When You come home and Your mom asks what it is, You can answer: "It's another Brother, Mother." Haha... Looks like this Machine is a similar Toughness-Class as my Bernina 217 industrial. Lasts a lifetime. But all the *real* industrial machines have automatic (circular) lubricant system, with pump and oil reservoir. Most of them have at least a walking sewing shoe, some have even a fabric driving needle - and they all have a massive-torque Servo Motor or at least a clutch motor. The 217 has no automatic lube and "only" a 220V AC starting motor, (but it sits under the table and it is the legendary "Kobold" Motor that has about a half horsepower) - and that's why I call my Bernina 217 just a semi-industrial Maschine - although it's labeled as "Industrial". The real "industrial Class" compared to this one is a big difference. Almost as big as from this Class to a good household-machine. But that is only needed for 24/7 industrial use. Most pro's (and of corse an amateur like me) are content with this class. I never needed to sew more than 12 layers of heavy canvas or about 18 Layers of denim fabric... ;)
Vintage Sewing Machine Garage 👍 New SUBSCRIBER. Nice video. Thank you. I have a fairly new RB-206 Consew and used to use an older (very vintage) Singer 600w1 - both commercial. Today I helped my brother get a vintage Brother DB2-B791-005 made in Japan. It weighs a ton and looks a lot like yours in most aspects. The clear circle (oil window??) is located just above the reverse lever and there is no oil pan below the unit. I don't know if it's supposed to have an oil pan, or if the oil uses an internal reservoir behind the clear round window? QUESTION: How can I get in touch with you outside of RUclips? I'd like to enlist your help identifying some parts on the Brother and buying some possibly needed parts from you. Some way I can send you pictures of my machine...? I didn't see your contact information in the description. Thank you in advance. B. Adams.
Im interested in hosting contact too! I have this machine and the reverse lever requires a lot of force to move. Also not sure how to ensure it is oiled. The oil window is empty even though the oil pan is full.
Are you in Guelph?!? So cool! I’m kind of low-key fan Girling on you. (Not creepy, just really envious and motivated by your knowledge.) When do you plan on teaching in-person classes?
Hello and thank you. I'm so glad that the videos are helping to inspire you to keep and take care of vintage machines. I don't live in Guelph but I do get to Wellington County. As for teaching live classes, I had not thought about that, but it's a very interesting suggestion. I think it would be best taught live instead of online. One thing I would want to do is come up with a way to publicize it so that people in the area would be aware that I was holding the class. So I will want to contemplate a way to structure all of that. Thank you for the great suggestion! I post my machines on for sale on Kijji so you can see many of those that I demonstrate here when they are completed. I list out more details of the restoration steps I have given to those machines on the Kijji postings.

Hello Mathew. Most industrial sewing machines have their electrical components in the motors and or switches that the machine accesses at the table. Just like yours, my Brother Industrial has no electrical components on the machine itself so I'm assuming you mean the motor in the table that came with your machine? I plan on doing future videos on domestic motor maintenance. As for industrial clutch and Servo motors, I will be focusing on learning more about those before I post specific motor videos. However, I plan on a video on preparing the Brother for sewing again so stay tuned and if you are subscribed and on the notification list, RUclips should notify you when I post new videos. Thanks so much for your question!
Yo tengo una máquina de este modelo y estoy feliz con ella. Í have one machine of this model..and i am hapy. If someone want to comment somethings about it please do it.
I've got this machine and I can't figure out why none of the needles I buy won't fit in! All the needle shanks are too big. I've tried the DPx5 as recommended in manual! Any suggestions?
Sometimes, brand can make a difference although it shouldn't. You might try contacting a local industrial sewing machine servicer to see what they carry and recommend.
Hi there. I wonder if someone has used this 755 for leather work. I understand a walking food is needed and this machine does not have it. May be some modification can be made. Your help will be indeed appreciated.
It depends on what you mean by leather work. Light weight garment leathers can be sewn well with use of a roller foot to keep leather from binding under the foot due to friction. A few layers of this should be ok with use also of leather tipped needles. Any stiff leather will require use of walking foot machine. I have found walking foot attachments to not be very effective.
That machine is a monster !! Cant wait to see it come alive :)

What is the bolt on top of the machine for thanks
That allows adjustment of the presser foot pressure.
