- I'd originally planned to watch this one in English, seeing as it takes place in the US and all... But I just couldn't do it. This show came out in 2016, and dubs are usually pretty good these days... My god, was this one painful. I got about 2 minutes in. (And then checked back in mid-episode and found it was still the same...) Every single character talks with either a really bad, inconsistent attempt at an actual Italian accent... Or that super obnoxious American-Italian accent. I try not to be cruel, but this dub was literally a form of torture.
It's kind of a miracle this review is only a day late. It has been the shittiest past two weeks possible... And yesterday was just the cherry on top.
And because of that, I worried a little that March being a really bad month for me might have been another factor impacting my enjoyment a little. I think I did manage to keep those emotions separate, though. Anime is my escapism hobby, and I've needed that more than ever recently.
kino review, glad to see youre still going
aaaa now im curious, but you know I dont do well with sad endings, but I love the drammmaaaa
We should talk about it sometime. It's a sad ending... but also hopeful in a way... Impossible to explain without spoiling everything, and I don't like to leave that written out for people to come across accidentally. ^^' just in case.
I'm glad you checked out my recommendations and enjoyed Sword Of The Stranger ! I hope you also enjoy Vinland Saga , Golden Kamuy and Psycho Pass season 1 ! I hope you might add Welcome to the NHK to your list and I was wondering wether you would be open to watching korean cinema ?
I've never really taken an interest in Korean cinema. (Or even any live-action Japanese cinema, honestly, with maybe one or two exceptions. There are seriously so many really popular movies I've never seen. Every time I get into the mood to try and catch up on that, my mind immediately hits back with, "But there's so much anime on your to-watch list!!!!")
@@duckielover151 I get that but I promise you some of the best compelling and thought provoking cinema in recent years came from Korea. If you ever finish your anime list I would love to recommend you some to watch !
Oooh is this going to be the start of this sleeper anime's redemption arc?
It's funny how a person's perception of something can change. I thought this show got a decent amount of buzz when it first came out. Now that I've finally gotten around to seeing it, everyone I've talked to talks about it like it's a hidden gem. Apparently it didn't get as popular as I thought it was.
@duckielover151 I don't personally know anyone that saw it and I'm just over here like "bruh". XD
