Review

I was a little torn. Like, I almost felt bad about being disappointed at times. Because this series really is pretty great for this type of slower, slice of life show...
But it really centers itself around the complicated family dynamics everyone has... and then never really addresses them properly.
Not just Ohana never quite confronting/getting through to her mom, either! I can't believe the three girls don't have a single scene where they ever talk about how Nako's effectively the parent in her household, how Minko's parents don't support her dream and now she doesn't even seem to be in contact with them anymore... That likely would have been the thing to push their friendship over the edge of being really memorable for me. (There's the rant that didn't quite make it into the review.)
But at the same time... I can't pretend I didn't almost tear up during that last episode, as the grandmother was walking through the inn, one final time...
It wasn't everything I wanted it to be, but that doesn't mean it wasn't really good.

I understand your conflicted feelings about it i have a similar issue with it PA works shows in general the set up is great and they can do mush more but decide to meander half way through i almost dropped this one and shirobako half way through because i was bored out of my mind.

Funny you mention that... I realized I've been watching a ton of PA Works shows lately. Entirely by coincidence 😅

@@duckielover151 they make a lot of slice of life anime and they tend to be well produced too so no wander that happened.
