Hey Everyone! Thank you for giving Spectrum a lot of love. This episode in particular was highly requested & we are excited to bring it to you. Our team is working on ways to include you (yes, you!) in the prompt building process for Spectrum episodes, so stay connected with us on instagram.com/jubileemedia. We want to make sure everyone is heard & we’re asking the right things.
Let us know what prompts taught you the most below!

I grew up as a foreigner in a Muslim country. There is no way that you can argue that women and men are treated equal in the religion practice.

sowsow cool well unfortunately she was she was incorrect, 29 years of reading it and you haven't read the verse; she's masking her ignorance by showing here 'knowledge'. Just goes to show, time doesn't give you knowledge nor wisdom
It would be good to know what she means by read, is it just reading the text as in recitation, reading the arabic/english text with understanding of what the mean such as in reading a translation or reading with an understanding of the explanation of the verses and their context.
G Clowne Good point. But she meant read, not recite. She said she hasn't came across the verse within the years she 'read' it, her point was used to dismiss the guys claim of the verse existing, so if the read was used as recitation: it would be absurd.

Wrong title it should be "do all American muslims think the same"
@@Elijah666 That's great the world needs more progressive muslims, hope you're safe from the war in syria
@@Elijah666 I agree, Western media projects Islam and some parts of the world with Muslims as the majority of the population so differently to validate their political aims that some people think "Muslims from other countries are not as tolerant". I mean faith is about the person and their interpretation of the book as well as their experiences and relationship with God. It is not about any country. People seen on media are usually extremists and radicalized which does not, in any way, represent any population. There are a lot of Muslims in Europe and Asia but we always HAVE to think of the Middle East when speaking of Islam. This is a channel that casts speakers of English. Why don't we name other videos as "Do All American Feminists Think the Same" or "Do All American Atheists Think the Same" but this one? (I don't mean to aggravate but to form a conversation)
That's definitely not the case. Tolerence in Islam goes with the scriptures. Anything that contradicts with that is unacceptable. I am a proud muslim and I am happy with my spriptures that are from Allah.

Real cool vid just hoped that when people disagreed they'd have more time to speak, specifically in that section about being in equal in Islam.
purple scarf girl needs to learn that not everyone out there is trying to make her think differently. very close minded, needs to listen more and talk less.
Heather Rasmussen okay youtube comment reply girl
Heather Rasmussen calling you youtube comment reply girl is a strong talk? Hahaha, no, I’m not a satanist, but I’m pretty dure they wouldn’t have assumed my whole beliefs because of a profile picture
True
That’s what religion does to people a lot of the times.
That's exactly what I was thinking of too.. People like her are the ones who starts fights in debates.
"I pray with one hand and commit sin with the other" is that why your wrist is broken my guy
what a intelligent post

Do you know , what's really funny is that no one of those girls is wearing the hijab properly
And we should all understand that it doesn't matter what Muslims think what matters is what Islam realty teaches
@@voxlinou Why don't you read the Quran and find out for yourself what Islam teaches?

Looks like we've got another Erin on our hands

At least she had her facts right 😭😭
No offence, but I was kinda feeling bad that the white shirt one didn't get to express his opinions openly without getting interrupted just because they were different.
Mainly the women in the purple
heights of abnormality that’s what they do.
He seems to have been the smartest and most through and unemotional in his responses.
Women in purple was and acting like she is the only one that reads quran
heights of abnormality muslims like the other ppl are like that they think that they’re always right and god was at their home giving them private tutoring telling them what’s wrong and what’s right
What type of muslims are those, like wtf?
I love to see this spectrum bc i can see perspectives from other people. Im not that religious but it's a little bit dissapointing how clash some of their opinions are from what our prophet taught us

"I read in the Quran everyday, not once has I gotten to a verse about violence."

Seriously, it's fine to highlight all the positive things about your religion, but violence is a part of every one of them and oh boy is there a lot of it in the Quran. That comment really proved how ignorant she is...
Octrox I think she meant in the terms on being aggressive towards people for no reason which the other women did explain why those verses were mentioned but the women in the purple Hijab was trying to be ignorant or dodge the questions which as a Muslim is annoying
@@Octrox Yeah. Some people choose to be blind
Octrox My mind is baffled on how she walked in and expected everyone to have the same opinion. Did she not think someone was going to go against hers? Even when they did, they weren’t bias or anything. It’s just plain arrogance.
Vaporwave what’s annoying was that she claims to read the Quran a lot but ignores the others you can’t do that it’s wrong it’s an open discussion
These individuals don't represent islam in any way !
the hijab question has always had me curious. i know that we should dress modest but i dont recall ever hearing anything about the hijab. ive been told i have to but im not sure
yes it is in the quran
Nia is kinda annoying with her "I read the quran so stfu dont argue with me" attitude, especially when the other guys brings up correct verses from the quran.
I'm muslim btw and I agree with her on some points but ffs let the others speak.
And then she goes ahead and says you can be part of LGBT community and be muslim at the same time. That makes 0 sense it's like saying you can be hindu and eat cow meat..
@@yugandamirai6422 I agree with the fact that she just give the " I READ THE QURAN" argument

I am not Muslim but have read the Quran because I am interested in understanding religions and looking for the similarities. As an outsider that strictly knows the words of the Quran and not someone who follows the teachings/interpretations the guy in the white shirt was most representative and the others focused more on interpretation vs written word.
So you're fluent in Arabic?
7:46 bro but who brought the court of law here
The lady in the purple hijab doesn't give proper educated answers.
I agree to an extant. I agree with a lot of her sentiments but she needs to provide more evidence for her claims. Red sweater girl was awesome though, she provided the context, information, and Islamic scholarly interpretation. She really knew what she was talking about no doubt became she had a proper education in understanding Islam!
She reads the quran ugh she was so annoying I think shes a revert
She keeps using the quraan to prop herself up
Chantaya no, she wasn’t being cut off, LMAO. she cut people off the most.
Education vs religion...thats where it gets weird....fact vs myth
Anyone else think Jubilee should release the full uncut version either as another video, or as a podcast?
I hope not
Kittys cat Awe how come? So much is cut out and it’d be nice to see it unbiased and in the raw!!
Joseph Md Both the cut and the uncut video is the truth either way, but the cut version is the condensed version of the truth; and as it’s edited by humans, it’s inevitably going to be biased. They would obviously continue to upload the condensed version, but for those who have the time and interest, the whole video might be nice to hear everyone’s perspective! :)
@@PastelTyrant if i were god this would make me 😷. I just find it disturbing in ever aspect. So gross.
@Joseph Md they dont even know what a truth could be.
I really enjoyed this segment. Honestly, I'd have to say that I'm not too fond of Nia's disposition. You come to something where people have the opportunity to hear each other out, and you keep saying "...and nobody's going to change my thoughts, or talk me out of it." I am not saying leave there and change your whole, but listen...we're on this planet together to learn from each other.
