I just bought one used for like $33. I’m pretty happy with it. It’s not a powerful blower but it does ok for grass clippings which is what I bought it for. I figure for the price of the battery alone the free blower had to be worth it. The only issue I had was the blower tube kept coming loose. I put a couple of screws in it to hold it in place and that worked great. I don’t know if I’d buy it new but I’d buy a used one again. Especially for under $35.
Thanks for the review. Today (9/17/2019), Direct Tools has this kit, reconditioned, for $43, which sounds like a decent price after watching this. Mostly I need to blow grass off the sidewalk and dry leaves in the fall. I'm already invested in the Ryobi 18V system, so I have extra batteries and chargers.
I have one without The battery pack. Was my brother's. Thanks for the education. Helped me to decide whether to purchase new and different brand vs replacing battery pack
I would say save your money on this one. I would say if it goes half that price maybe. I have two 40v and two 18v Ryobi blowers, and this does nothing for me. Especially without the variable speed. Good review.
I have this and a gas backpack blower. By the time I'm about 3/4 of the way done with the driveway I'm thinking to myself, "Should have dragged out the gas blower, would have been faster even messing with gas and starting it."
Cannot comment on gas blowers but true when it comes to corded blowers. I hate the tangled cords and that fight. For clearing my garage floor it does fine. Don't even think about using this model for yard work - unless your into disappointment.
Thanks for your review. The battery included is not bad but I have a lot of doubts about this blower even being adequate for a small yard and fall leaves. They are wet sometimes and it seems this might not move them much.
Skipping this one is the right call - every time I've used it since making the review I get frustrated with it halfway through and start wishing I had taken the time to go crank my gas powered backpack blower.
Homelite has a blower vac 2 cycle for $99 and it fits the bill for a cheap "cleanup after mowing" blower. Don't know as I'll ever use the vac/mulcher accessories, but it was 4 bucks more than the plain blower. Quiet - exhaust goes out the nozzle, starts 1st pull... so far. Gets the grass off my mom's trailer skirting, and clears my 300' driveway off in no time. Glad I didn't spend more for electric.
Necking it down for faster airflow will not give you more power. If that's what you want, you need different blower since this one is light duty at best.
Nice honest and objective review. I'm hoping for a 2x18V (36V) blower from Ryobi. They really need to stick to one battery platform. You live in a really nice neighborhood. What city are you in?
I got one of these and it’s going back. It’s not suitable as a leaf blower. But it all you need to do is blower out a truck bed or maybe a workshop it would be fine. I see it competing with the m12 shop blower if it didn’t have the long tube. Anyways mine is going back. Not with that money. I went with the 40v blower instead.
The 18V jet fan isn't going to give you gas like performance, but it's a lot more capable than this model is. Here's a good review video, since I haven't used it myself: ruclips.net/video/87Uyl7E-L_E/видео.html
I haven't run into that issue with the battery getting stuck. As a last resort, you could try prying the tool and battery apart with a screwdriver while holding down the release buttons, but you might damage one or both of them.
I bought this for my mom for Mother's Day and I brought one of my 4 ah batteries to compare the power. The power increase was quite noticeable with the 4 ah vs. the 2 ah that came with it. While there was a substantial difference between the 2 and the 4, can you tell me if there is much of a difference in power between the 4 ah and the 6 ah battery?
It will last about 9 minutes in the blower. The P118 charger will handle any Ryobi One+ 18V battery, it will just take a lot longer for the larger capacity ones (5+ hours for the 9Ah).
Direct Tools had this for $39.99 with a battery and charger for theor xmas in July.. I got it for $51 after shipping and taxes. I am on Ridgid platform but for $40 with battery and charger i had to get it. Edit: yikes it seems like this isnt soo great, I have a corded lawn tools and i only use the blower for grass clippings. Would be nice to not share an extension cord. I do have a corded black n decker but again either my gf or I have to wait until the lawn mower or string trimmer isnt in use with only the 1 cord. This way we can both work without relying solely on the extension cord.
I just bought a like new one for $30 shipped a minute ago. I wish I had seen your video before I clicked buy, as this poor blower looks anemic. Buyers regret already.
That's because it is weak. Cordless blowers have come a long way since I made this video, and Ryobi has no business selling this model anymore. I'd recommend the EGO 650 CFM 56V blower or the Ryobi 730 CFM 40V blower. The 18V platforms just don't have the runtime needed for a high performance leaf blower. If you really want to stick with 18V Ryobi for yard cleanup, this is the only one I'd consider: homedepot.sjv.io/3ez1yn
So you think it's a garbage product, but criticize me for saying it has poor performance? Can't have it both ways, man. Also, Ryobi is targeting people without much experience with tools as potential buyers for this blower. Many of them may have no concept what 200 CFM is compared to something better. So I'm letting everyone know they'll be very disappointed with this "sweeper" unless they're using it for anything but clearing dry grass clippings.
I have been looking everywhere to see if this was variable speed. thanks for answering that at 2:44!

Got this for my 2 year old toddler. He loves it.
😄
Up in Canada this thing goes on sale for $108 CAD which is roughly $81 USD. That's a sale price, mind you.
Thank you for your honest review.
Dang, that's a ridiculous price! Have you tried eBay for refurbished ones? The one I bought that way has been going strong for a few years now.
Outstanding, very comprehensive review. Thank you.
Nice review! Coming across a few of your reviews for tools recently. Very informative! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Nice job, thanks for the great review. Will work perfect for my deck!
I would say save your money on this one. I would say if it goes half that price maybe. I have two 40v and two 18v Ryobi blowers, and this does nothing for me. Especially without the variable speed. Good review.
I agree - one of those situations where saving a few bucks up front will leave you regretting it on down the road when it comes to performance.
Perfect for drying cars
Great Video thanks. Been looking for a lighter blower for my boys to use so they can help me in the yard.
Thanks for the information share. Appreciated. Watching from Ontario Canada. 🥞
Can I bring this to my birthday party? ya, know, to blow out the candles.
It might not blow out the candles
These battery powered blowers are a good if you already have a gas powered blower. Sometimes it's not worth the time to fuel and start a gas blower.
I have this and a gas backpack blower. By the time I'm about 3/4 of the way done with the driveway I'm thinking to myself, "Should have dragged out the gas blower, would have been faster even messing with gas and starting it."
I love the one+ line of 18v tools, I've got a quite a few, but I don't think I could give up my echo and Husqvarna 2 cycle equipment.

If you have wet leaves, definitely avoid this blower.
What does it weigh with a 4ah battery?
I would make my own neck down to increase psi towards centralized direction
Thanks for the review. Love the Ryobi 18V system, but I think I'll pass on this one. I think this is the type of tool that needs the 40V power.

This one sucks but the new ones are amazing
Is there an attachment to make the opening even smaller...I don't need more air I need more power
Necking it down for faster airflow will not give you more power. If that's what you want, you need different blower since this one is light duty at best.
Can this battery be used for the hedge trimmer made by this company it's 18volts but is it suitable?
Nice honest and objective review. I'm hoping for a 2x18V (36V) blower from Ryobi. They really need to stick to one battery platform.
You live in a really nice neighborhood. What city are you in?
Thanks! I'm in the Huntsville, AL suburbs.
Very nice!
You hear that Ryobi? We want 2x18V tools! The 40V tools are good but the 18V line is your #1 seller.
can this handle blowing wet leaves out of a roof gutter?
No, not even close.
@@DoresoomReviews Thanks
Do you think it will be good enough to “dry” a motorcycle?
Probably, but if you have any other uses planned for it, I'd pick something else.

Yeah, dry grass clippings on a sidewalk is about all this can handle. 40V is the way to go!
How does its bigger brother compare to this can it clear off a driveway like a gas blower can
The jet fan one still 18v

I have a hard time getting the battery off. Is there a trick to getting it off so easily? I push the buttons and pull and pull and my hand gets red.
I haven't run into that issue with the battery getting stuck. As a last resort, you could try prying the tool and battery apart with a screwdriver while holding down the release buttons, but you might damage one or both of them.

I tried it with both back to back yesterday actually, but couldn't tell much of a difference.
Mine bogs out when using even with the full battery
I just bought one today. I hope I didn't make a bad choice.
You can always take it back! 😂
I have a p 102 battery I wonder how long it will be on run time if I keep it. And can I use my P118 charger for the larger amp/ hr batteries?

I just bought it for 26$ on ebay right now . Im going to use it too get dog fur off the porch
How about for drying off a car?
It should work for that application.

I got this model for free with the 3ah+hp battery. My neighbor gave it to me for free, I can see why he did.
It blows.
More noise that gas
That is one weak blower
Yep
Seems weak

He said poor performance knowing that garbage only had about 200 cfm lmao....lol hahaha this guy has no common sense
