He just needs to blow off his 800 sq.ft. porch and it's stones steps (an old southern house with a wrap around porch). Having a heavier unit with lots of airflow is just too much for him to handle anymore. Plus, when I take my young boys over to do "yard work", they love playing with it (the Ryobi) and "helping" GrandPa. Every tool must match the job. I have used this blower and its great for light duty work such as blowing dry leaves off smooth surfaces or grass after edging the lawn, but its not for heavy duty fall clean up. So its always a matter of matching the tool to the job.

I agree, I use it for my garage and my lanai. For my yard I use a gas one. For small little quick sweeps I love the freedom, grab it and go just to dust off the are by the pool before hanging out etc.
You should mention that the blower is available without the battery and charger, for $89.00 at Home Depot, for those people who have already invested in the 18 volt line-up. Lots of people only use blowers for cleaning hard surfaces after the yard work is done, and this is perfect for that. I have used Ryobi tools since they went on the market, all of them still operate great. Hopefully these yard tools will hold also.
I bought one after using a pair of their P2105's for a few years. The older model was ok in use as a pair (the second one was only $10 at a thrift shop. Can't beat that) , but this new one is much stronger and I already have the 18+ system. All the blowers suck down the batteries quickly.
I think this will be perfect for my use and I already have Ryobi tools. My yard is mostly cement, a pool and 7x9 artificial grass. Yard gets dusty and the neighbor's tree sheds those little pink flowers. This blower seems perfect to just tidy up the yard and keep debris from landing in the pool. If I had more yard work maybe I'd opt for something with more power. But this will be great for me. Thanks for the review and helping me make my decision.
So that ego is awesome but its 56volts right? I tried to find a setup that was "a few dollars more" and for a 5ah battery, blower and charger it was $440 at HD for the ego. That's like 3.5 times the cost of the Ryobi. Not sure what the beach ball was for. Most people blow grass clippings or dry leaves.
Price is wrong - But eve if it was right you get 10x the performance out of an EGO - YOUR WELCOME for this link www.homedepot.com/p/EGO-145-MPH-600-CFM-56-Volt-Lithium-ion-Cordless-Backpack-Blower-with-5-0Ah-Battery-and-Charger-Included-LB6002/207203612
@@Kitearmy Going by CFM, just over 2x the performance..... And you can't use that battery in a bunch of other tools. With my Ryobi batteries I can swap it from a blower, to a pole saw, to a drill, weed whack, tire inflator, radio, etc. Comparing a backpack blower to a small blower is apples to oranges anyways, but for the price and performance, there's no reason not to go with the Ryobi if you're already invested in batteries for them. I'd have loved to see you use a 9.0ah, they make everything perform better.
@@Kitearmy Being that I already have a big Stihl that outperforms the ego, and I'm looking for a smaller blower that fits all the Ryobi batteries I have, yes I would. Be perfect for blowing out the shop, drying trucks, quick clean up after mowing, etc. Where I don't need to crank up the big blower.
I just got this Ryobi it is great, I got it particularly for drying my car, but I cleaned off the garage floor & it had plenty of power to handle the job.
I have decided to not dive in to the 40v+ tools yet. So using a $30 plugin leaf blower saves time compared to using an 18v blower on leaves. This even includes getting out and putting away the extension cord. The plugin unit just has way more power.
Kite Army The Ryobi Model P2180 is a great clean up blower after mowing the lawn!!! I agree with you on the marketing crap on the side of the box. I also agree a larger, heavier, more expensive 56V blower at $329 w/ 5 hr battery will blow leaves better?? DA! THERE IS A GREAT RYOBI COMBO WITH THIS BLOWER AND A TRIMMER/EDGER FOR $149 WITH ONE BATTERY AND CHARGER. Why pay SRP $129 for this blower with 4 hr battery charger. Why pay $129 for the Ryobi P2080 trimmer/edger with a 4 hr battery and charger for SRP $129. BUY THE COMBO KIT!!!!!
All blowers make a high pitched engine noise. I prefer the EGO (i think on sale now) you can control the speed so if you run it slower it makes less noise.
I bought this blower with a weedeater a couple years ago. The blower no longer blows at full speed. HD wouldn't take it back because it was over a year, and to get extended warranty work I'd have to take it out of town over an hour. Anyone else have this issue? Does the motor lose power, or maybe the trigger is coming loose?
Can you review the new 40v brushless ryobi leaf blower ? Just picked one up with the 4ah battery and also 4ah chainsaw. I like the ryobi 40v platform because its affordable and the string trimmer and a multi head attachment now. Let me know if you review! Thanks
@@Kitearmy Exactly. I appreciate these videos. I just ordered a much more powerful blower because I have a good sized yard and I don't want to be out there all day.
You could just say that we like high end EGO a lot and low end Ryobi not so much. ;) All tools have their applications and advantages. Seems like you were showing the obvious here. I do enjoy your comparisons though and love your passion. :)
Despite some of the other comments, I like that you compared the Ryobi to the Ego for the simple fact that I now have an idea of what to expect from a low-end tool versus a high-end tool. That was a good review. PS, I was disappointed that I didn't see flames in the clear part of the tube of the jet blower. '-p
You failed to mention that if you already have batteries you can buy this blower alone for $80. I have quit a few ryobi tools and batteries so tools like this I buy as tool only. Plus ryobi often offers there 4ah and now there new 6ah 18 volt batteries 2 for the price of 1. Watch HD under batteries for this. I just ordered the new 6ah batteries 2 for $120.
I got $70 in Home Depot gift cards with the Lucky Day app on my phone. Then I applied those towards the cost of a Ryobi P21801 blower. Already had an old blue an orange ONE+ tool kit, bought one of the thinner lithium batteries to use the drill. Last fall I bought a ONE+ string trimmer. The only problem with the OBE+ tools is they're only sold as bare tools or with the battery *and* charger. Why don't they also sell them with just a battery? Now I have one old charger just for NiCd, two different chargers that do both NiCd and lithium, and a compact charger that came with the blower, looks like it may only do the lithium batteries. If I keep buying ONE+ tools I'll have a bin full of surplus chargers.
@@Kitearmy 2 years ago my folks, my sister and I used our phones to get so many gift cards we were able to take a 16 day vacation to Chattanooga TN and only spent around $700. Most of that was for the hotel stay at the ChooChoo. Drove there from Idaho.
$120 home depo that's great our equivalent in Australia is a place called Bunnings ,that unit is $149 for the skin only , $69 extra for changer and $150 for battery , unlucky us .
Just bought this unit and two 18V batteries. It takes HOURS to charge this thing and it only lasts a rotten 15 minutes. UGH - doesn't cut it unless blowing decks -
I'm just looking to blow off my paved driveway and considering I already have a bunch of One+ 18V tools and batteries, for 95 bucks for the bare tool, I'll take that. It blows my 40V Black & Decker away. (Pun intended.)
It looks like it would be best used for leaves and (more likely) grass on concrete/asphalt surfaces. Of course, their mower has a bagger on it so theoretically most of the use is intended to be for trimmed grass remaining on the sidewalk. In other words if you have each of the products you should be covered LOL
How you gonna compare a 560 cfm ego to 280 cfm ryobi and say the ryobi is underpowered? Ego is literally twice the power out of the box. Lol. Obviously from merely looking at specs? Like saying my dodge charger out performs my prius. I have this ryobi blower. It's battery lasting power isn't great maybe 15 min at full power. (4ah battery). But I have like 12 batteries because I have a lot of ryobi tools. This blower worked better than I had expected.
have a 580 ego blower, there are a number of leaf blowers just as good, less the bulk.. it's highly over rated.. that Ryobi leaf blower can be had for cheap if you own the 18 volt ryobli tools.. it's a great buy... been using The AC and DC model for years, but I have a Toro.AC.. I'm going to by that model you been showing off. just the tool.
Better search RYOBI details again especially where it states 2X the power and 50% more run time "than the previous model". This is the second of your vids I've watched, both have been less than impressive. I doubt if I'll be looking for any more from Kite Army FAIL!
Comment number two when I bought the Ryobi jet fan blower at the Home Depot for $109 it did not come with the battery no they did not have the deals on when I bought the blower but the next week there was a deal on which I missed it but if you’re going to buy this one save your money
Ya no interest in this blower. Leaf blowers are definitely a place where you spend more and you get more. Surprisingly though it looked like this was blowing the beachball higher than the Ryobi 40v one you did in the other test?
She works for EGO. You'll never see a dollar for dollar vs review from this clown. Always some toy EGO model costing hundreds more than a Ryobi comparison.
Did you just compare a $120 unit with a $350 unit? Ego makes good equipment but they are completely nuts on their battery costs that completely outweigh any benefit of going battery operated IMO.
If that philosophy was true the world would have no need for brands like Toyota. Sorry matching the tool for the job is #1 in my book and at Ego's price point gas power equipment eats their lunch.
I dont own a Tesla or a Ferrari because they aren't practical for my application. I doubt you do either but if Ego pays you enough to peddle their overpriced products good for you. Its only the best if it fits your job the best otherwise its pissing money away. This was clearly a advertisement for ego and not a review of the Ryobi product so know I've wasted my time twice.....what i get for using garabage tube
It depends on the job. For light work around the house, battery blowers rock. For blowing sawdust out of a garage or cleaning out a cadet heater an 18V blower is perfect. For a real big job, commercial work or a job that requires serious power, gas powered backpack blowers are still king. I’ve used a gas blower to remove stumps. You literally blow out the dirt around the roots and then take an axe to them. Electric blowers simply don’t have that kind of power. What they do have is quiet and convenience and for small jobs a smaller, lighter blower is more convenient. That’s why comparing an 18V blower to a 56V blower is silly. The real measure of the One+ blower is how it stacks up against Dewalt, Milwaukee, Black and Decker, etc...
All very true. But most people only will buy one blower - The great thing about the EGO (or other top of line) is that you can run it slower for the delicate jobs.
First rule in selling your product, is diminishing others. This guy is EGO ARMY disguised as a non partial reviewer. #EgoPlant (suitable name would be Eggplant).
Why you didn't compare that Ryobi 18v blower to a more comparable blower like Dewalt 20v, Milwaukee 18v, Worx 20v, Kobalt 24v...? Well can't blame you if i was sponsored by ego to promote there stuff also. Button line is that Ryobi 18v blower is a great little blower which you can use the 18v battery on all your other Ryobi 18v tools without haven't to get into a new battery platform not mention that ego 56v is about $400 + dollars...

A blower like this will have it's uses. Light duty stuff like pine needles, grass clippings on a drive way, leaves, and sawdust. You're not going to get very far with a large yard and piles of leaves with this blower.

What is the price difference between the two blowers????
Thanks for the review and helping me make my decision.
perfect for hard surfaces
4:26 You can stop there. LOL.
that's my opinion
@@Kitearmy
Going by CFM, just over 2x the performance.....
@@kylesonsalla7620 OK - so if i put a Ryobi on the table and and EGO which would you pick? Let me guess...Ryobi right....sure
@@Kitearmy
Being that I already have a big Stihl that outperforms the ego, and I'm looking for a smaller blower that fits all the Ryobi batteries I have, yes I would. Be perfect for blowing out the shop, drying trucks, quick clean up after mowing, etc. Where I don't need to crank up the big blower.
@@kylesonsalla7620 Or you could just have one blower that does everything.
Is it normal a weird noice if I don’t pull the trigger all the way? Like plastic friction??
normal for Ryobi - yes
I just got this Ryobi it is great, I got it particularly for drying my car, but I cleaned off the garage floor & it had plenty of power to handle the job.
Great to hear!
We have one in my JOB AND IT doesn't last 5 minutes on hight plus the fan it's already damaged
Ryobi is all I can say
I bought this recently. It’s great for small stuff like blowing clippings and seeds off patios and sidewalks.
perfect for that
can u use this to 'dry' your car after a power wash? noisy?
yes but I would say that you would be better of with something more powerful - Like an EGO blower
@@Kitearmy thx, im just cheapeing out lol.. i bought a blower for like 100cdn off amazon since i already have the battery for it
@@kleptodathief3946 We all do that :)
Will you review some of the Stihl blowers
Already done - check out my videos
Is the 18V 410 CFM better than this?
Yes - but shorter run time and heavier
I have decided to not dive in to the 40v+ tools yet. So using a $30 plugin leaf blower saves time compared to using an 18v blower on leaves. This even includes getting out and putting away the extension cord. The plugin unit just has way more power.
You should look at other cordless brands - way more power than Ryobi
This is a fine blower for smaller jobs - some people may like to have multiple batteries
nothing about run time?
not much
My concern is noise,I don''t want to wake up my naighbors which one is the quietest leaf blower..
All blowers make a high pitched engine noise. I prefer the EGO (i think on sale now) you can control the speed so if you run it slower it makes less noise.
The only leaf "blower" which possibly makes no sound is called a broom.
Unfortunately it is a throw away blower
Can you review the new 40v brushless ryobi leaf blower ? Just picked one up with the 4ah battery and also 4ah chainsaw. I like the ryobi 40v platform because its affordable and the string trimmer and a multi head attachment now. Let me know if you review! Thanks
You will be the first to know
How many people watched the video and said, "yeah, i'm just looking to mess around with it. this should be fine for me." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

How awkward; I mean wife.

@@garysarratt1 now she needs a shovel to bury you. Go with the Ryobi for someone who is concerned about weight but don't have high expectations
You could just say that we like high end EGO a lot and low end Ryobi not so much. ;) All tools have their applications and advantages. Seems like you were showing the obvious here. I do enjoy your comparisons though and love your passion. :)
Thanks mate -Yeah sometimes's I have a hard time controlling my passion for good products.
We have flowers and this is about perfect. We've already experienced the ego breaking the stems of our roses. Thanks, but no thanks
I have had that problem too - good thing I don't have to many roses :)
Ryobi fan boys are easily upset :(
After watching your beach ball blower comparison, I can see why. ;-p
it's a hard reality to face...
Plus if you already are in the Ryobi battery system, This is the way to go.
maybe but not the 40v
There is a 40v version
Sure - lots has changed since I made this video - make sure you see my latest blower review video
Virginia Munson good comment. Thanks for the info.
Sounds like you are gaming the system - good for you
@@Kitearmy 2 years ago my folks, my sister and I used our phones to get so many gift cards we were able to take a 16 day vacation to Chattanooga TN and only spent around $700. Most of that was for the hotel stay at the ChooChoo. Drove there from Idaho.

Perfect for that application
@@ericl6460 I totally agree with that
It looks like it would be best used for leaves and (more likely) grass on concrete/asphalt surfaces. Of course, their mower has a bagger on it so theoretically most of the use is intended to be for trimmed grass remaining on the sidewalk. In other words if you have each of the products you should be covered LOL

Right. No good.
You’re comparing an 18v blower to a 56v turbo blower... seems fair
Your right. It’s not fair to compare a bad blower to a good one. That’s just my point 18v is not up to the job.
My neighbor has this. It's great for blowing out the garage but nearly useless in the yard. For $50-60 I'd say yes but for $100+ it's a definite NO.
Agreed...check this out: ruclips.net/video/bswCWVuvzJs/видео.html
Nice video. I would like to add that I have many of these Ryobi 18v tools and have been happy with nearly all of them.
If you have a small yard or a tight budget - Ryobi's a great a deal
How you gonna compare a 560 cfm ego to 280 cfm ryobi and say the ryobi is underpowered? Ego is literally twice the power out of the box. Lol. Obviously from merely looking at specs? Like saying my dodge charger out performs my prius. I have this ryobi blower. It's battery lasting power isn't great maybe 15 min at full power. (4ah battery). But I have like 12 batteries because I have a lot of ryobi tools. This blower worked better than I had expected.
I'd sure hate to be your neighbor 😃
True - but let me assure you they all have great blowers
I use it to dry my truck off after washing it
I bet it would work ok for that
The big blower sounds like a jet engine
sure does - it runs like one too
So you are comparing a 40v blower with a 18v blower?. I mean come on bro.
Nope - just showing what is out there
have a 580 ego blower, there are a number of leaf blowers just as good, less the bulk.. it's highly over rated..
that Ryobi leaf blower can be had for cheap if you own the 18 volt ryobli tools.. it's a great buy... been using
The AC and DC model for years, but I have a Toro.AC.. I'm going to by that model you been showing off. just the tool.

I now use 6Amp hour batteries and it blows much harder.
I got a longer run time but not more power - you might find this test interesting: ruclips.net/video/S5Af9_pOyG8/видео.html
Interesting. Maybe my 6AH is more powerful than my 4AH because it is newer.
That could explain it...how old is the battery?
Brand new 6AH. 2 year old 4AH
I wouldn't think that a 2 year old battery should be in that bad of shape???
And does anybody on here know if the Ryobi 18V 410 CFM Blower or the DeWalt 20V 400 CFM Blower is better?
both are mediocre blowers
Better search RYOBI details again especially where it states 2X the power and 50% more run time "than the previous model". This is the second of your vids I've watched, both have been less than impressive. I doubt if I'll be looking for any more from Kite Army FAIL!

Jim - Don't beat yourself up just because you can't afford EGO.
Did you just compare a $120 unit with a $350 unit?
Ego makes good equipment but they are completely nuts on their battery costs that completely outweigh any benefit of going battery operated IMO.
I see what you are saying - However, Ryobi's only play is cost - they get beat by most brands in every other measure.
If that philosophy was true the world would have no need for brands like Toyota. Sorry matching the tool for the job is #1 in my book and at Ego's price point gas power equipment eats their lunch.
And if that philosophy was true the world would have no need for brands like Tesla. Sorry but In my book the best is the best regardless of price.
Yep - youtube is garbage - you get what you pay for.....Just like blowers.
Following this logic you ought to ditch that wimpy little Ego and get yourself a Stihl BR350.
Nope - got to be cordless - That's the future my friend.
But most people only will buy one blower - The great thing about the EGO (or other top of line) is that you can run it slower for the delicate jobs.
kind of a stupid comparison against the ego, but okayyyy...
That EGO is a bully - pick on someone your own size.
