@@YoudonknowwhoIam I very, very much doubt you were actually familiar with the Japanese Super Mario Bros 2. before the Western localized one, and in the unlikely idea that you weren't being facetious, it's even more unlikely you wouldn't by now have heard the development history of the prototyped alternate Super Mario Bros 2 that was then changed by Nintendo into a licensed game, then altered back into a Mario game under the Japanese name Super Mario Bros. USA and the American name Super Mario Bros. 2. And since the "original" (and as regarded by Nintendo, inferior) Super Mario Bros. 2 was more of a level pack with a couple minor graphics and physics revisions to the first game than a proper sequel, it was more a series of "lost" levels for the original and rebranded as such when localized in the later compilation. "Here you go, have just as many _new_ levels for the original Super Mario Bros. as the original cartridge itself held!"
Glad to see that you're really interested in where this game is going to go next. Regarding the lag, I'm working on it, for some reason for some people it's harder for the game to run, but again, looking into it.
Sometimes the lag can be mitigated if you use Delta. While I was doing a crash course on Godot, it said Delta makes everything "Time dependent" rather than "Frame dependent". I'm no real Dev myself but it's something to look into maybe!

the glitch sound is from freesound. it's the second most popular glitch noise on there
