    Hi guys, thanks for coming to class! Ngl, it was one of the most relaxed classes I've had. I usually get super tense before going live, but I felt very calm this time. Probably because this grammar itself is not one of the most challenging ones, but I think it's also because of the very supportive & cooperative class/chat atmosphere :) ♥ Thank you so much! And here's the time stamp of this class:

    Miss vicky. first of all thank you so much for the effort and time you pull just to teach us for free. your videos helps me a lot so thank you so much. i hope you wont get tired teaching us. 💛
    okay so, i'm actually wondering and confuse about 밖에 and 만, the only thing clear to me is that 밖에 is more colloquial than 만, and that 밖에 is only used with negative conjunction while 만 can be used in positive and negative.
    한국어 조금밖에 못해요 = I can only speak a little bit of Korean
    if you translate it literally it will be mean "I can't speak/do only a little bit of korean" it seems like the /negative/ conjunction is neglected. so im little confuse about there when i try or read a sentences with 밖에 because of it.

    What book should I buy for Intermediate level?

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky
      @KoreanwithMissVicky  2 года назад +1

      There's a wide variety of choices when it comes to books, so it's hard to recommend just one. You can look into TTMIK books that suit your level, or I also have this book called "McGill Korean2" and I think it's good for intermediate learners. I like how they organized the content.

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky
      @KoreanwithMissVicky  2 года назад +1

      it's honestly not that hard if you put in the right effort! once you start getting the hang of it, it'll get easier from there. but harder at the same time ofc because your level gets higher and so is the level of what you're learning~

      it's hard when you are learning it by yourself like I am and with no guidance or korean people to practice with.....I'm sure if we were in an actual class with a professional teacher then we'd learn 100X quicker. We just have to continue with this journey. okay, dumb ass? lol

    Mam please tell me why 나뭇입이 sounds like 나문닙이

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky
      @KoreanwithMissVicky  2 года назад +2

      You can check this post : www.korean.go.kr/front/onlineQna/onlineQnaView.do?mn_id=216&qna_seq=128345
      Basically ㅅ 받침 in 나뭇잎 is something called "사이시옷, which means in-between ㅅ받침 that's put between two different words. In the case of 나뭇잎, ㅅ is placed between the two words "나무(tree)" and "잎(leaf)" so it's also considered a 사이시옷. When 사이시옷 is combined with "이, 야, 유, 여, 요, 예", it follows "ㄴ 받침 + ㄴ consonant" assimilation rule. So 나뭇잎 is pronounced 나문닙, like 깻잎 is pronounced 깬닙, 뒷윷 is pronounced 뒨늇 etc.

    sometimes I feel like it will be best for everyone to study and get a firm grasp or basic korean from resources like talk to me in korean before we ever proceed to delve into videos like these because a lot of other questions arrive outside the scope of the main topic being discussed and it can can create rather confusing comprehension. Very educative videos, nonetheless. These will save me a lot of money from having to take classes from online teachers like on iTalki haha

      Hi. I checked your comment history, and this blog post might help you a bit more guiding you where to start and how to build up : explorekorean.com/blog/beginner-guide-to-korean
      Maybe Yessi씨 thinks you're in an unfavorable situation to learn Korean, but there are plenty of free resources to use and also many free platforms that allow you to connect with native speakers. You've just gotta do some research and take advantage of those. Also, the lessons I create recently are for learners above high-beginner to intermediate level, which means it requires a certain level of knowledge of Korean grammar to understand. When you're a at a beginner level, you can't expect to watch a lesson above your level and understand it. In the blog post, I have a playlist of essential lessons for beginner learners, and you can check them out. There are so many other resources freely available and I'm sure many of them will help you get a firm grasp of the basics.
