Had read the book first. You get angry. You throw the book across the room. Then you pick it back up because you HAVE TO KNOW! It's from Catelyn's perspective, and her internal thoughts are even more gut wrenching! Later, watching it as it first aired, we knew what was coming, but the pace is different! It's happening whether you want it or not, but it rolls one relentlessly and you can't even take a break from it!
GRR Martin, in an interview after this episode came out, said "Now you know why your book-reading friends were all depressed for the month or so after the book came out 10 years ago....".
LOL that sounds like the anger I got from [especially the Korean version of] "Miracle in Cell No. 7". (!!). That's an INFAMOUS tearjerker but anger suppresses tears so much for ME that I COULDN'T cry to that. It was actually very uncomfortable lol.
Oh my sweet summer child... Now you know our pain. The song they were playing that clued Catelyn in that things were going wrong was "The Rains of Castamere" The singer for The National and Sigur Ros have both done great covers of it. It's the story of House Castamere, and how they rebelled against the Lannisters and were entirely decimated as a result.

Red wedding reaction never gets old. At this point people are so invested in those characters lol. Also Ash trying to enjoy this as little as possible:)
I'm sure someone has said it, but the "sad" song they played was the Reigns of Castamere - the song made famous describing how Tywin crushed the rebeling Castameres down to the last child. ( Cersi makes reference to the Reigns when she threatens margery).

I always laugh when Gilly compares Sam to a wizard. Sam told John when they first met that when he was a kid he wanted to be a wizard. When Gilly says that Sam gets this goofy smile on his face like f*** yeah, I'm a wizard! Also Ygrite intentionally miss the shot at the old man who jumped on the horse. John called her name, she paused, then she intentionally missed because she wanted him to. This opinion is based on Tormund's opinion of her archery skills, and the way she looks back at John after she misses the shot. Last, the song played is the reins of Castamere. This is the Lannister song played for enemies to emphasize why you don't challenge them and that the cost is death.
I've been waiting for you to react to this epidode. The reactions to The Red Wedding was what got me into Game of Thrones and boy will it forever leave a mark on you
The worst thing about the red wedding, is it never stops. It just keeps going, worse and worse, and you don't see anything coming! Fkin brutal episode for everyone that watched haha
I actually had to pause the video just before things kicked off from second-hand anxiety lmao. Hannah legit kinda made me feel like I was rewatching the thing again for the first time
The "croutons" are bread and salt, which invoke "guest right," (feels like it should be rite, but that's not what seems to be used) which is the tradition that once a guest has eaten food from a host's table, neither guest nor host will harm the other for the duration of the visit. It's considered sacred in Westros, especially in the North, which is reflected at the windmill when Bran tells one of Old Nan's gruesome stories about one time when guest right was violated. Once the salt and bread was consumed (and I believe there was a throw away line somewhere about how anxious Kat was for it to occur), the Starks had every reason to believe they'd be safe at the wedding, but Frey's a vindictive a-hole who set aside every cultural norm for the sake of revenge.
Aw Hannah I was dreading this FOR YOU😭 you’re such a beautiful soul. I was incapacitated for a good 2 hours after this. Don’t blame you! Keep watching it gets better 🫶🏼
If Jon Snow let Ygritte kill a wildling for him, the wildings would have killed her. So he knocked her down. If Jon Snow takes Ygritte with him back to the Night Watch, she will be killed. The safest place for Ygritte was to stay with the wildings and Jon knew it. The infamous "Red Wedding" singlehandedly brought a huge gain in popularity for reaction channels. Hannah is a natural for reactions. Very genuine. I hope Ash can convince her to continue the GoT series. It is a roller-coaster of feelings with 'ups' and 'downs'. The 'downs' hurt, but that only makes the 'ups' all the more satisfying.
I watched every episode live. On that Sunday, I missed the episode. After my day ended on Monday I was going directly home and watching it but I had to go to dinner with friends and it got spoiled mere hours before I watched it. I never missed a Sunday again lol.

Aw, poor Hannah. This is a very famous episode because of that scene. Ash probably should have given you a few more minutes to process it before coming in. I don't blame you for your response to him. Lol
I think all of us were hurt that badly upon first viewing. It takes a couple days before you get curious about what's happening next in the story, and that's normal. The show came out weekly originally, so we all had that full week to digest and make ready for the next episode. I hope you come back around too, Hannah!
That's how I reacted when I saw [the Korean version of] "Miracle in Cell No. 7". (!!). I actually seek out tearjerkers (on purpose, for the associated endorphins that often come with tears), but after "Miracle in Cell No. 7", I took at least two days before wanting to watch ANYthing new, lol.
Catelyn, after seeing Robb murdered. It hurts so much, she thought. Our children, Ned, all our sweet babes. Rickon, Bran, Arya, Sansa, Robb… Robb… please, Ned, please, make it stop, make it stop hurting… The white tears and the red ones ran together until her face was torn and tattered, the face that Ned had loved. Catelyn Stark raised her hands and watched the blood run down her long fingers, over her wrists, beneath the sleeves of her gown. Slow red worms crawled along her arms and under her clothes. It tickles. That made her laugh until she screamed. “Mad,” someone said, “she’s lost her wits,” and someone else said, “Make an end,” and a hand grabbed her scalp just as she’d done with Jinglebell, and she thought, No, don’t, don’t cut my hair, Ned loves my hair. Then the steel was at her throat, and its bite was red and cold. It hurts so much, she thought. Our children, Ned, all our sweet babes.
Poor Hannah- watching you cry made me cry! You are not the only one that had a breakdown over this horrendous episode. Welcome to the "GoT has traumatized me" club

‘Not my hair. Ned loves my hair’
@@flightdub6056 that's the one that set me to crying!
Nobody has ever said " The Rains Of Castamere" so enthusiastically.
Hannah is traumatized and Ash ran in there like the Kool Aid Man
Notification on and ready to join in on this sadistic watch party😂 We ❤ you Hannah. Please don't take it personally.
Omg this guy's behavior is so toxic.
But the episode was one of the most shocking in my entire life. I mean it.
Game Of Thrones became a cultural and global phenomena after this episode aired 🔥🔥
It changed television forever 🔥🔥
Oh my sweet summer child... Now you know our pain. The song they were playing that clued Catelyn in that things were going wrong was "The Rains of Castamere" The singer for The National and Sigur Ros have both done great covers of it. It's the story of House Castamere, and how they rebelled against the Lannisters and were entirely decimated as a result.
Ash looked like he was holding in his laughter the entire time he was consoling you 🤣
@@Krucifus Yeah sometimes people react to disturbing things. sometimes they even get emotional. imagine that. wild.
@@Krucifuscrying is natural and normal. being emotional is normal. if you think it's embarassing\stupid\shameful then that's something YOU have to work on.
@@emucat1No, it wasn't. It was a painful, upsetting episode.
@@emucat1Sorry love, but you dont get a cookie for being numb.
@@emucat1 Maybe I picked the wrong word? Calloused, maybe? Or jaded? Anyway, just let people express their emotions. Even if they get emotional over a "make believe story" and you dont understand. It's fine, I promise.
Everyone thinks they're no longer sweet summer children after Ned's death, but this is the episode that actually makes it so. 💔
Side note: I feel like that close-up of the butt-vase at the beginning was just for me (even though I know it wasn't) 😂 Thank you for that, I've commented on it before! 😂
there's still many storms to come
Great that Hannah hadn't been spoiled all these years like damn it hit her so hard Ash stopped joking about it lmaooo
The night the world stood still in absolute shock.
I felt the same way, Hannah. I thought I’d never watch the show again. I was so traumatized that I couldn’t even cry. I didn’t even watch ep 10 until season 4 started. I’m sorry that you don’t have that luxury. Unfortunately, it’s a rite of passage that every GoT fan has had to endure.
That sounds like the anger I got from [especially the Korean version of] "Miracle in Cell No. 7". (!!). That's an INFAMOUS tearjerker but anger suppresses tears so much for ME that I COULDN'T cry to that. It was actually very uncomfortable lol.
@@sathvamp1 Hmm... I might have to check that out.
@@melissavukelic4138 Addendum: Even though I was too angry to cry to the Korean version, later I watched the TURKISH version and for some reason (probably the WAY they did it, although major themes were the same)... the TURKISH version DID make me cry... between 5-6 times (I started to lose count)! If you watch them both , I would suggest watching the Korean version BEFORE the Turkish version of "Miracle in Cell No. 7" instead of the other way around, lol.
i've just started watching game of thrones and i just watched this episode about 10 minutes ago and cried so hard and knew i had to come watch your reaction straight away. love your content heaps hannah xx
I was SO excited when I found out you had own channel, Hannah. I enjoy watching you a lot. You’re just fun.
When a crying girl asks you to go away so she can process her feelings, it doesn't mean get in her face and laugh hysterically at what she's going through
Exactly! 100% he should have let her process her own disbelief, shock and sadness on her own terms instead of 'Surprise! I've been watching and laughing at your expense!' Let the poor girl sit with herself and her feelings ffs.
Right? She's going to remember this scene forever, and his laughing is going to taint a large part of that
Red wedding reaction never gets old.
I've never seen anybody get as emotionally invested in a Movie/TV show as Hannah. She's the absolute LEGEND of authentic, piss yourself laughing, 100% solid gold reactions 😂
That´s not just a sad melody. That´s the Lannister song called The Rains of Castamere.
This is by far the best episode in the entire series it was just pure joy and excitement.
Oh Hannah😢
I’ve already watched the series but seeing you cry watching this made me cry too!! I love watching you guys
Thank you for your genuine reaction, it was amazing even though it was heartbreaking💛
I never comment on anything but my anger issues wouldn't be able to handle having an Ash like that at the end. Especially the laughing. Nope. I'd be done lol
I am the same way Hannah. Like, please, give me some space when I'm this upset 😭 I don't want to be touched or talk to anyone. Hugs Hannah xx
Hannah being all happy and goofy at the beginning 😊
The voice in my head:
"And who are you? The proud Lord said... " 😐🎻
I remember I watch this on a school night at like 4 AM. It changed me forever. Pure sadness most shocking thing I’ve ever seen on a TV show.
What a great reaction, the emotion you showed on your face was so real.
This is the Lannister song played for enemies to emphasize why you don't challenge them and that the cost is death.
hannah, tahnk you so much for sticking with us throughout this enomous suffering. we appreciate you
The cruellest thing about this is ash ccoming in at the end, mocking.
The bread and salt is a rite to establish guest right :)
@@peterretep4009 clearly you understand my pain! Lol
The opening “Game of Thrones” song by Hannah was lovely!
Aw Hannah I was dreading this FOR YOU😭 you’re such a beautiful soul. I was incapacitated for a good 2 hours after this. Don’t blame you! Keep watching it gets better 🫶🏼
The music wasn't a lullaby.. it was "The Rains of Castamere"
The song of the Lannisters
That's why Catelyn look up immediately
And if Jon stayed any longer, Tormund might kill him. I don’t see any reason for him to think Tormund wouldn’t make good on the threats. Time to go!
@@0okamino Very true
I watched every episode live. On that Sunday, I missed the episode. After my day ended on Monday I was going directly home and watching it but I had to go to dinner with friends and it got spoiled mere hours before I watched it. I never missed a Sunday again lol.
I don't know who you are but I LOVE YOU 😂😂😂 just found your channel and you've got a very interesting personality
"We have a smile at a wedding. Do you know what that means to me in this..."
Girl I am so so sorry....
I wish you could’ve had your moment to feel your feelings and have time to just think about what you just saw. 😢
this was the first video i saw of yours because it randomly showed up in my recommended, and i enjoyed it so much i've been watching your full game of thrones playlist in order. just caught up, can't wait to watch this again with more context = D
Ash should of let her cry more before he came in grinning like a goofball, but then again we are all ash right now 😂
Should _have_ ☝🤓
But none of us barged in where we were not invited and overrode her reactions with our own.
I just commented this. I wish he would have given her a few more minutes.
He honestly ruined it for me. Just let people stay in their emotions, jeez.
I’m so excited! I love seeing peoples first reaction to this episode. Can’t wait for the next one.❤
PERFECTION IN A REACTION!! Love including ash too. When he fell behind the clouch laughing i died 🤣
Thank you both for being awesome!!
YES- I felt bad laughing at Ash laughing at Hannah's reaction, but he was being hilarious!
19:25 this moment made us feel save and thinking this is a wholesome episode, oh how wrong we where.....
Well she handled that better than I thought she would.
Well this is why we were are all here, did not disappoint. We love you H. Stay strong.
Oof. I'm sorry Hannah, we all went through this with you. Infamous episode
I friggin love ya girl. You made this SOOOOOOOO fun to watch
love your reaction, his sympathy does not seem genuine.
😂😂 he kept holding his laugh
This is beautiful. Everything u said lead soo perfectly up to the decisive moment
Aw, poor Hannah. This is a very famous episode because of that scene.
Ash probably should have given you a few more minutes to process it before coming in. I don't blame you for your response to him. Lol
AGREED!
We were all waiting for this reaction
I wish that Ash would’ve just let Hannah feel her emotions without interrupting
Me too! She needed time to process it.
That was the best part though
@@WhosThatBird_No, it was disrespectful. And she shouldn't have apologized for yelling at him.

Oh you sweet summer child.
Hannah and Ash are great there reactions to shows and movies are great keep up the great content guys ✌️
Might wanna put that in quotations.
Poor Hannah- watching you cry made me cry! You are not the only one that had a breakdown over this horrendous episode. Welcome to the "GoT has traumatized me" club
let's admit it - gleeful Ash reaction is our reaction too. sending hugs your way Hannah you're a legend!
