Thanks for the tribute. I’m not leaving due to any of the fan interactions. Really, at the worst they are a minor irritation. I’m moving on because my contract finished at the end of Cosmic Fury, and there are no further opportunities on the franchise beyond this. I’ve loved my time on Power Rangers, and hope that I’ve been able to make a bit of difference during my time on the show. I can’t wait for people to experience Cosmic Fury.

Because there are rumors going around that the main Power Rangers TV show is ending and I really hope it isn’t true.
It is amazing to me how people treat each other on the internet. There is a lot of hate out there, and sadly a lot of people don’t know how to separate People’s personal lives from their professional lives. I hope that Simon and the rest of the crew that are leaving the show have successful careers, and I’m honestly excited to see what happens to the show in the future. I’m kinda concerned about the change in location, even though it’s also exciting, just because New Zealand and it’s culture have been so involved with the show and it’s actors for so many years. But a change doesn’t always mean a bad thing, so I’ll wait and see what happens before I make any judgements. I’d love to travel to New Zealand at some point though and visit all the filming spots! That would be an amazing vacation through PR history! Great video and thanks for always trying to be positive about the show and community

I've seen a lot of mean tweets and I don't understand it. I don't see how people even look at him and say he is making the show bad. He has done great. I just don't get it.

Things we’ve discussed before: Target audience, storylines, writing, etc. if they don’t meet someone’s standard, people are more likely now-a-days to tell someone off on twitter or write comments on Facebook/instagram photos that they probably wouldn’t say in person (or at least you’d hope they give it a second thought in person). And some people just don’t give it a second thought to pester him about their idea or questions about the future of the show, not thinking about how he legally can’t really tell us anything or he’d lose his job. It’s a strange situation for sure. I don’t really know how to fix that, but hopefully as more fans become aware of the process and the requirements and legalities of working on a tv show goes, it will get better. To be honest, I have never given much thought to what an Executive producer of a tv show does until I started researching it a few years ago. It’s a lot of hard work, a lot of guidelines and restrictions from networks, creators, etc. as I’m sure you know and understand, but many people don’t. And yes, I’d be sad too if there isn’t an official power rangers headquarters in New Zealand but maybe someone could put together a guided tour? I’d still love to see locations and take pictures. But I’d also love to do that in California too 😂 I’d love to travel more, but until my Masters is done, I’ll probably be staying in place for a bit

I don't know, it's more expensive in the US and pr has always been a low budget sort of a david vs Goliath sort of thing. Canada is a decent choice. But it will really change a lot about it. New Zealand has been a massive part of power rangers for 2 decades... so its going to be an adjustment

I actually just started watching Dino Fury and when I took the nostalgia glasses off, I discovered it’s actually pretty decent. So if he’s the main reason for the improvement from the previous era then I have concerns. But on the optimistic side, it’s possible that they bring somebody in who will just build on what he’s been doing and take it to the next level as opposed to completely changing the formula.
Luckily power rangers has a pretty good formula. In instances like this, that is helpful for someone to take over. I think we will be okay, but Simon did do a lot of good for the franchise. I love some of those old seasons, but Dino Fury is honestly a really great season and over time it will gain more and more respect.
It still has to maintain a kid audience. Collectibles can only sell so much. The little kids getting toys is important. So they can't only make content for adults
All the things there doing is pointing more and more towards the reboot which is exciting but I would have loved to keep Simon and the other writers for the animated show and or kids show that Hasbro has talked about having along side the reboot. It needs an entirely new production team!! Power rangers as it is today, super sentai adapted... it needs to end completely, and start from scratch using the show's and comic's source material, they need to stop adapting sentai completely cos its holding the franchise back and I am sorry but super sentai designs have gone downhill too. Power rangers have enough source material, we don't need to keep adapting super sentai and keeping the franchise stuck in the past visually and creatively I honestly think if they stop adapting sentai and start from scratch using all the zord and suit designs from MMPR-SPD at least, I believe it could outshine, outsell and overtake star wars, MCU and DCU when it comes to live action superhero content. I really do think if modernised properly, it can be as big as it was in the 90s again, not overhauling anything, keep the suit designs, keep the zord designs, increase the budget, retell all the stories and seasons, could win back a lot of former fans who grew out of it, but can't get back into it cos it's stuck in the past. Power rangers doesn't need to be cheesey and camp, and by staying this way, it's never reaching its full potential as a franchise. It needs to be cool and impressive and inspiring and action packed. No one thought the 90s show was that cheesey at the time because everything was like that in the 90s, it's only cheesey cos it refuses to grow and modernise.

Im content on what I grew up with . MMPR - Mystic Force and RPM ( skipped Operation Overdrive , Jungle Fury ) . These 2 year seasons never needed to happen, it was all a waste of time. The MMPR nostalgia also was never needed in the seasons from Samurai to now. This show needed good writers again, especially from In Space - Wild Force. That’s where I think they shined the most. I’m passing on the reboot, dropping sentai, IF THATS TRUE , is stupid as hell. Don’t fix what isn’t broke, just hire good writers again, and writers that actually know the source material. Sentai is what made Power Rangers, I looked forward to finding out the next set of suits and themed we would get each year. Then they started skipping adaptations of certain sentais, that was the first mistake. They claim Cosmic Fury has their own original suits etc. its a Hasbro repaint of the Dino Fury suits that you can buy from a Party City store with padded muscles. They even robbed us of adapting Kyuranger. That sentai has imo the best Ranger suits out there and they reduced it to nothing and on top of that, the mans dipping out of PR who even made this choice. A big finger to fans right? Hasbro cant get any of their franchises off the ground, they never could. Hasbro is also woke as hell, they already inserted that crap into Dino Fury, you know, a show aimed for kids. Rebooting the series isn’t going to go well either. Because again you’re taking away 30 years of what made people even love this franchise. The 2017 movie was good imo, and that tone should be PR going forward IF they wanted a bit more mature themes. But you can still do that and adapt sentai. An original new team sounds just as bad as the bootleg figures you’d find at the dollar store of Power Rangers. You know it isnt Power Rangers but its still being sold as if it was.

Every fandom has their issues. This one has a large pool of people who dont watch anymore but still interject their opinion whether they know what's going on or not. So that gets frustrating.
I think Hasbro might’ve solved some of the issues with shows story but they still suck at promoting the show and that’s an issue for the fandom. The guys harassing the producers are still bad but that what I think.

Who is Doctor O / Not our Tommy There is something fishy in the town of Reefside . A huge theory has it that this Tommy might not be our Tommy and that may just be the case . Mind you i dont believe he is evil who wants to conquer Earth based on abandoned plots . However most of the theory sticks This is not Tommy Oliver - He is Doctor O a professor . Besides the ranger archive , there is no absolute backstory for what he was doing , we only had Zeltrax , Smithy from for all we know Messegog could have replaced the name of whoever did this to him with Tommy . He did build him from scratch - Besides Zeltrax and Elsa , nobody calls him Tommy . Even evil Trent called him Doctor Oliver Doctor O - At the end of Dino Thunder , their entire base was destroyed and with no way to rebuild their Dino Gems , let alone a Master Morpher So what was his endgame ? To have 3 teenagers with attitude so he can pervert the idea , have actual rangers on his side without affecting the Morphing Grid . Meet Lord Drakon . His plan failed only because the villains where too strong and left him with absolutely NOTHING . Also , real Tommy would have sacrificed himself his zords his powers only , his life , we would never destroy the zords or the powers
simon is probably the best person we could have as executive producer but the show will be fine without him as long as he isnt replaced by a horrible person
You give this man way too much credit. It's good that he's gone. All he's done is focus on MMPR, rebooting MMPR and cheap fan service. Tommy, Jason, Billy, Lord Zedd, legendary this, and legendary that. He's no different than Power Rangers Super Megaforce.
You don't give him enough credit. I have no doubt he works massive overtime to keep the show on track. No matter what the pay is, working a job with that many hours is grueling. I've worked a job with a lot of over time and it was draining. People would just tell me I'm being compensated but that didn't make it worth it. Giving homage to mmpr is okay. If youve watched my stuff a lot, you should know I'm not a giant mmpr guy. In my opinion it's one of the worst seasons overall. But he also brought in elements of rpm in beast morpher. And has done a great Jon with dino fury which stands on its own even without Lord Zedd

Paying homage to MMPR is fine, Dino Thunder is a perfect example of this: They brought back Tommy and had him be be a central figure to the plot, used the evil 6th ranger, and even summarised all of power rangers history, while still focusing on making Dino Thunder it's own thing. The problem is when you over do it. and make constant call backs and nonsensical cameos, for no other reason than fan service. Which shows that you'd rather be working on mmpr. This just tells everybody that mmpr was the best thing ever, and I know you've explained that if mmpr was the really the best then this show wouldn't have lasted 30 years.
@@zyuranger21 i guess it can be opinion but dino fury I feel stands 100% on its own even if you leave out the lord zedd episodes. The characters are outstanding. I think the hits at the original are used well. They don't over do it. Beast Morphers only did a couple episodes with ASJ and it was simply to use the Sentai footage (i believe). Honestly the more I watch Dino Fury the more I feel it's one of the best seasons of all time

I want Power Rangers to still adapt their sentai counterparts as in their suits, villians megazords etc ands tell good stories again. We've been adapting a sentai for 30 years, and I think we should continue to keep adapting it, but it doesnt need to be 2 years worth of the same season and they slap a ''Super'' title to it. Don't try to explain what Power Rangers is to me lol The expectation is to again, hire better writers like we had before , tell good stories like In Space, Time Force , RPM did to just name a few .
insane that I have to edit this to explain what PR's been doing, we always been adapting sentai, didnt say adapt sentais stories. Tell our own stories but continue to adapt the sentai as in everything else, the THEME of the season, suits, zords, villians, you know....what we've always done..

Yeah this fandom can be full of themselves....they would argue so much about the smallest thing. But whatever.
Anyway, from my understanding, Hasbro made it clear that they are planning to reboot the franchise.....A more...connected, movie/shows/etc verse like the MCU/
Every fandom has their issues. This one has a large pool of people who dont watch anymore but still interject their opinion whether they know what's going on or not. So that gets frustrating.

I think Hasbro might’ve solved some of the issues with shows story but they still suck at promoting the show and that’s an issue for the fandom. The guys harassing the producers are still bad but that what I think.
Promotion, and all that isn't Simon's job. You can tell when Saban took it over again from Disney Merch and The actors got out there a lot more then they do when hasbro took over. Again that's not Simon's job. That is Who ever is looking over the franchise from Hasbro

Who is Doctor O / Not our Tommy
There is something fishy in the town of Reefside . A huge theory has it that this Tommy might not be our Tommy and that may just be the case . Mind you i dont believe he is evil who wants to conquer Earth based on abandoned plots . However most of the theory sticks

- He is Doctor O a professor . Besides the ranger archive , there is no absolute backstory for what he was doing , we only had Zeltrax , Smithy from for all we know Messegog could have replaced the name of whoever did this to him with Tommy . He did build him from scratch
- Besides Zeltrax and Elsa , nobody calls him Tommy . Even evil Trent called him Doctor Oliver Doctor O
- At the end of Dino Thunder , their entire base was destroyed and with no way to rebuild their Dino Gems , let alone a Master Morpher
So what was his endgame ?
To have 3 teenagers with attitude so he can pervert the idea , have actual rangers on his side without affecting the Morphing Grid . Meet Lord Drakon . His plan failed only because the villains where too strong and left him with absolutely NOTHING . Also , real Tommy would have sacrificed himself his zords his powers only , his life , we would never destroy the zords or the powers

but the show will be fine without him as long as he isnt replaced by a horrible person

You give this man way too much credit. It's good that he's gone. All he's done is focus on MMPR, rebooting MMPR and cheap fan service. Tommy, Jason, Billy, Lord Zedd, legendary this, and legendary that. He's no different than Power Rangers Super Megaforce.
You don't give him enough credit. I have no doubt he works massive overtime to keep the show on track. No matter what the pay is, working a job with that many hours is grueling. I've worked a job with a lot of over time and it was draining. People would just tell me I'm being compensated but that didn't make it worth it.
Giving homage to mmpr is okay. If youve watched my stuff a lot, you should know I'm not a giant mmpr guy. In my opinion it's one of the worst seasons overall. But he also brought in elements of rpm in beast morpher. And has done a great Jon with dino fury which stands on its own even without Lord Zedd

Paying homage to MMPR is fine, Dino Thunder is a perfect example of this: They brought back Tommy and had him be be a central figure to the plot, used the evil 6th ranger, and even summarised all of power rangers history, while still focusing on making Dino Thunder it's own thing.
The problem is when you over do it. and make constant call backs and nonsensical cameos, for no other reason than fan service. Which shows that you'd rather be working on mmpr.
This just tells everybody that mmpr was the best thing ever, and I know you've explained that if mmpr was the really the best then this show wouldn't have lasted 30 years.
@@zyuranger21 i guess it can be opinion but dino fury I feel stands 100% on its own even if you leave out the lord zedd episodes. The characters are outstanding. I think the hits at the original are used well. They don't over do it. Beast Morphers only did a couple episodes with ASJ and it was simply to use the Sentai footage (i believe).
Honestly the more I watch Dino Fury the more I feel it's one of the best seasons of all time

With such a long running series this is bound to happen, honestly here is when us as fans need to be lenient on the new show runners as they find their groove in power rangers as well as be kind to other fans who may not be ready to see their childhood change.
