As for the "Not every ranger wants to be an actor," the guy who played Leo in Lost Galaxy took the part to pay for law school. I believe he's still a lawyer.
He is a Lawyer. I never heard anything about him taking it for that purpose. But that's cool
ASJ didn't wanna be an actor. He did the audition on a bet.
Yeah, Leo's still a lawyer, a Partner at his Dad's firm. Dustin also spent time practicing law before going into real estate.
@@SIMPDUDE probably doing well for themselves.
i believe james napier (actor for conner from dino thunder) also took the part to pay for him to go to film school
I always find the irony in a Ranger actor somewhat getting sucessful afterwards, since in Japan Sentai and Rider roles are havily sought after by young actors looking for a way to break into the scene.
Why is that irony exactly?
@@mightymorphinconspiracythe5024 Just that you'd never expect Power Rangers to work like other Tokusatsu production that are more known to be career-boosters
@@SpectacularSpiderFan I don't really expect them to not so well
In japan super sentai and kamen rider along with the whole transforming hero theme is part of their culture. In the west on the other hand is like disco or other things that were very popular and then were just phased out.
more talent from toku actors too. and also the respect for the roles, just watch akibaranger or any KR after kuuga/agito.
Don't forget how JYB and Danie Southworth (Quantum Ranger) voice Nero and Virgil respectively in Devil May Cry!

Funny story, I actually recognized Sky Tate's actor as an extra in Queer as Folk on Showtime before I recognized him as SPD Blue. I later discovered Bridge's actor was on that show as well, playing an extra
I love spotting ranger actors in different things
I always get excited when I see a Power Ranger actor or actress appear in a movie or another show I watch.
I know! It is always exciting to me too

@@ironmaster6496 oh nice!
Another you forgot to mention was Anna Hutchison, Lily the yellow ranger from Jungle Fury. She is probably most recognizable outside of power rangers for Cabin in the Woods, with Chris Hemsworth (He has a lot of power rangers-adjacent co-stars, weirdly).
I think it's interesting to note the stigma that power rangers actors can sometimes carry into other auditions. I don't think it's necessarily blacklisting, but Power Rangers, especially in the early days, was known for hiring cheaply and not necessarily hiring based on acting talent. Carrying that into an audition may give the impression that you're not a good actor, and automatically colors peoples' expectations of your performance or capabilities.
It's like if two chefs were applying for a job in a restaurant, one who has experience in fine dining while the other has experience in a greasy spoon. Before you even interview, you have an impression of them both. It's the same with acting and auditions.
I like your chef analogy. Very true
I still can’t believe we lost Jason D Frank 😢 He will forever be the best 💯
I know man, truly sad to see your favorite hero gone...
I don't think a lot of people understand that acting in Power Rangers is different from acting in a major TV show, acting in Power Rangers you don't necessarily get paid that much and you don't get a ton of residuals, and even if you do they're very small. also many of them didn't necessarily continue acting after their time on the show or were unable to find more acting jobs. I've spoken to many over the years.
The show was non union (meaning the actors didn't make that much money or hardly anything at all), to begin with. It was that way from day one, that's why there's been so many cast changes. Even during the original MMPR, 3 of the originals walked out and got replaced. It's been that way ever since.
I did not know that.
Very true. And they basically work insane hours and come out of it like a blur
I dont understand why the show continues to be non union work, I mean working long hours for a pittance is tantamount to slave labor. It's no wonder the show continues to fall down a pit of mediocrity some times when it comes to acting, directing and writing if the people meant to do important jobs aren't being paid what they are worth.
@@bobbyshaddoe3004 I mean comparing a low paying job that can get you enough international fame to make money on a comiccon circuit is hardly close to Slave Labor.
But the show has always been a low budget one. It's kept going probably because it was so low cost and the majority of people on the show are completely unknowns. I am all for people getting residuals for the streaming that happens over time but they signed up for it knowing exactly what it intales. Even Azim from megaforce was roommates with Alex (jayden) from Samurai. Even after Alex experienced it he still encourage Azim to do it. So there have to be some benefits to it.
I never knew this about the Power Rangers actors. It’s interesting to find out that some of the Power Rangers actors can be successful in their own way. I have to say Power Rangers RPM feels more of the better-made series condensing it launch like three to four actors mostly Eka Darville, Rose McCulver, Adeline Kane, Dan Ewing, and some of the others maybe.
A lot of them are successful behind the scenes or voice acting. And people can provide for their family and not be in major blockbuster movies
Bryan Cranston was literally an OG voice actor for MMPR
Like... He was important enough to for a shout out in a name, Billy Cranston
He was the original American voice actor for Snizzard and Twin Man
Yes he was

Being chosen as a ranger is an honor! So when a ranger asks for help, we as fans should only say “ how can we help?”
They are humans just like all of us. I understand some people have reservations but no amount of money will ever heal their hearts for losing a child. And with Claire, there isn't anything wrong with her asking for help. If people dont want to help. Just don't give anything. No one is twisting their arm.
@@mightymorphinconspiracythe5024 It's something that really needs to be looked at from a certain perspective. These people are in a sense, joining something to portray a hero to the younger generation. So down the road, when they might ask for help, any of that younger generation they may have been a positive inspiration upon, can give back to their childhood hero. It's a loop of positivity that can hopefully gain traction and continue.
@@kivulifenrir we all need help at some point. They are human beings too
I also wanted to add that Yoshi Sudarso was in The Brothers Sun on Netflix, which is a pretty big show.
Yoshi has done actually really well for himself. He's been in a lot and he pops up in a lot of martial arts movies
Cristina Vee, the first female Black Ranger, also has a successful career, and is also a host and VO director
Yes she does pretty well for herself
Dude, great video. The idea that success is different for each person is crazy to some people, but it’s true. And the idea of what you define as successful can change.
I’m glad you found what makes you feel successful brother. I just accepted a position teaching at a technical college next semester. While I’ll always love teaching at the high school level, I think this will be a better fit for me. But I would never have dreamed of that as a successful move for me even just years ago.
But now, being able to have a flexible schedule for my family & youth ministry is more important than just keeping the same career because it’s comfortable.
Keep up the great work man!

Well said
Rose Mciver went on from power rangers to make some pretty decent things.
Loved her in iZombie, was a whole vibe
I have to be honest I've sent a few episodes but I am not a zombie person. It skeeves me out lol but I love Rose she's awesome
It sad to see this; compared to super sentai and Kamen Riders where it more like a big opportunity in the entertainment industry acting in power rangers is basically like acting in theaters.
It has lessons for young people in the industry, but its no guarantee. Honestly its like someone who majors in Music Performance or Theater in college. It's experience. You learn a lot but you are guaranteed a job in the future
Johnny Yong Bosch is also the voice behind Broly 😁
He's done a ton of stuff
If there is a dub, JYB is in it.
@@supernerd8067 lmao, true 😂
JYB is only the voice for Broly in the DBS movie and the newer video games as of 2019.
The OG DBZ Broly was voiced by Vic Mignogna, who was fired from the Funimation staff after being blacklisted from the industry for repeatedly sexually harassing female coworkers in the workplace (unwanted flirting is sexual harassment regardless of whether certain members of society don't want to accept the workplace as a sex-free space) and engaging in wildly inappropriate conduct with fans at conventions (being a 30+ year old man making sexual comments & jokes with literal high school-aged teenagers)

10:13 People forget that PR is literally an entry level casting, and in all of Hollywood residuals is extremely hard to get into your contracts. Especially as a young blood on the block.
They work with people at the beginning of their careers for a reason. And honestly the people who have experience are the Australian and New Zealand actors who dont have many options for work
Not just anime and games, but also Johnny does foreign films. He got to do the voice of Ultraman Blazer.
Brandon Jay McLaren also appeared in several episodes of Being Erica. An awesome Canadian show about Time Travel.
Rose McIver also appeared on Once Upon a Time as Tinkerbell.
Brandon was also in Harper's island an season of slasher
I wish people would understand that not all actors are rich. Acting as a job just like any other, different skillset but the pay is usually the same
Hollywood or entertainment is a very foreign idea to most people

Keith Robinson has one of the more extensive IMDB’s for a former power rangers actor. He was in multiple movies with Tyler Perry and Kevin Hart. And he’s been in the live action Fat Albert movie.
I need to check him out more. I know he has a singing career. Not sure how much he does that. But he has recorded albums

Bro your content is amazing. You touch on so many topics. For fans it’s interesting when the content goes further than just being on the power rangers set. It is a step of exposure, the actor has to do the work beyond that
First of all thank you for the compliment. That is very kind of you. I am a drummer and Guitar Center use to have a drum off competition. It was a huge global thing. And the people who win arent professional musicians. Some win and then just sit back and wait for the calls to come in. And nothing happens. Others start calling around asking to do clinics. Start Making videos for drum set brands. They invest money into this opportunity they earned. But some didn't go anywhere because they thought they made it when it was just an opportunity to do something. That'd with Power Rangers. There are some who think they have this in the bag now... but they dont
This is a great video! Thanks for making this one. 🤙🏾💙🤙🏾
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you liked it
A lot of Disney Rangers crossed over into other ABC/Disney serials. David DeLautour and Jason Smith both played characters on Legend of the Seeker. Archie Kao was on Desperate Housewives. Chris Violette had several guest appearances in the newer Star Trek series. Nic Sampson was in a mediocre movie as a supporting character, and had a furthered his acting career over the years outside of PR. Hilary Shepard (Divatox) had a career before, during and after Power Rangers; she is quite recognizable (and NOT) having three episodes on Star Trek Deep Space Nine in the 90s in two different roles!
That's cool, a lot of those actors have done well
Some of them were given the roles for Power Rangers, because of the martial arts and not necessarily because they were well known actors. That's probably why some of them struggled with other roles later on, because what worked for Power Rangers doesn't work for another show. Unless you're typecast.
Yes! I completely agree
@@mightymorphinconspiracythe5024 Yeah, like just a few years prior to JDF passing away he did a voice over role for a bear in a Cartoon Network that was very similar to Tommy. Even his last movie (Legend Of The White Dragon), is Power Ranger influenced. So he definitely couldn't escape from that.
@@jerelminter he did some pretty low budget movies after PR but he was a martial arts guy. He is a legend in Power Rangers but I never watched him with the thought of what an incredible actor. His daughter Jenna took some acting classes and has said she would show things they did in class and sometimes he had no idea thats what you were suppose to do.
@@mightymorphinconspiracythe5024 Yeah, I have seen Jason David Frank in non Power Ranger roles, such as the episode in Family Matters when he was getting beat up by Steve Urkel (doing a Bruce Lee impersonation). Then he did some MTV thing, and years earlier was on Sweet Valley High (another Saban show). He was also supposed to be the main character of VR Troopers, but never did the series, only the pilot of it (when it was Cybertron). That was after the Green Ranger stuff ended, but he was called back to MMPR due to his popularity (which is why he stayed on the show for so long).
I know that Johnny Yong did Voice acting and the one I watched a lot was Ultraman Blazar which he voiced the main character as the English VA (Thank you Tsyburaya for having an English Dub simul-casted)
That's pretty cool
He also voiced the video game version of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight's MC
Beautifully said at the end. I went to film school with ideas of the Big Time and now am just happy working MUCH smaller projects while still having time to spend with my wife and friends. There's dignity in working on your terms.
Yes! There is and thats the reality too. More people end up doing this and honestly you and I are the lucky ones still finding a way to use our passion. So many people give up on it completely, because they can't make it to the level they thought they needed to get to. Plus family brings more happiness than anything else in this world.

Like 90% of actors don't go anywhere, if not more but a gig like Power Rangers is a career making job because you can do the con circuit afterwards.
Amy Jo Johnson was super popular in the 90s and she went on to do a lot of things.
Walter E Jones also had a really good career but you could argue he was on the way up before PR too.
They were both "actors" and a lot of the cast weren't. They were able to move on and do things afterwards, but its hard to be thrown into a job you have no experience in and then move on after that. Because they know how to act on Power Rangers but especially in the early days it was very different from other shows
This makes me think of Amy Adams. She was supposed to be the Lightspeed pink ranger but her agent told her the gig would “ ruin her career.”
Yes I have heard she was going to be a Pink ranger and backed out
You know who else had a pretty good career post-Power Rangers? Keith Robinson. By far, his best-ever role? Dreamgirls, alongside Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy.

She also appeared in an episode of Xena Warrior Princess when she was a kid. It was an episode where she and Xena were accidentally merged by Aphrodite, really fun episode.
Yes! Rose had quite a career prior to power rangers. She started in a shoe called maddigan's quest, along side Liv Tennett (Dr k)
I now know that not every Power Rangers actor, wanted to keep acting. It's totally fine that Johhny Yong Bouch does voice acting for animated shows. I didn't know Amy Jo Johnson did movies and directed episodes of Superman and Lois, so good for her. Erin Cahill is doing well for herself by doing Hallmark Channel movies. I don't watch those type of movies, but they must be doing well for her to keep being in them. Jason Faunt seems to be doing well also. I didn't realize most of the former Power Ranger actors had no acting experience and were n had become a EMT. If that's what he wants to do, then good for him. It probably pays better too.
Paid better than being on Power Rangers for sure
Keith Robinson from Light speed Rescue was in Dream Girls a long with a lot of other films

Some of the things you talk about in this video are EXACTLY why Audri Dubois decided to turn down the role of Trini. She has said in interviews that she was selected because of her martial arts training, NOT because she had any desire to become an actor. It was also the low pay, as the show would have required her to move from Phoenix to Los Angeles and leave her entire life behind for what was essentially going to be a minimum wage job.
Honestly I completely understand why and she had no idea it would blow up. And even though it did it wasn't till all these years later that they are really benefiting from it in any financial way.

Exactly, you can do the con circuit. That's a full time job if you want to make it a career. And it's tough to do.
But I'd hate for my video to come off negatively towards Claire. She didn't post it in any sort of evil way. She has family and friends who follow her social media, and it was a lot like family and friends getting something for you for your dorm. It wasn't a major exploit of the fans

@@digipeeper it'd sad to hear of suicides. Hopefully they enjoy coming back. PR actors don't always seem as happy to return
False a lot of actor are successful.@@digipeeper

but now with the cons it brought back life to the ranger love
Yes it definitely has, and had those early actors known they could make money off of it. Maybe they would of been happier lol
Major snub of Dan Southworth. Decent career aside he also voices Vergil in DMC.
That's awesome
Once and Always Lightspeed Rescue ? Ricky became a fire fighter . Hmmm in Marion Bay working for The Red Lightspeed Ranger . Bandora Protocol also listed Marion Bay . Did we get a small crossover ?
I would love to see something with the lightspeed rescue world again. Maybe a young team that is taking over and mentored by the original team
If the SAG AFTRA strike taught usnanything its that actors DO NOT make a lot of money...most make hardly any compared to regular 9-5 careers
Depends on the job really. There are lots of jobs that are low budget. Everyone hoping to make it by getting seen
Also dwayne Cameron was pretty known before doing power rangers
Amy is the most successful followed by Johnny bosch
Not that money is the main thing but i wonder if Johnny makes more honestly. He is in so much
@@mightymorphinconspiracythe5024 I would hope so he'd deserve to be amy has made many films 📼 that fans have paid for and a new comic that also made almost 90k in one day
@@dionneking8 they are doing okay in the acting world haha
Why does it seem like some of the female yellow rangers had roles where they were in full nude
Yellow spd
Yellow lost galaxy
Yellow jungle fury
Well I have heard most new Zealand actresses have done a nude scene. But I thinks that's because the market is so small there that if you were to say I'm not comfortable with that most likely you'd be blacklisted because the jobs are so few and far between. They can just work with people who are willing to do what they ask.
I remember I saw Nico Greetham aka Ninja Steel Yellow Ranger Calvin on Love, Victor. He kissed a boy and I blushed 😳
I haven't seen it but he's been in a couple different things
now u know what the meaning of Once a Ranger always a Ranger mean to there acting careers
Most of these actors are actually quite fond of being rangers. Brandon who played Jack Landers was just on a podcast talking about how power rangers helped his career.
The biggest thing people forget is few "Ranger" had more than a season or 2, they maybe make 100k per season, and once you hit 90k taxes in America take a huge chunk, with even more taken out for the seasons that are filmed outside of the US, not to mention paying for multiple types of insurance, a specific diet, gym memberships, and every other expenses regular people have to buy or pay. The other sad part is money most people think is life changing, really isn't. 1 million dollars doesn't go as far as people think, nor does net worth mean that's how much is in your bank account.
I mean a million dollars is life changing if you dont spend it on idiotic things all tbe time. And I don't think any of these actors got paid anywhere close to 100k.
Austin St John has said many times he was paid less than a McDonald's employee
@@mightymorphinconspiracythe5024 Austin wasn't union, and he actually said he made the equivalent to working at McDonald's, which can be a decent livable wage. But as it was stated in the video, the long hours for the pay isn't great, but I also know that the quotes some have said $100 an episode for MMPR, is a bold faced lie, with background characters making double that. You also have to look at the first 3 seasons having 60 episodes each, and it wasn't until Samurai that the episodes dipped below 30 a season. As for the million dollars, the government takes half in taxes, and with the housing market as it is, people are paying double to triple what a house used to cost. Even if you put the 500k in the bank, not spending a dime, and got the highest interest rate of 4%, you would still have to pay you financial advisor, and that is expensive.
@@nick_knows_stuff I would love to see where you got this information. Because I've never seen anything showing their pay from being on Power Rangers and you seem to have the exact numbers according to you on what their pay scale was, and its weird. I guess every actor from Power Ranger lies about their pay because ever solitary one has said they don't get paid as much as you say but I guess they all decided to lie about it.
@@mightymorphinconspiracythe5024 There is this supernatural entity called SAG that sets the prices for all actors (even background actors), which is easily accessible to anybody who uses this magical portal called the internet. Though no Ranger show was officially unionized untill 2018, there is a standard of living wage, and I've yet to learn any of the main actors having to work a second job or couch surf while on the show. As with many people, when they feel they " left money on the table", they get mad, and blame others. The real pathetic ones are the those who complain and don't join the appearance circuit. Getting a couple grand with travel and respectable lodging for a weekend, multiple times a year, only having to be nice to people who worship you, only want to take a pic with you, and have you sign a piece of paper while you sit down for a few hours, providing extra income the rest of your life, should be more than acceptable for making the amount of money a fast food worker makes for a year. And I also know most of this as a former SAG member, someone who was in pro wrestling and knows many former named wrestlers, plus working a job as a tax associate at H&R Block for about a decade has given me an real understanding of how money works. Plus I know people who while not rich, pay their bills just working fast food, and not even as a manager.
THAT POWER RANGER FROM WILD FORCE THAT HIGHLANDERED HIS ROOMMATE AND IS CURRENTLY IN JAIL TAKES THE CAKE!!!!!!!!!!
Don't really know what you mean by takes the cake. But its sad to see something like that happe
