This is a really great video of departing SFO. I've got some really good memories of a few times departing SFO myself, and this definitely brought them back.
Thank you! It is a 10 hour flight, not too bad, all things considered. It's about 11hours on the way back. I'll definitely try to do more climbout footage and post a longer video (when it's good weather!).
@bluenessaja Thanks for the comment. Yes, it was a quick right turn. I was listening to channel 9 (United's ATC channel), and the pilot had requested an immediate right turn after takeoff instead of the usual departure route. That request was granted, so that is probably why they did that immediate right turn.
@Flyermac Yes, thanks for the comment. Rolls royce engines also seem to have lots of trouble noted in the media recently: Qantas A380, BA 777, and now the Singapore A330!
@oakleyxmetalxx Thanks for your kind words. I'll try to video some take offs for longer, and then post them separately. that way the people who want to see the trip reports mainly don't get too frustrated with the long take off. Tahnks.
@raykrislianggi Thank you for the nice comment! I am glad that you enjoy this. Of course it is great if you download to you ipod. That is the whole point of youtube: to share! Thanks for your comment.
@rolvon Thank you. I was really lucky to get upgraded, so it was a nice chance to take a photo of the engine from that angle. I never have flown first class again since this time.
@jdbeo Yes, I fly internationally in business class almost all the time now. The 777 is very nice, but on United, they're not all upgraded to the new configuration. So in some ways, the 767 is a little better until all the 777's have been renovated.
Perfect vantage point on that turbofan -- thanks for the upload! Nice and heavy it looks like... Whats the flt-time on a typical haul from SFO to..... Frankfurt was it? Also, if you have an extended version with more climbout footage over the Bay then would love to see it.
I'm flighting this aircraft this summer and im wondering if its good in some ways, Is it quiet? Do they have Small tv's in economy class ect, please reply and which is better 777 in united Arilines or Lufthansa?
very nice video dude. nice smooth capture, very quick turnabout after takeoff eh? they usually get a bit more air before that right hand turn, guess pilot had too much coffee
@sfflyer123 That'd be the Shoreline One departure, I believe. Immediate right turn heading 040º after leaving the runway, across the bay and abeam Oakland airport at 4000', and in the hands of Oakland ARTCC by the time you cross the Oakland hills with clearance to your first waypoint (usually Linden, NV) Flight 926, I presume?
@MrMrckemi A330-300 on Lufthansa is an amazing experience!! I had a great flight on board. I can't compare the 777 to A330 though because I've never flown in a 777 before
@MrMrckemi i have never flown on LH's A330, so I don't know what the experience is like. I have flown on LH A340 and B747 and the economy product on A340 is excellent.
@metra0808 I am not familiar with the route, personally. I usually go for whatever is cheapest, unless I need the miles on UA. Perhaps others can chime in also.
@juaarreola I am not sure if the Pratt & Whitneys can do that, but I assume so. I think they have 90,000 to over 100,000 pounds of thrust and a diameter of over 10 feet. I'd imaging they could handle a bird strike. Yes, it does look weird seeing that engine from such an angle!
@alteredmoodsdeep Great info! I believe that is what I heard on channel 9. I assume that was 926. It's the SFO-FRA evening flight on UA. Thanks for the info. Are you a pilot or ATC person?
we are booking a trip to honalulu but i cant pick what airline that i want to fly i have my mind stuck on amercan airlines or united airlines what airline can i take guys?
Pratt & Whitney engines may consume a bit more, if they do that, but they are the quietest engines ever! The IAE is just noisy because Rolls-Royce makes the fans. I hate Rolls-Royce engines because of their tremendous sawmill-like noise.

@Tuffo3 Thank you very much for your nice comment. I'm glad it was able to bring back some good memories. Thanks again!

@coashddjj2 Thanks for your comment! I am glad that you were able to enjoy it. Thank you.
@marcoGismondi93 Thanks for the comment! I agree. The sound is always so nice.
@oakleyxmetalxx Thanks for your kind words. I'll try to video some take offs for longer, and then post them separately. that way the people who want to see the trip reports mainly don't get too frustrated with the long take off. Tahnks.

Wow, great video. You sure don't get a better view than that! The picture is so clear, too -- just beautiful.
Got to clear those hills! UAL barely missed them once in the 80's! Nice filming job my friend.
What an amazing sound capture :) I also like how you point out wing flex!! Wing flex is such a cool phenomena.
Excellent video against the sun. Love the sound of those Pratts!
@VerdugoCityRider Thank you very much! It's been hard to replicate this shot on other flights. Primarily because I am sitting in economy!
Spectactular!!! P&W spool up .. Wing Flex on climbout .. Incredible view after rotation .. = Priceless video!! way to go 5/5
@rolvon Thank you. I was really lucky to get upgraded, so it was a nice chance to take a photo of the engine from that angle. I never have flown first class again since this time.
Amazing quality...best PW sound ever...thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the comment! I agree about the sound. Very nice.
Thanks for your nice comment!
thumbs up for the nice roar of PW and GE engines
@dave4shmups Thank you! The flight was full in F. There were 2 non-revs in first. It was a great flight!
@EpicThe112 Thank you very much for your comment!
@RyDon85 Thank you so much for your nice comment!
THanks.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Very nice video dude and i love those wings on a 777...
Thanks. It's pretty rare for me to sit so far up front, so when I saw the engine, I had to record it!
Thank you very much!
Awesome video.
Thanks! It was unbelievable!!
Thank you. We landed in Frankfurt, Germany. It was an overnight flight!
@jdbeo Yes, I fly internationally in business class almost all the time now. The 777 is very nice, but on United, they're not all upgraded to the new configuration. So in some ways, the 767 is a little better until all the 777's have been renovated.
what an amazing view of the engine
Pratt & Whitney. "Safe & Reliable Engines"!
@Hediye Thank you!
that immediate bank on takeoff kinda reminds me of a special airport :D
Thank you.
SXM maybe?
I was in Manila for work--consulting. That is 95% of my travel!
Pratt and whitneys have some nice sound... Delta's 777 200lrs have those monster ge 90s like the ones in ur singapore video
@onecunningfox Thanks for the nice comment!
@airbuntie Thank you very much!
@frtguy80 Thank you for the comment!
@TheMayor5000 Thank you.
@crusazul Sure, it's SFO, or San Francisco.
@reedyspeedy12 Yes, the 777 has such powerful engines. It's really awesome.
Perfect vantage point on that turbofan -- thanks for the upload! Nice and heavy it looks like... Whats the flt-time on a typical haul from SFO to..... Frankfurt was it? Also, if you have an extended version with more climbout footage over the Bay then would love to see it.
@MRmatthieu49 Funny! Thanks for the comment!
@oakleyxmetalxx Yes, i could. But some people find them very boring, so i make them short. Why do you want them longer?
great picture
@rrrrrrtt1 Thank you very much! That's very nice of you.
@ie210 Thank you!
@metra0808 Yeah, sometimes I think I should have videoed for a little longer.
@khush295 Thank you. You are too kind!

Flight 926, I presume?
@easyJetAirbus Yeah, it's great isn't it? Some 777 engines dont' have such great sound, but the P & W's are nice!
beautiful video......
damn 11 years ago. but this video has good quality
@sfflyer123 I meant the A330-300, is it good though
@MrMrckemi A330-300 on Lufthansa is an amazing experience!! I had a great flight on board. I can't compare the 777 to A330 though because I've never flown in a 777 before

amazing video!! P&W4000 ENGINES!
@necessaryevil101 Yes, i agree with you. They're too "quiet"!
@sfflyer123 ive seen alot of these videos on youtube and this one by far is the best one. No problem
Video being processed. It won't let me view it.
@alteredmoodsdeep Thanks for that info. Aviation is a reat hobby/interest. I really love it. It makes flying more fun.
@jason11582623 Thanks, Jason!
Excellent. Manila is very nice. I like the lechon there. I had some adobo, which was very good, but I like the lechon better.
@jason11582623 Thank you!
@raykrislianggi Korean Air and Asiana Airlines have PW powered B777-200s
Awesome climb out! How full was this flight?
Full throttle takeoff?
I've been on the a320 and believe there was buzzing
@frtguy80 I hope those are good chills!
@alteredmoodsdeep Great info! I believe that is what I heard on channel 9. I assume that was 926. It's the SFO-FRA evening flight on UA. Thanks for the info. Are you a pilot or ATC person?
let me know when it's up.
we are booking a trip to honalulu but i cant pick what airline that i want to fly i have my mind stuck on amercan airlines or united airlines what airline can i take guys?
I cannot remember. It was 2 years ago.
@MrMrckemi The b777 is a great aircraft. They have small TV's in economy class on UA. LH does not fly the B777.
The GE90's are supposed to sound like this at full power
i will make a x-plane video of a united 777-200 taking off monterey
Maybe one day!
@sfflyer123 This is a good a take off video and there
@TheMinharotina United ain't too shabby either! :)

Do you like lechon?
Nothing GE about this... these are PW4090s!
the 777 is a nice plane very big engine's
Yes. agree.
I've never been on a 777 before
@juaarreola Just watch out for those Trent's freezing up half way in flight! Yikes!
You are so lucky you get to go to Europe and Asia
Thank you.
Nah, just an aviation nut who happens to travel a lot... :) Have been on that flight many times myself, but usually never in seat 2J :)

keep me posted

I mean let me know when your trip report is out. Hope you eat some lechon.
i hate whoever hates PW or GE engines
