I highly suggest that you make either a cardboard or foamboard template of your glass. Two reasons, one if they happen to be slightly out of square your measurements can be off. Two, you can check the fit a lot easier with the template being lighter and not as fragile. You can also cut a hole or holes in the template to be able to better hold it while checking the fit and reduce fighting the wind. It is a whole lot easier checking this way than fighting the glass up and down if your opening is a bit off. Best wishes.
@@michygoss7148 I forgot to mention. On larger pieces of insulated glass, if they are left sitting leaning, the weight of one side can actually slide down so that the sheets of glass are no longer aligned, which would make a change in the required opening. It does not always happen, but it also is not uncommon. The pieces that you have are not huge, but big enough for this occur. If you try to force them back into alignment, you are apt to caused seal failure.
You are a very smart and resourceful person. An inspiration to many. I am sure you have been asked, but you should be a blue jean model! You make blue jeans look great. Keep up the great videos, they are always inspirational, and fun to watch. Looking forward to those windows being done! Does seem challenging!
Make a simple stick frame model of your window to act as a template. Very light in weight which will allow you to test fit it before trying to hoist the permanent windows and chance damaging them. Watch all the time, really enjoy your videos. Take care Michelle. 🙃
You are amazing Girl you can figure out what to do,you dont let nothing stop you. Love you little chipmunks . I love your videos thank you for the great work and those beautiful green eyes. You stay safe and be careful.
Michelle, I've always believed animals can tell when a person has a good heart. I suspect that chipmunk thinks yours is the greatest. I also suspect he's very clear about when Winter is coming. Still rooting for you. Thanks for Sharing!
This is so fun and relaxing to watch but the amazing thing is the Chipmunk is hanging out on your side and your belt running up and down you yeah you do have a good friend.
I truly respect your ability to work and not have a fear of heights so close to that cliff edge. You make it look easy and you look lovely doing so. Stay at it.
I had tried it once in May, and it wouldn’t draft properly. All other issues checked out ok, so the company thought it must be the fact that the place wasn’t closed in yet. 🤷🏻♀️ We’ll see.
What’s a truck for if not to put it to work .. cool that you can hand feed chipmunks just wanted to thank you for the time and effort put into making these videos for us all to enjoy..😊 stay safe
Who the hell has enough leg strength to push a wheelbarrow uphill. I surely don't know anyone. BTW, those closeup shot starring into the camera, with those eyes, are hypnotizing.
WOW That water must be cold , but great for the body! Thank god for the fire place for warmth and tea.😅 The view ! You should make a 2nd story look out from the top windows some how?? A great place to sit and look out on a snowstorm warm inside with a fire and ? A second story loft big enough for a sleeping bag for two and heat rises! Great job on the window openings!
Aww. I would have liked to hear the update on the new Gimmy! 😞😉 Johnny was like she's really a crow! Hide! 😂 I hope your generous when measuring 🙏 ☺️ 🤭
Great video Michelle. Really like your split tailgate that is really cool. Just liked every comment and reply as a little token of my appreciation for you entering me so well. ❤️tight 501! 😁
Before you hoist those heavy windows up there, I would trace their exact shape onto thin (light weight) plywood, and cut that out for a "test fit". EDIT: Maybe foam board, as mentioned in another comment. Definately not cardboard because it's not rigid enough, and it will bend in the wind. Good luck and stay safe!
Great choice of tunes for this video; Especially loved the opening scene song and the electro-swing song near the end. Cabin is looking fantastic Michelle. Impressive work as usual.
I think that chipmunk is in love with you. I saw him in your tool belt stealing a walnut. I am not a pro, so sometimes my protects come out a little wannki. Usually measuring is involved or not measuring.: )
I , Like Your Choice Of Music. You , Are Definitely Getting The Lil Cabin On A Clift Done, Without Falling Off The Edge. Have , You Named The Chipmunks ?
Once you start with those little grass rats they never let you alone until they hibernate. I have 6 chipmunks and a bunch of bluejays fighting each other for peanuts. They keep me entertained.
You could build a stand then put an empty fish tank (if you had an old used one) then put wired roofing for chipmunk friends, instant, "pets", then create wheels, bridges, etc in the fish tank. heehee :)
I'm a new fan of your channel and was having a hard time understanding how you were losing tools down the hill side., but today I saw that your tools falling down the side of a cliff, a large cliff...I love your perseverance (sp?), keep up the hard work.
Indeed, you're right: These chipmonks (especially Johnny) are really giga- cute!🦡 So, good and complicated job done - congrats! Greetings from Germany from the silver fox, David 😉🦊
Awesome job Michelle! Fun video to watch with your little furry friend helping out. Have a great day and stay safe. Kind Regards, Randy in Arizona, USA
Been watching your videos for a week or so. You have gotten me intrigued about the railroad and its history. (I'm disabled & retired, so I play. lol) What I'd like to see in the future, if you can, is a video of your trek from the "off-grid" cabin to your "cliff cabin" - I think you said it was about a 1.5-2 hr long journey, but you go thru at least one tunnel. I know you'd have to do clips because a 2-hr video would be a chore. But, it would be intriguing to see the whole journey. There are some guys on ATV's on RUclips that make the same trek, but you have to go a "fer piece" as we say in Florida just to get to the old rail line! I read about the old mining towns up there and loved the parts where you & Steve do homage to that history with the rail cars. Found an old show about the towns & ghost towns not far from you. Thought you might enjoy that: ruclips.net/video/Nb6MUVEru10/видео.html
You are so multi-talented , your editing is first rate, however with no railings on your deck, I’m so apprehensive that you will stumble to a disastrous ,outcome, I worry for you!😧 I love your time scheduling, and attention to detail! Thanks for another great video! I see you continue to wear jeans that fit tight to your ankles,to prevent “ intrusion” by your little friends!🙂
Nice job with the 2x4 and hammer. I know it's styrofoam but you won't believe the toll it takes on your hand . I'm 74. Did construction all my life and it all adds up. Kenny from Western North Carolina
Can't wait to see those windows in, and between me and you, can't wait to see that pile of board out of your balcony :) :) :) the view will be even better. Next week ....
I get a kick out of your tenacity. In a society that wants everything easy and mass produced, you choose to preserve through all challenges regardless of their scope. Could use a few like you on my crew. Great video and keep up the good work. Stay safe!
Hi Michelle, it's all part of the learning curve because doing anything the first time is for everyone. You will enjoy it when done even more because you fought through it to make it right. Love your little friends out there. They sure love you and your goodies.
..Love your build energy ..... I think instead of modifying the rafter areas ,, I would rebuild the windows to the size you mentioned .. love your little friends .. Chubby Cheeks ...
Thanks for not being rude! I have the feeling you might want to harvest some of that mullein you drive by on the regular before it's compost. Just a hunch that mullein and rose hips might be what gets some of us through the next few months. Cheers!
You are amazing!!! And every week i find you more amazing!!! The cabin will look so nice with those two windows installed. And i hope that you can make friends with the raven!!! ❤
You are so amazing to watch and experience those incredible work ethics you display on every video! Thanks for that and showing that amazing outhouse you created! Awesome, for sure! Had to laugh as the outhouse had no toilet paper in it and next scene your in your truck and show a roll of toilet paper in the back, great editing!😂
Bring the reciprocating saw for those odd knockouts. Before trying to fit those windows, trace out the windows onto cardboard then do a test fit. The view from the porch is spectacular. When the cabin is at a completed stage, future soirees should be put on the calendar. Chairs on the porch....
again I have to say: respect for your great work ! as I said before: you are a role model for other women ! And you have a big heart for animals ! Of course, I envy you for this outstanding property. We have nothing similar in good old Germany !
That is interesting that you mentioned the stink bugs, because of all of the rain that we had earlier in the year here in California, the mosquitos have been very bad this year, especially the little tiny ones that are called ankle bitters and they are on the hunt all of the time not just in the late afternoon and evenings. The other thing that I just realized was I do not remember any of the June bugs this year, they are the rather small brown flying bugs with the spiny legs. They usually come out mid summer for a couple months, they are just annoying they don’t bite or anything but go the the light so if you are having a barbecue on the patio they will be all over the table.
I hope the windows fit for you. BTW I think some of your little chipmunks relatives visited my big RAM pickup while I was away in Saudi Arabia. I can home and found they stole all the felt installation around my battery for their winter home in upstate NY 😂❤
❤Levis owes you money!❤
I nice job on the windows and the pictures of the lake and mountains
Ol’ Freddy and you are becoming quite the pair. Maybe you should pack him up and add him to your pet collection. 🤔🤣🤣
I highly suggest that you make either a cardboard or foamboard template of your glass. Two reasons, one if they happen to be slightly out of square your measurements can be off. Two, you can check the fit a lot easier with the template being lighter and not as fragile. It is a whole lot easier checking this way than fighting the glass up and down if your opening is a bit off. Best wishes.
Yes - I thought about making a cardboard template but talked myself out of it 🫣
Michelle, this is a good idea... making a template is the smart move... listen to this person...
@@michygoss7148 I forgot to mention. If you try to force them back into alignment, you are apt to caused seal failure.
UGH..... Come on the hard way is way more fun and better for views... LOL
I agree a template is the way to go. Wouldn't want to get the window up there and it not fit the opening.
Great job. Nice friend you made lol haha I'm sure it's a very good listener.
I love that you would put on lipstick for the chipmunk! Actually, I love everything you do, but the chipmunk is the icing on the cake!
You should build a chipmunk warrior obstacle course feeder for Johnny and film the physical theatrics of gathering nuts.
Don't beat yourself up over not sharing about the stove you share so much of your life and bring sunshine to many. I wonder how you do it all.
The Chipmunks are adorable. 😀
Loved the swing music segment with the chipmunks
I feel like those critters actually understand every word you say... I can’t get over that view from the cabin. Breathtaking...
You are a very smart and resourceful person. An inspiration to many. I am sure you have been asked, but you should be a blue jean model! You make blue jeans look great. Keep up the great videos, they are always inspirational, and fun to watch. Looking forward to those windows being done! Does seem challenging!
Now I know what I like bout you. You don't whine! That you are beautiful and witty helps also.
Make a simple stick frame model of your window to act as a template. Very light in weight which will allow you to test fit it before trying to hoist the permanent windows and chance damaging them. Watch all the time, really enjoy your videos. Take care Michelle. 🙃
Hello sweet chipmunk whisperer, 😊☕️☕️🇺🇸🇨🇦❤️
You are amazing Girl you can figure out what to do,you dont let nothing stop you. Love you little chipmunks . I love your videos thank you for the great work and those beautiful green eyes. You stay safe and be careful.
Walking the wire without a nett. Amazing
Maybe we could have Fans Day and convene at the cabin to get it finished & ready for winter. I can come Thursday. 😊
Michelle, I've always believed animals can tell when a person has a good heart. I suspect that chipmunk thinks yours is the greatest. I also suspect he's very clear about when Winter is coming. Still rooting for you. Thanks for Sharing!

I truly respect your ability to work and not have a fear of heights so close to that cliff edge. You make it look easy and you look lovely doing so. Stay at it.
This girl is vying for work partner of the year . Who cares how the job turns out
If it dont fit dont force it just relax and let it go and build it again lol love your bird impressions and the chipmunk crack on
Doesn't matter if the house isn't closed in for the stove to draft. If the chimney is up, lite 'er up!
I had tried it once in May, and it wouldn’t draft properly. All other issues checked out ok, so the company thought it must be the fact that the place wasn’t closed in yet. 🤷🏻♀️
We’ll see.
It looked like your little helper was going into your nail bag to pass the screws to you ❤😂😂
Love the videos of the grinnys
Ha! Love your fun dancing and quips! Love these entertaining videos! Thank you so much for entertaining us! You young lady are flipping amazing 🤩
Another summer comes to an end. And I hate to say it, another year older. love the hair. Nice job.

Oh your little helpers are the cutest 5:26
Thank you for the video. Your nature is beautiful. Now the leaves are turning yellow. I think you will have a very beautiful view of nature.
Who the hell has enough leg strength to push a wheelbarrow uphill. I surely don't know anyone. BTW, those closeup shot starring into the camera, with those eyes, are hypnotizing.

Anything that you do is amazing
Your personality is mesmerizing, I can see the chipmunk really loves you. You always bring a smile to my face
I hope your windows fit after all your work, good to see your little friend eating out of your hand, Have a great week.
Your ingenuity is great to see, you always figure stuff out. 4:38 - thats what he said, maybe just not the dry part.
Well my day just got a lot brighter ❤
This should be named as "Chipmunk Cabin" when it is finished. Just a thought...greetings from Finland!
I was admiring what i thought was a nail apron but its apparently a chipmunk holster!!
Cabin is really getting there😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 3:41
Beautiful lady, beautiful presentations and explanations, got to admire your determination 😻😻
Great choice of tunes for this video; Especially loved the opening scene song and the electro-swing song near the end. Cabin is looking fantastic Michelle. Impressive work as usual.
Love your videos wife and I watch them all the time From Australia 🇦🇺
Installing windows at height will be delicate and dangerous. You can't do it alone. Your cabin is a success. Bravo Michèle 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You're a very determined woman ... Props to you super lady 👍
I think that chipmunk is in love with you. I saw him in your tool belt stealing a walnut. I am not a pro, so sometimes my protects come out a little wannki. Usually measuring is involved or not measuring.: )

Beautiful scenery if I may say and Dang, that's one Beautiful Truck too! Be Safe and stay Strong young lady.

Hi there, fantastic progress! And those chipmunks are so tame 🐿🐿🐿😃
Awesome job Michelle! Fun video to watch with your little furry friend helping out. Have a great day and stay safe. Kind Regards, Randy in Arizona, USA
I admire your ability to roll with the punches.

Ugh. Me too. I really need to get rid of it. It might become high on the list cuz it’s that annoying. Lol
I get a kick out of your tenacity. In a society that wants everything easy and mass produced, you choose to preserve through all challenges regardless of their scope. Could use a few like you on my crew. Great video and keep up the good work. Stay safe!
Now I am definitely jealous with that step gate
The elements to stick to your videos are several. Good job.
The chipmunk is the best part your a good woman not that you need to hear that but wanted to honor the efforts
I love it! Them chipmunks are so cute!
I can't wait for the video of you fitting the Gable end windows. Even if they don't fit, you will get them to, or "It will do"😂

The toilet paper in the outhouse is actually in a little Tupperware container cuz the mice get at it!
Love the little Chipmonk. I wonder is it Chip or Dale. If you put nuts in your nail pouch he would be right in there!
