candy apple red jaguar always makes me think of Snail Mail
The first guitar channel ive seen that actually play cool riffs that i like, nicely done ❤
I love y'all's playing so much
The best combo would be Vintera Body, Classic Player Neck, Vintera Neck Pickup, Classic Player Bridge Pickup.
Fire video
I don't think I've ever listened to an entire RUclipsr playing demo before. Absolutely loved those songs
Whats wrong with Pau Ferros? SRV strats came specced with them. Heck even Suhr uses them on their guitars. Most people wont even be able to distinguish the difference.
Jag-wars is possibly the best jag-based pun I've ever heard, maybe second to jag-off. As always, I absolutely loved the playing in this video!!
Thank you!!!! I think Jag-Wars is going to be our thing going forward. lol. Also, I keep telling ya' I love your channel.
Love Tia's red Jag. Looks and sounds fantastic. Great used find, for sure.
I've got the Vintera (in that colour too! I'm a sucker for matching headstock Fender offsets) and yeah, within days had dyed the fretboard a darker colour 😄 That, and a ton of other small and stealthy mods, but yeah, really good guitar, my new favourite of my bunch!
I feel like the ultimate Jaguar, considering some of its issues and to make it more of a companion to the Jazzmaster (and tribute to its biggest surf competitor) would have the following changes:
-Increase the scale length to 24.5”, standard Mosrite scale length.
-Replace the bridge with a stainless steel zero fret and a brass string guide.
-Replace the pickup switches with 3-way Mustang switches and circuitry with the phase options.
-Replace the bridge with a Mustang bridge and make the mute standard again.
-Replace the Lead Circuit pots with 500K’s.
-Replace the pickups with a 14K Mark I single coil in the bridge and a 10.2K Mark V single coil in the neck.
-Offer a very narrow replacement neck with speed frets.
-Offer 17K ‘59 Joe Maphis single coils and V-II Humbuckers as replacements. The V-II’s should be available in parallel (5K) or series (20K) versions.
Always love how you showcase a couple of different styles per review, really gives a wide range of impressions. Thanks for the video!
Love this video 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Would love to see a review on the
CV 70s Jaguar
Fancy meeting Eddy Wally from Belgium in one of your videos! Never knew he became an internet meme.
I gravitate towards the Vintera because I own the Vintera Jazzmaster. Gorgeous stuff.
Disappointed you didn't go all-in on Jag-off. 😂All seriousness, it's interesting you get more bass response from the Vintera vs. the Classic player. I'm guessing the output difference is due to magnet strength/composition vs. number of winds, which honestly I think the world needs more of. If I can ever justify another Jag in my life (especially with the Fender tax) that Vintera is on the short list as it's a different toolkit to my Vintage Modified (modified). If I can only get over the 7.5" radius... ugh! And devil's advocate here: I dig the look of the pau ferro on turquoise; it works, particularly with the tort guard. Oil is your friend though. In any case, thanks again to your thoughtful and informative review!
I loved that vintera jaguar at gearfest and still love how it sounds between the two of them. It shines between what ya’ll played.
Oh yea!!! It was awesome at gearfest! And it's still awesome now.
@@JasonTMays I appreciated when I asked you, can I take it out of your hands and play it for a little bit? 😆
A new WCM video = a GREAT day!
Now this is my kind of video
Thanks for the demo! I like the vintera pickups more. You're making me want a jaguar.
Seems like the mij 2023 tradition collection in metallic ice blue is the clear winner... Matching headstock, rosewood fretboard.. Etc
Not watched the vid yet (soz) - Saved to watch later - But had to congratulate you on the stellar title 😎👌
I was split on the two but this has helped me a lot. I want a jaguar for Johnny Marr, Nirvana and MBV sounds so it seems like the classic player is best for me. Also that red is so good and it'd be perfect with the matching headstock
Great show guys! Classic player is a beautiful guitar 🎸 I like the vintera too (pau farro just ruins it a little though)
Thanks for the video 📸
This video title is an instant like
Jaguars and Cloudburst and LVL. oh my!!!! All my favorites in one video. Nice jobs everyone.!!! You should throw in a Squier CV Jaguar into the mix. My Silver Sparkle Squier FSR Jaguar has the flatter 9.5" radius but a thicker neck similar to the Johnny Marr Jaguar. My AVRI Jag has the 7.25" radius with a slightly thinner profile. Thinner necks work well with the 7.25" radius while the flatter 9.5" radius works better with slightly thicker profile.
Very cool tones from both! I'm a Jazzmaster guy, but my wallet will weep if I ever see a Fiesta Red Jaguar!
I have a Vintera Mustang. Love it! 🎼
Great video! Great Playing too.
Had a jazzmaster loved it. Obviously one of the most unique fenders. It always felt really big for whatever reason, like bigger then a Stratocaster. It forced me to play different which is kinda neat when your looking for that.
Buut with jag I felt like I could do whatever I wanted to. I also own a mustang, same experience. I’m thinking of putting 13’s on the mustang. Short scale definitely has its advantages. At 34 I don’t want to make guitar playing any harder then it needs to be 😊. Thanks y’all! 🌟
.13s might be a bit much. Do whatever you want. I run .11s on most of my guitars, including my Jaguars, Mustang and Bronco. To me, .11s on a Shortscale Fender feel right and help the guitars play better. Definitely experiment with different strings but make sure the action and neck relief are set to whatever strings your go with.
@@taylornutt solid point about the neck relief and action. I tried 11’s they felt great very punchy and clear. I only herd some guy on RUclips say 13’s were good. So I will experiment for sure
Modern playability with a vintage sound & feel is where I like to be. But given Jason's want of the Candy Apple with the tortoise guard...just put the Vintera guard & pups on the Classic Player & that's probably the happy place.
When Jason was playing the 2 units back to back, there was a noticeable difference between the string slide noise in the Pau Ferro board.
I gotta rewatch this.
Classic Player all day man
wish squire made that blue ...(im thinking of refinishing the sunburst classic vibes i just bought)
Peep the Limbs shirt. Dope and underrated band
Thanks For Sharing 🎉
love a good jagoff
Oh, the Vintera 2 leak?
Boy, I sure hope one of jags wins!!
It would be great if you could comment on the neck thickness and difference in playing feel of a 7.25 radius when you review the Vintera II
Wow those jams
jag-off lol I have a sq - once I changed the springs and put a shim for the neck plays amazing stays in tune prob my fav guitar for everything -- tu, dd3,mxr analog chorus crybaby phat mod boss ir200 into a Dl4 for looping only.
I've got both classic player and vintera, and I prefer the vintera. I prefer my cobain jag over the vintera, and my marr jag over the cobain. All four are incredible guitars that have their place even though i have them all.
They each have some major specs I need and also some I enjoy. I have to have rosewood and 9.5 that’s a must but I also must have the true bridge with the right vibrato spacing.. matching headstock is a huge plus as well. Swapping the classic player neck to the vintera would be ideal. If they could just get a model right for once lol🤦♂️ the leaks look very promising
Is there a replacement for the Vintera coming
@@ZachariahConnor yeah Vintera 2 got leaked. Back to rosewood for the necks, 50/60/70s strats and teles, 50s JM, 70s jag and mustang, 50/60s p-bass, 60s jazz bass, 60s BASS VI FINALLY, and 70s tele and mustang basses
@@psychicmonkey Yeah! I just saw the leaked pictures! FINALLY a '50s Jazzmaster in normal production
Classic player all day along!
hell yeah
So has Tia tried Ernie ball necks like the Albert Lee model? I have yet to try the Saint Vincent. However the A L model is narrow is narrow and slick.
I have! I used to own a stealth St Vincent, owning another EB is on my bucket list for sure but definitely one with a satin neck this time!
I didn't hear mention of it but on the classic player vs the original spec, the tremolo unit is a few mm closer to the bridge. *edit* never mind, I heard it on replay* I wasn't sure if I'd like this and now that I have several offset Fenders, I've decided that I'm not too much of a fan of that closer trem unit. I don't really see an advantage and because I'm slightly OCD, I can't unsee it and it bothers me slightly for aesthetics. And I really don't like Pau ferro lol
Where does the Johnny Marr Neck fit? Closer to the Classic?
The Marr is definitely a lot closer to the Vintera. It's a chunky neck.
Anyone know what riff tia was playing in the demo?
Vintera
No one mentioned the TBS riff so i wanted you to know that i did. Notice.
Thank you!!! I was wondering if anyone noticed.
haha jag off. I'd like to see the player series get in there too.
"jag off" lol
Classic player is amazing
*SURE IS*
Go on just say iiitttt
You can oil and darken the fret board it will take away the dryness & make it look more like rose wood 🤙🏻
Not on pau ferro
it’s very oily and extremly hard
It doesn’t take oil very well and probably won’t darken ever
It doesn’t even take stain like at all
You just gotta live to learn with the pale fretboard
@@DavidGarcia-pi9wn you aren’t wrong but “if there is a will there is always a way” I actually just recently purchased the ocean turquoise Jaguar off reverb & been playing this guitar for the past two days non stop - I can honestly say it’s a fantastic feeling fretboard & I haven’t really felt the need to darken the wood because it’s got this nice color tone that meshes well & with the cream cover pickups & turtle shell pick guard & the painted head stock for me is the cherry on top 👌🏻 this guitar in rosewood would be stellar but I got lucky with this piece, the wood is already dark -
@@thevaultdwellergaming dark Pau Ferro is gorgeous
The ones I’ve seen locally on fenders is closer to a pinto bean brown
But I’ve seen some dark red chocolate ones and they are beautiful
A tune-o-matic bridge should never be paired with a vibrato
What's jason playing in the first demo?
It's a 50's inspired riff that I made up and I've been doodling around with. lol.
Crazy , the Classic Player sounds better when Jason is playing and the Vintera sounds better when Tia is playing …. That’s funny guys .
as we said,
*different strokes for different folks*
The vintera was definitely less out of tune.
WTF is Eddy Wally doing in this video?
Classic Player sounds a bit more fat and hotter by its own but it seems like the Vintera would sit better in context of full band.
