I actually really like my Vintera ‘60s Jaguar and think you guys are a little harsh in your judgement in both videos. For me, I have been nothing but impressed. The neck almost reminds me of the thickness of a ‘60s Les Paul and I can switch between both my Fender and my Gibson quite comfortably. I also really like the tone of my ‘60s Jag. I also don’t think Pau Ferro is a big deal.
Fingers crossed for a Mustang Vintera II vs I face off (Face/Off). The IIs look great. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the truss rod adjustment being at the bottom of the neck.
Pau Ferro when used right is amazing. I had an EchoPark strat with a nice slab and it was buttery and stunning visually. Fenders feels like sand paper somehow.?? I think Laurel is more RW ish. love the channel folks.
Aw yeah, great review dudes 😎 One thing I want to point out. At 8:42 Jason points out that the vintera ii is priced right under the mod shop jag. This is def worth considering since you get lots of neck options, a mustang bridge, and whatever color you want. However, I do think it's important to note that mod shop jags only come in American Pro I configs, meaning no rhythm circuit/strangle switch (you get a 4 way parallel/series switch + phase switch instead). You're also limited to V-Mods, which I'm not a fan of personally. It's all personal preference ofc, but I'd honestly much rather have the Vintera II's feature set/pickups. Either way though, the price is definitely really high
I much prefer dot markers on Fender-type guitars, even the JM and Jag, and really don't get on with the black blocks on maple. I have an Epiphone with small pearloid parallelograms on rosewood, and a Harley Benton bass with kind of short, inverted pearloid sharkfins on Amaranth. Both nice alternatives to dots without being as overwhelming as the large block markers.
Jason, you’re lucky to have Tia to co-host with you. Cause I would not have been all “I get it”… I’d have been all “are you fucking kidding me?! Blocks?!” Lol. Great episode folks.
I have been looking for a comparison between these models. Thanks for doing a great job. For me I could hear a slight difference on the cleans. They both sounded like a Jag in their own way. When I saw the Maple Fingerboard and the Block inlays I thought that is perfect. It also ticked all the other boxes as an upgrade from my Squier CV Jag. So I ordered a Vintera II Jag just like the one on here a few weeks ago.
Great episode! I hadn't noticed that the block inlays weren't the right size? Will Fender address this, thereby making this run rare and more collectible? 😆 Really, though. I don't know what it is about block inlays, but they're so cool.
I just got the vintage white 2 yesterday. I have a seafoam humbucker 1. I cant tell which i like more honestly. I do prefer that block neck tho. It's nice. Wasnt going to get it at $1.5k but they had a veterans day sale, %15 off, free shipping and i got it sent to oregon so no sales tax. ❤
@workingclassmusic Nice comparison! Do you consider the Vintera II to be a worthy upgrade to a Squier Jaguar CV or would you wait until you could afford an American made Jaguar?
I played the same Black Vintera II Jaguar at the store recently. My only negative was the guitar seem a bit heavy. The neck profiles seem slightly slimmer on the Vintera II guitars. Enough stalling.......bring out the Compstangs!!!!!!
I just bought a 2012 Blacktop Jaguar 90 in candy apple red and think it's the best thing since sliced bread you should try one .I have a Vintera Tele 60s modified so of the 2 that's the Jag I'd go for myself .I would prefer rosewood but I'm used to the pau ferro now ,would'nt buy one with block inlays either.
Wow, that Vintera II sounds huge! Not sure if I like or dislike that if I'm honest, both amazing sounds and very different from each other. To address the pricing question, my guess as someone who's been in the guts of a Jaguar is there's a greater parts and probably labor cost when compared to, say, a strat or tele, all those fancy electronics as well as three separate control plates which might explain pricing above the Jazzmaster. Still seems a bit steep to me, but I'm a Squier girl, what do I know?
Dots always. Btw, I thought I preferred rosewood. Until I got a road Worn hss Strat with the Worn maple neck. Worn nitro on the fingerboard is my new favorite. I used to hate relics. 😆
I love the Jaguar, and the vintera 11 looks amazing, I really like both the black, and white ones, but I'd go for the black. But for a guitar made in Mexico, it's far too expensive.
My next guitar will be a Jag... Although I've been saying that for a while now, whilst other guitars make their way into the collection. I can't really see much difference between the black model and the classic vibes black. Neck materiel yes, but classic vibes looks better. Maple neck with black really doesn't work. It needed to be rosewood. So, I'm thinking Johnny Marr version, but it's almost double the price out here. Or the 2023 'late 60s' MIJ, which for me is a similar price to Vintera II. I'm just not convinced about those pups tho. 🤔 I think fender all in all does a disservice to the jaguar line. They typically get it right for JM, but f#ck up with Jags. Pity... Solid review guys. Thanks.
I usually don't care much about the inlays but when I first saw the black block inlays on a maple board (may have been the Troy Van Leeuwen signature), I immediately disliked it. No Vintera II for me I guess.
Vintera, classic vibe, contemporary, jazzmaster what else is there??? geezzz why so many different names omg. has anyone compared all this? wich one to get? lol omg I'm soooo confused.
Awful blocks. Main difference I might say it’s that vintera 1 has a 7,25” radius and the vintera 2 has 9,5” radius. I prefer the 9’5” radius BUT the vintera 1 has better looks. Those blocks and maple neck didn’t work at least for me. Thanks for the video.
Not for the working class, not at those prices
I just wish the vintera 2 came in that turquoise with the matching headstock because man that looks lovely too my eyes haha

I love your channel!....very informative and really happy that y'all spend so much time with offsets! Definitely my favorites
I honestly didn't expect to hear that much difference between them!
Yea, It was pretty surprising.
I didnt hear a single difference -- but i cant hear high frequencies. They were exactly the same to me.
The greatest description of Punk ever:

❤
I've been wanting a Jaguar for a long time. Love this video!

Appreciate your review. Love what you said about QC, gives me faith
The new one has a honk to the sound that I really like. Thanks for the comparison!
This was the one I was waiting on. 🥳🎈
The gen 1 ocean turquoise Jag is my dream guitar. Can't wait for the day
I will be changing the pickguard to golf ball white, tho. Not a tort guy
I've only just discovered this channel, due to the Jag comparison, but I love it🖖🏽
We got plenty of videos for you to get caught up on. Thanks for leaving us a comment!

Great video. Subbed. That new Jag is teeeeempting.
I'd like cat inlays. Hope there's a Vinterra ii vs Johnny Marr shootout coming
I would love this as well!

What do you think about it? I consider buying one too
Jags are cool! You can try the best you can. The best you can is good enough.
I see what you did there. lol.
lol hi landon

They were the wrong size in the past, but they fixed it to the right sized blocks with the Vintera II series!

13:28 Dots on almost any fender model. I don't like blocks generally but if they are tasteful or iconic it's fine. For PRS, moon inlays all day.
You guys are dope, subscribed.
The upside down shark fin inlay is so sick too me, but block is second...... if accurate
Awesome! I hope you guys do this with the Jazzmaster too!
We already did
My Reverend Wattplower has my favorite inlay: a big anchor at the first fret as a nod to the great Mike Watt.
I wish they released the vintera ii with a rosewood board. I’d have bought one in a heartbeat
@workingclassmusic Nice comparison! Do you consider the Vintera II to be a worthy upgrade to a Squier Jaguar CV or would you wait until you could afford an American made Jaguar?
I would love to see a vintera ii mustang review
I played the same Black Vintera II Jaguar at the store recently. My only negative was the guitar seem a bit heavy. The neck profiles seem slightly slimmer on the Vintera II guitars.

Have either of you two played an SZ720Fm by Ibanez? Thats living...

The II just looks killer. Wait a year or so and get one used. Real shame Fender continues to slowly creep those prices up.
this was a big boost at 500 beans. I played the new 2 and the frets are so tiny, Im hoping to catch a Marr for cheap used.
Sadly, our dollar value is falling
There's a $450 difference in price between the two right now.. that sure makes it hard to not choose the vintera.. plus... sunburst!
I love the Jaguar, and the vintera 11 looks amazing, I really like both the black, and white ones, but I'd go for the black. But for a guitar made in Mexico, it's far too expensive.

Solid review guys. Thanks.
I love Tia's playing!
Is it worth saving up for the Johnny Marr Jag or is the Vintera 2 a worthy investment?
I'd say shoot for the middle and go with a used Johnny Marr.
I want that black maple board jag soooooooooo bad. Out of my budget 😢
Y’all heard of Halls of Torment? It’s what I always wanted in a Diablo sequel but never got. Can’t stop playing. Oh yeah guitars whatever blah blah.
I've been playing that too! love a good survive em up
Definately like the sound of the vintera more then the II in all sounds.
Yes, it sounds more defined! 😀👍🏻
lemme get uhhhhhhh little scallops on the edge cuz I do like playin my gretsch from time to time
dots tho, i like dots

i wasn’t impressed by the vintera 1 line allot that i played in the shops in the uk had allot of electrical faults on them
Most pau ferro that I’ve felt feels horrid. I’d take anything over that.
Vintera, classic vibe, contemporary, jazzmaster what else is there??? geezzz why so many different names omg. has anyone compared all this? wich one to get? lol omg I'm soooo confused.
Offset dots at the edges
6:10 I know this riff but can't place it. Anyone know?
dot and binding
It’s silly to care, but I do appreciate the pronunciation of jaguar rather than jagwire.
