  • This is the steepest gravel driveway that I have worked on. Steep doesn’t properly describe it. Check out this repair and lets hope it works…

    Boy that was a steep one. A good coat of C&R, and then some compacted asphalt millings would make a good road. I've had good luck using the millings on steep driveways. You don't spin on it like gravel, it doesn't washboard nearly as bad, and it's less maintenance.

    • @tristardiggin
      @tristardiggin  11 месяцев назад

      Right, 48" inches would have gotten them out of the way for sure. We have very little ground freeze here. So, if we are lucky they have been installed 18" in the ground. Sometimes they are less than that depending on the guy who did the line. I have hit plenty of shallow water line repairing driveways, not fun!

      Right, we just went as big as made sense to try and handle massive water coming down thru there in extremely heavy rain. Won't be real bad as long as water breaks stay clean. If they stop up it will be bad news...

      Oh, I misunderstood. 😁
      Yes, the state inspector designs the size of the leach field and those arc chambers are a standard size for all installs. The state tells them how many linear feet they are to put in.

    That driveway would never work here it needs a series of switchbacks zig zag turns up the side of the hill with wide turns and stopping points like a landing .

    That driveway should be abandoned and do it a different way.
