I have experience 10 years doing sewer,water, storm drain etc, using equipment, transit and so on. Awesome job. My only advise to anyone building a basement, is to use schedule 40 drain pipe around your basement perimeter .. this ribbed pipe tends to hold water and is a little on the flimsy side!

This is no joke I been doing a lot better in my life and been trying to go to church when I’m home with my wife and kids since I’m an over the road truck driver and I’ve had a rough past and there’s other videos I would only watch a couple minutes of and exit out until I found yours and I feel like something drew me to watch pretty much every minute of your video and at the end you had the Bible in your hand and started reading and it sent chills through me like god wanted me to listen to your message thank you and god bless

Looks great Sam! If you haven't tried one of those 36" aluminum landscape rakes they work great for leveling with less effort in my opinion think would of worked slick on that small gravel.

You seem to always have jobs that require shoveling and raking involved.😂 You could've used the 313 for the driveway if you would've had a 60 inch tilt bucket for it. you could do with a dozer blade and a vib compactor for the skid steer track loader. a little easier on the back. or one of those 2D, 3D GPS box or blade grader thingies. 😅 one other thing, it's nice having the the Lord working with you everyday when you goto work. I mean it just feels good doesn't it. it makes for a peaceful day. a man couldn't ask for better company, I tell you. well, it was just on my mind to say.

Still toward the beginning of the video… Wanted to give you a tip about corrugated drain pipe. ALWAYS tape your joints. They can easily come apart, even after installation.
I live in another country. here we make a narrow trench that the drainage pipe lies below so that the top layer of soil stays dry and there is less space for the water before it starts to run out into the drainage pipe. we also have fiber cloth against soil so that soil does not enter the drainage pipe and stones
Question sorry if this has been asked already. How come you used the excavator to remove to top soil for the driveway instead of using the skid steer with a larger bucket?
@@maxlangdon1597 with the excavator I could dig it quicker throwing it over to the side in piles. With a skid steer there would be a lot of running back and forth. Digging out then going to dump it. It could have done with the skid steer also though.
This is how I tailgate first I get about 30’ away from where I want to start then raise my bed and go when I get to my starting point pop my gate staying at the same rpms until I’m empty. This way I don’t have a pile at starting point. Good luck
Great video Sam! Hey have you looked in to a compactor plate or vibe roller for the skid? With as much as you use that wack and pack it may be a cost effective option in tight spaces for you
Thanks😀. I have checked on the vibratory roller for the skid steer. The local CAT dealer sent me a demo model and I used it on a job. It did a good job but not as good as the Volvo packer I eventually bought. The skid steer model would work great for small jobs but it was terribly expensive. The Volvo packer I bought can be used as a smooth drum roller when needed. But it’s a pain to take the pad foot shell off and on. Thanks, Sam

Hey I appreciate you subscribing and watching the channel. That is cool that yall have your own business going. Glad the videos are helping you figure things out and enjoying the message. The material at the end of the road was crusher run and I like to use it because it packs down really hard. The excavator would be a little faster cutting the driveway way in because there was minimal movement of the machine. With the skid steer you go slow so you can take the right amount of dirt and then a lot of back and forth to the stock pile. With the excavator you are almost always digging and moving only to reach more dirt. Once you place all the dirt outside of the driveway you can quickly use the skid steer to push it into a pile to haul away. Hope that helps… Sam

Quick question, why don’t you take the teeth off the bucket? Seems like it would give a smoother finish when scraping and even dumping?
Good question but it’s not an easy thing to take those off and on. After you smooth it out and track/pack it down it’s in pretty good shape…

Looks great Sam! If you haven't tried one of those 36" aluminum landscape rakes they work great for leveling with less effort in my opinion think would of worked slick on that small gravel.
I have been wondering about one of those rakes. I definitely need to try one out.

Landscape Rakes definitely work best for grading! Concrete (Come Along) Rakes are better for moving lots of material.

You seem to always have jobs that require shoveling and raking involved.😂 You could've used the 313 for the driveway if you would've had a 60 inch tilt bucket for it. you could do with a dozer blade and a vib compactor for the skid steer track loader. a little easier on the back. or one of those 2D, 3D GPS box or blade grader thingies. 😅
one other thing, it's nice having the the Lord working with you everyday when you goto work. I mean it just feels good doesn't it. it makes for a peaceful day. a man couldn't ask for better company, I tell you. well, it was just on my mind to say.

Still toward the beginning of the video… Wanted to give you a tip about corrugated drain pipe. ALWAYS tape your joints. They can easily come apart, even after installation.

I live in another country. here we make a narrow trench that the drainage pipe lies below so that the top layer of soil stays dry and there is less space for the water before it starts to run out into the drainage pipe. we also have fiber cloth against soil so that soil does not enter the drainage pipe and stones
That is a good idea to make ditch lower than the subgrade. Adding the fabric is good idea as well. Food for thought, thanks…😀

Question sorry if this has been asked already. How come you used the excavator to remove to top soil for the driveway instead of using the skid steer with a larger bucket?
@@maxlangdon1597 with the excavator I could dig it quicker throwing it over to the side in piles. With a skid steer there would be a lot of running back and forth. Digging out then going to dump it. It could have done with the skid steer also though.

This is how I tailgate first I get about 30’ away from where I want to start then raise my bed and go when I get to my starting point pop my gate staying at the same rpms until I’m empty. This way I don’t have a pile at starting point. Good luck

Great video Sam! Hey have you looked in to a compactor plate or vibe roller for the skid? With as much as you use that wack and pack it may be a cost effective option in tight spaces for you
Thanks😀. I have checked on the vibratory roller for the skid steer. The local CAT dealer sent me a demo model and I used it on a job. It did a good job but not as good as the Volvo packer I eventually bought. The skid steer model would work great for small jobs but it was terribly expensive. The Volvo packer I bought can be used as a smooth drum roller when needed. But it’s a pain to take the pad foot shell off and on.

Hey I appreciate you subscribing and watching the channel. That is cool that yall have your own business going. Glad the videos are helping you figure things out and enjoying the message. The material at the end of the road was crusher run and I like to use it because it packs down really hard. The excavator would be a little faster cutting the driveway way in because there was minimal movement of the machine. With the skid steer you go slow so you can take the right amount of dirt and then a lot of back and forth to the stock pile. With the excavator you are almost always digging and moving only to reach more dirt. Once you place all the dirt outside of the driveway you can quickly use the skid steer to push it into a pile to haul away.

Right, rock is called all kinds of different names. This 2” rock is commonly called septic rock too.

Can someone explain what that corrugated pipe around the edge of the basement floor is supposed to do? It’ll catch water but where does it go?
It drains the water outside the basement area. The end will extend all the way out into the yard and gravity drain.
