Stop using words you don’t understand. There is NOTHING underrated about any member of Rush. Alex is considered by his peers and fans as one of the greatest ever.
LeStudio was in the middle of the woods in Quebec. It was state of the art when this song was recorded. There were on site living quarters so bands could go there to record and use it as a retreat and rest up and recharge in between tours. April Wine also did some recording there. It became out dated and there was a fire that burned part of the complex and it was abandoned and vandalized over the years. The mixing board actually was sold before the fire and ended up being used in a recording studio in the Chicago area for many years. There are actually some pretty interesting RUclips videos about LeStudio.

I live 15 minutes from that place. I have a few pieces of broken glass from that giant glass separation between where they are and the mixing console, you can see it right behind Alex. I also have some pieces of parquetry flooring exactly from where Neil's drums are sitting in this video, and some cedar shingles from the exterior siding that you see at the very end of the video. So glad I have these artifacts of rock'n roll history.
Hey guys, great videos! This album was recorded at Le Studio in Quebec. It has since been left to time, and over the years there's always a call to buy ti and get it going again. Just give it a Google!
That’s what’s cool about Rush. They all do their “solos” at the same time. Each one is completely going off on their own instruments and they make is sound great

The studio is in the province of Quebec, and it's simply called, Le Studio. It's north of Montreal, in a location called, Morin Heights. Many artists you may know have recorded there... Cat Stevens, Ritchie Havens, Chicago, The Police, the Bee Gees, Sting, Corey Hart, David Bowie, and many more!
You need to see the Best Live Performance of all time RUSH - Xanadu - Live In Montreal 1981 (2021 HD Remaster 60fps) Alex Lifeson - 6 string guitar, 12 string guitar, pedal synthesizer, volume pedal; Geddy Lee - Vocals, bass guitar, 6 string guitar, foot pedal synthesizer, electric piano/synthesizer; Neil Peart - Lyrics, Drums, orchestra bells, tubular bells, wind chimes, crotales, timbales, timpani, gong, temple blocks, bell tree, triangle, and melodic cowbells. Based on Kubla Khan (Xanadu) by Samuel Taylor Coleridge Coleridge composed his poem, ‘Kubla Khan’, in a state of semi-conscious trance either in the autumn of 1797 or the spring of 1798 and published in 1816. The whole poem is pervaded by an atmosphere of dream and remains in the form of a vision. The vision embodied in Kubla Khan was inspired by the perusal of the travel book, Purchas His Pilgrimage. Coleridge had taken a dose of opium as an anodyne, and his eyes closed upon the line in the book, “At Zanadu Kubla Khan built a pleasure palace.” But this opened his creative vision, and the poem of about 200 lines was composed in this state of waking dream. On being fully awake, he wrote the poem down. The theme of the poem is unimportant. It describes the palace built by Kubla Khan, the grandson of Chengis Khan, the great rule of central Asia. ruclips.net/video/2byjJkN_nVY/видео.html

Hey guys. The recording studio is in Morin Heights, Quebec, which is only about a 40-minute drive from my place, north of Montreal. It was called "Le Studio", and it closed in 2003.
I've had the pleasure of seeing Rush live many times - about a dozen times - and it still wasn't nearly enough. Their live shows were unbelievable. 3-hour shows, no opening band, just straight, mind-blowing rocking out by the best rock band of all time.
9:30 actually Tom Sawyer isn't easy drumming, even for Neil, because his right hand is running nonstop 16th notes on the cymbals, which means all the other drumming... is his left hand. "Eraser Head" is David Lynch's 1st film, at the time it was Alex's favorite movie. If you like strange avant-garde B&W it's good.
I read that Neil once said Tom Sawyer was one of his most complex and difficult songs to play correctly. He said if he could get thru it during a live show, he considered it a success. Growing up in Northeast Ohio in the 70's only one Radio Station would play there music in the US! WDVE Cleveland!! Rush 2112 is dedicated to that Radio Station, check out the Album Cover It's on it!!!
The movie Waterboy with Adam Sandler used this song too! Just an FYI.. Another all time favorite is “Limelight”..I love the German Shepherd shot at the beginning of the video.. I recommend that song as your next reaction video! FYI..They were at Le Studio in Quebec Canada..
Back to your question , a trio as good as Rush, i would say Cream. The best drummer Ginger Baker, the best guitarist Eric Clapton and a great bassist in Jack Bruce. They were in 10 years before Rush. i love em both!!
That studio is about an hour north of montreal, in Morin Heights. It's beautiful there, they have a nice little ski hill and the best looking women in Quebec.
In the Laurentiens mountains 100 miles north of Montreal, also where April Wine recorded many of their hits & albums. Rush is what they call Progressive Music band
You guys would have a blast with a cover done by NYC looney-tunes Mindless Self Indulgence: For when you want the total "Tom Sawyer" experience but you're in a rush (d'oh!). It's the whole song in half the time plus a generous helping of Tourette's Syndrome.
Neil Peart’s double bass drum kit.. nobody see’s how fast the foot pedals are going off when you watch this band but you definitely hear it.. you wonder… “How’s he doing this sound”? That was always fun to watch his solo’s in concert.. so this is what a feel good jam looks like! 🥰😊😁
By the way, the snow you see is not "on the ground" but on a frozen lake. The place was, past tense' majestic. It was left in such a neglected state for the past 15 years or so that it was beyond repair. It was demolished about a year ago. It's (was) located in Morin Heights, Quebec, Canada.
Back when Rush was in its infancy, one critic said Geddy Lee sounded like Mickey Mouse on helium🤣. Not only that, but if you put some green make-up on him, he'd be a dead ringer for the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. Double🤣🤣.
Hi Boys. Enjoying your choices - particularly Rush, Supertramp, Boston - superior stuff. Recommend you try out Porcupine Tree. Their 'live at Tilburg' set is simply outstanding. Suggest ' What happens Now, Arriving Somewhere but not Here, Anaesthetise ' for starters. You like exceptional musicianship - this band has it in spades, and Gavin Harrison on drums has been hailed as the best drummer around.
you gotta remember in this era there were a lot of good bands and for rush to be on top of all that is just mind blowing.... in todays era if rush came out with this now they would get every award possible and people would lose there minds i think ther were just soo many great bands that rush kinda went under the radar but all musicians knew who rush were whispered in hushed and reverent tones when talked about
Nice! Hello from Brasil! From Rush I also recommend the live videos of "Xanadu", "Red Barchetta" and "Frewill (the instrumental part is CRAZY!!!)" from the show "Exit: Stage Left". And also the official video for "Subdivisions!
YES! +1 for Working Man Live in Cleveland. It would help if one of you knew the orig studio version to speak to the intro. The instumental break needs to be put in the Smithsonian.
check out The Warning. a 3 piece of young sisters from mexico. write their own stuff, and have been around for a little more than 10 years. no autotune. no lipsynch. no pitch correction. ever. their strength is their live show.
Never noticed the Eraserhead poster!! Nice I saw it but don’t pretend to understand it but I love how Roger Ebert described it: Not a single comforting image……….😬😬🤣😎
Thank you for playing RUSH, now, do you want to hear the song that sent them off to the next level. Even though, they are a Toronto band, like Triumph, they know, where the market is. They can make a good living in Canada, but if you really want to make a good living, go to America. In the mid to late 1970s, this song was played in Cleveland Ohio, on the radio. Cleveland loved it, adopted it, and RUSH was on its way to the stardom they desired. Have a listen> ruclips.net/video/Gj5slzbiopw/видео.html **Played in Cleveland where it all began for them. 4 years later 2015, they played Cleveland for the last time ever**. This Tom Sawyer was filmed in Quebec.
Nice reaction. Working Man was Rush's first hit song off their self titled album Rush. You can do the studio version as a reaction but if you really want to blow your minds, do "Working Man" live in Cleveland. Other radio hits to get started are Limelight, Freewill, Closer to the Heart and Spirit of the Radio should get you up and running with Rush.
The reason Neil has such a large drum kit is because he plays all of it.
❤
You know you got a big kit when your walking around playing them like the Xanedo set
The best drummer of all time. RIP Neil Peart.

Canadian bands back in the day were where it's at -- Americans loved Garth brooks and Cindy lauper and we loved our Chilliwack, rush and BTO

Rush 2112 is dedicated to that Radio Station, check out the Album Cover
It's on it!!!
The Awesomeness is overwhelming. If you ever wonder how the Gods play music? Well, here you go.
You would love "Closer to the heart"!
YOU MUST SEE WORKING MAN, CLEVELAND LIVE!!!!
Back to your question , a trio as good as Rush, i would say Cream. The best drummer Ginger Baker, the best guitarist Eric Clapton and a great bassist in Jack Bruce. They were in 10 years before Rush. i love em both!!
Great song!
You guys would have a blast with a cover done by NYC looney-tunes Mindless Self Indulgence:
For when you want the total "Tom Sawyer" experience but you're in a rush (d'oh!).
In Concert is Unbelievable.
Yep. Seen them 8 times!
You reacted to April Wine “Roller”. They have another song called “I Like to Rock” and the official video was also shot in this same studio.
All 3 members ooze talent, but Neil Pert rules on that drum kit!🥁😎Btw,to answer your question,No,no other trio packs the same punch as RUSH!🎸🎹🎙🤘
Great stuff guys. Love it.
WORKING MAN live in Cleveland. This will blow you away.
This is the same studio April wine recorded the video for I like to rock
Never noticed the Eraserhead poster!! Nice
I saw it but don’t pretend to understand it but I love how Roger Ebert described it:
Not a single comforting image……….😬😬🤣😎
When you are ready, there are a couple of Special RUSH songs that are must haves. 2112, the whole 20+ minute opus.
Guys trust me on this. The song 2112 will change your life! It’s long but it is incredible!!
