    Doug,
    Would love to know what Andrew upgraded the rear inner trailing arm Heim to? You and I have old smaller ones but I believe he upgraded to a larger 2 1/2".

    • @DougsX5
      @DougsX5  2 года назад

      Yes he did, because his newer more expensive cars are way heavier and he reconfigured the inner one to be horizontal to the ground instead of vertical like ours. I've never seen our style break. however I've seen two of his newer cars break on the new horizontal style one. I think there is more of a shear load as the bearing doesn't seem to articulate as much in that set up.

    Hello Doug, wondering if welding a same threaded rod to the rod end to extend the link an inch or so would affect the rod end. Planning on reinforcing with a metal sheathing welded to strengthen

    • @DougsX5
      @DougsX5  2 месяца назад +1

      Personally, I wouldn't do it, welding a threaded rod end may mess up the strength as they are specifically heat treated and manufactured for the strength that they're rated for. If you need longer rod ends then maybe whatever they're threading into needs to be extended.

      Great, 👍 If your referring to the front rod end I replaced. Had a rear fail due to my neglect. That was ugly - have a video posted about that one.
