@@athers5386 I’m getting there gotta take it one day at a time some days are better tan others. Going back to work full time doesn’t help either. But on the up side I’m not really taking pain meds anymore I just keep ice packs on deck because after work it’s hard.Hope ur recovery is going well, I’ll keep u in prayer
I noticed big improvements at about 6 weeks. Still working hard to recover at 9 weeks now. Range of motion is improving. Swelling is almost all gone now. Scar looks great, doctor (or his PA) did an excellent job closing the wound👍🏼. Only taking advice for pain since the 2nd week. No getting hooked on pain pills for me! No way! It sure isn’t an easy recovery. Good luck everyone!
Thank you. Interesting you say you may be more pain free at the physio session or bike work. Goodness those are my worst pain times, I’ve stopped the bike but putting up with physio even though I’m in agony for a couple of days later. I also can’t stand show offs who tell you how easy they feel it all is and how they are progressing so well, not to encourage, but to boast, good gracious we’re all different it’s not a race to the top!
I am at three weeks, got stiffness but have slept through each night since day three. Taking naproxen twice a day mostly for swelling, not pain, and that is all. Walking almost normally, using a recumbent stationary bike with varying programs. Only have real pain (front kneecap) when standing up from sitting. It passes after a few steps. Driving my lifted truck and my Smart car. Couple of weeks, back on my bicycle. I am 67. No physical therapist (following my surgeon’s advice to do my own thing.)
Three weeks out. Can bend knee to 99drgree angle and walk without use of walker or cane. Do carry the cane in the chance I need it. Days are pain free no meds. At night only if I lay on the wrong side.
11 days after knee surgery, its early days i know on one stick now get days when relatively pain free than othets in great deal of pain especially thru night doing my physio pain killers and ice packs help,
I am at 19 days out with pluses and minuses. My mobility is better now, I can walk across a room without a walker, but, I have to use a narcotic to get more than an hour or so of sleep-maybe 3 w. narco. My knee doesn’t bend past 90 and sitting is uncomfortable.
I am 3bweeks today still stiff swollen to some extent very mobile tho.. nights are a nightmare. The pain during the day is good I can manage it but at night I have no comfort or relief... the most I have slept at 1 time is 3 hrs.. and that was when I 1st came home. No it's less sleep and it's very mental and upsetting to not have any sleep and to not be able to stop the pain. But I am hoping for better results as therapy gets going..
Thank you for making me feel better about my symptoms. They are just as you describe. I was starting to feel some depression because of the pain. How are you doing? How is your activity level?
@@deannairons6384 Thank you so much for asking. I am 4 weeks post op today. I am still having some pain but it gets better every day. I’m trying to get back into doing chores like laundry and stuff.
Three weeks, no pain meds, swollen a bit so bending the knee can be tough. Mornings suck. PT says I'm ahead of the curve but it doesn't always feel that way. Good to know that this is normal at least according to somebody.
I am 3 weeks out still have swelling an pain. Today I cried I think I’m just overwhelmed an didn’t realize how difficult recovery was going to be.
Same.
You are not alone Deanna - I'm 3 weeks out today and so frustrated - you're 2 weeks ahead of me so hopefully in a better place.

Wow! That gives me a lot to look forward to. Not but I’m strong and the Lord will see me through it.
Three weeks out from TKR in the UK. I found your video very reassuring because you described me and my current condition perfectly. Many thanks.
