Totally agree with you. SW is great as far as eating healthier goes, but portion control can go out the window! CC is great as it is more about portion control, but not focused so much on healthy food. Combine the 2 for the best of both worlds👍 ❤
Totally agree with you. I go to sw group but all that clapping does my head in. I've started to just weighing and leaving . It just doesn't give me any motivation and find that certain members seem to take over about that their plans for the week are leaving no time for the quieter ones. Hey Danielle I have gone back to ww where I lost all my weight , the new plan and app has macros now and I like you have to weight pasta and rice , but have oats and potatoes and fruits and veg plus lean meats etc as 0 point options , best of both worlds 😊
I used to be a slimming world member but couldn’t ever lose them I started calorie counting and am so far 6st 5lbs down, still a way to go but I prefer this path ❤ new subscriber 🎉
I used to do SW which is how I started subscribing to your channel when Harper was around 8 weeks old, but I was struggling up and down the same 5lbs for well over a year. I didn’t think I wanted to calorie count as all that weighing seemed to be such a faff compared with the little weighing needed for SW. Well, fast-forward to today and I’m now on day 106 of calorie counting alone, weighing tracking every single thing I eat!! 🎉 Yes, it takes longer to dish up my meals, but I basically put my bowl or plate on the scales and just weigh as I dish up. I use Nutracheck app which also tells me what a portion size is, so I scan the barcode first and put on my plate only what that portion is. I have a guide of 1500 cals a day, but sometimes I eat more and sometimes less, which evens out to my average of 1500 cals over the week/month, and I ensure I eat 3 healthy meals a day so I don’t eat just 1500 cals of junk food haha. I also watch my protein and fibre intake, but I don’t really worry about the other macros. I have now lost 1 stone 12lbs in 15 weeks! Whilst I love the freedom of less weighing on SW, I prefer the freedom of eating “normal” food, especially when going out for lunch or dinner with my husband and 2 daughters, and it does seem to be more successful for me this way. I’m learning so much about where I was going wrong (and trust me, I was 100% on plan 99% of the time, so not including special occasions) so I think it was about eating too many low fat foods and not really understanding the impact of extra “free” carbs on my body. I’m not dissing SW, I loved the plan and it introduced me to some lovely healthy meal ideas, it just seems my body didn’t agree haha. So basically my tips for you are: follow the SW plan if you wish but track only calories with it for now, keep your eye on protein (70-100g) and fibre (15-30g) but don’t stress too much, and yes keep up your water intake too obviously, but don’t worry at all about tracking other macros just yet as that can be a step too far in the beginning, just keep that idea as something in the bag for later IF you need it. Px

I like the fact sw encourage eating more healthier foods. But I believe for long term weight loss you need to understand more about food than just calling it ‘free’. Ps. You are totally correct about some consultants but I do it On line .but I do nutracheck along side it so I know that I am not going over my daily calories.but I like slimming world and will continue with my own journey. You speak a lot of sense .😂❤
I have been a target SW member for many years. Started on the red and green days! I have been to several groups and some consultants are definitely better than others. Our current consultant is brilliant and ALWAYS underlines the portion ratio on the plate. If you stick with it I would advise you to speak out when you hear something you don’t agree with. That’s the point of image therapy. It’s a group participation thing, not a lecture.
Hi Daniel, As a target member of S/ W I can only say my experience has been brilliant, my consultant encourages and motivates never nothing negative, she has said and advised many members who are struggling to eat more speed food ,, and limited things like the pasta and potatoes not cut them out but limit, she has said on many occasions that everyone is different, and people do speak up in group if they don't agree and says what works better for them,, which can be helpful, Personally I would say stick with it, ,, but you do what's best for you,, I know from the past videos you have said calorie counting you tend to spend your calories on the wrong things ,, I don't always comment, but always watch, I hope you find what works for you best,, and as I said , you do what's best for you xx

I have a real love hate relationship with SW. I’m a member and love aspects of it but some of the nonsense they say winds me up. I’m at my most successful when I follow SW but am mindful of calories. Your consultant doesn’t sound great, real shame. Some days if there’s something I fancy, like bread and butter I just calorie count. My head is a chaotic adhd mess at the moment and your videos are helping me to get back in the right frame of mind for group tomorrow so thank you for that x❤
Calorie counting messed with my relationship with food, knowing i could eat a big bar of chocolate, have a takeout, any sort of rubbish as long as i was in Calories and weighing nearly everything was hard work..All diets have good or bad points..It what one works for you
Hi Danielle I rejoined SW group couple weeks ago, previously online member, I've lost 6.5 lbs over 2 weeks which I'm really happy about. My consultant messages me regularly which is sometimes annoying 😂. Her last message was telling me to look at my book more to help get better losses. To me that's her saying she's expecting more from me but I'm not a fast loser, and to be honest I'm happy with my results so far. It's made me wonder if to go back to group or try online only again. I just hate all the pressure of trying to please but surely if I'm happy that's what matters xx
Hi Danielle, i understand what you mean about group. I've been to many sw groups over the years and the consultants have always been overweight themselves and heavier than me so I've always struggled to take their advice. I've tried many times to find photos or information about them before i joined the group but could never find stuff online. So you don't know until you're there signing up that you're going to be told how to lose weight from someone that's clearly overweight. I know that sounds harsh but you wouldn't go to uni to learn from someone that doesn't have a degree themselves!!
Never thought of it like that! There are a lot of people in my group who use it as a social thing - which is nice for them. But for weight loss I’m not so sure xx

Gaing in weight could be water retention or hormones, which my consultant would say if someone has been 100 percent on plan, and maybe suggest a food diary or something I personally would try another group as I have been to a few groups but all consultants have been fab xxx you just have to find your group xxx
I always found it crazy when I wanted something low in calories and it was super high in syns! I000% prefer calorie counting, pain in the bum it is counting everyday but it allows me the flexibility when out with the family eating, sw used to make me feel incredibly guilty and actually gave me a back outlook on food. I use sw in terms of opting for fruit and veg and protein first but don’t feel like ending it all if I eat something off plan (even within calories) xx

Consultants act like they’re nutritionist when they actually know nothing. Yep your 1k calorie bowl of pasta made no difference but that extra 20 calorie syn is what done you looool 😂
Sourdough is actually the best bread you can eat because it only has around 3 ingredients in it. Have a look at My Net Diary. It's fantastic hun. You'll see me on there. X
I'm doing the exact same as you. Calorie counting is taking over tracking on the slimming world app but I'm using the principle of slimming. I bought some bread that was a healthy extra b on slimming world but more calories than other bread in the house. Things like that irritate me so much, that I just think sod the syns idea. It's annoying. I don't think I want to go anymore but I need the accountability of weighing myself there to keep me going. Saying that, I've massively over eaten this week and I don't care 😂
I maybe just lucky but all the consultants I've had over the last 6/7 yrs have been very supportive. I was at target for nearly 5yrs, then I had an accident and wasn't able to move around put half a stone. But credit where its due, my consultant was so supportive, kept me focused and motivated. It’s nerve wracking waiting till its your turn to either look happy if you've lost weight or if you've gained, upset, baffled, unsure of why you've not lost weight, and we'll we all know how that feels. I think the reason why it's part of the group session, and this is just my opinion, it's to face the issues full on, not hiding the weight gain, so other members and the consultant can help, and give encouragement to not give in. But I have to agree, it is one of the things about staying in group, I don't like 😮
If someone knows good nutrition they can be successful on any “diet” but most people aren’t knowledgeable so I get why consultants just push their particular plan. I’ve seen videos of people showing their half plate of salad for speed plus a free food casserole for example, but then they heap on extra rice or pasta so the plate is now twice the size and the speed element is effectively now only 20% rather than 50%, that’s why it’s not working.
Yes, that is so true, and probably closer to what I was doing on SW, or some people put it “on the side” in a separate bowl which also changes the ratios x
I used to be a size 7 then after I had Isabelle I couldn’t fit into a 7 so now I’m a size 8 lol 😂. I love the leopard print boots. I have a pair. They’re so comfy. The beige ones are lovely 🥰. The only way to lose weight is to be in a calorie deficit. The scales aren’t a true reflection of your progress. They vary so much. There’s a difference between weight loss and fat loss. Yes, your consultant doesn’t sound good to be honest. Our group is good but like you I don’t agree with a lot of SW rules like avocados being syns etc. Also I think it’s not always great for your mental health with the focus on the scales. You have a lot of knowledge around food. You know exactly what you are doing. I like the fact you don’t have to weigh everything. Thanks for sharing as always. ❤xxxxxx
Hi hun. It's rubbish. You can't eat unlimited amounts of any food as you well know. This is where speed food is key. I go off the plate method. I always put half a plate of speed on my plate first to ensure I'm portion controlling the carbs and protein. Xx You know better and you're more knowledgeable than your SW consultant hun. Xx
