    I love your tutorials, so simple and helpful to follow. I need advice for the best setting for cutting double sided pearlised card with intricate cuts, making wedding invitations. Can I use a deep point blade so save the number of cuts?

    • @abbikirstencollections
      @abbikirstencollections  Год назад

      Hi Elaine! I wouldn't use a deep point blade. Stick with the fine-point blade and use the Cardstock for Intricate cuts setting. :)

    Thank you -- your tips definitely assisted! Especially educating me on selecting Cardstock for Intricate Cuts -- what a difference! I'm using 80 # Parklane Solid Core and changed from 80 lb Cardstock to Cardstock for Intricate Cuts AND.....no more tearing! Thank you!

    Thank you very much for all of the tips!! Very helpful!! A few months ago I had the tearing problem and cleaned my blade, clean my mat and changed the material type. Then I changed the pressure in the materials setting. I still had the same problem so I bought a new blade. Works great except it’s cutting through into the mat!🤦‍♀️ is there a way to go back to factory settings?

    • @cherimccain12
      @cherimccain12 Год назад

      Mats do get cut. If it's cutting the mat too much use less pressure in the drop down she shows after selecting your material.

      @Abbi Kirsten Gillespie thanks i found it on your channel and have made it now but my goodness i really really struggled with the blue layer, the front piece of the blue layer, i wasted so much cardstock, tried every setting possible, finally had to use a really thick cardstock, set to heavy on the material settings with less pressure which did the job about 80% i still had tearing but had to a patch up job with the good pieces i managed to do.

    I have a question about the Recollections brand foil card stock paper. I had trouble cutting this card stock paper on my Cricut Maker because I couldn’t find any “foil card stock” when I went to “browse materials” so I chose holographic card stock and it didn’t cut through. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Should I have typed in “paper” to get more choices.? Thank you for the great video. It was very helpful.

    • @cherimccain12
      @cherimccain12 Год назад

      Did you try typing in just foil? I have also heard that the material lists vary between the maker and maker 3 as in some are just not there. So you may want to try creating your own setting just for foil cardstock if it isn't in your list. I know there are some videos here with Abbi that explain how to set that up. Also I saw a tip today that says if you put the foil cardstock face down and mirror your design you will get a cleaner cut. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to do that in the near future.

    • @cherimccain12
      @cherimccain12 Год назад

      You can also try not removing the mat and push go again. This way it will cut a second time in the same place. Just make sure you do not remove the mat as it will not cut again exactly the same if you do.

    I have noticed different svg designs on Etsy etc. that say "laser cut svg" can you still cut those on the Cricut with the proper settings? Thanks

    • @cherimccain12
      @cherimccain12 Год назад

      Laser cut, I believe, is for laser cutting machines. Cricut is not a laser cutting machine.

    When I use my scrapbook paper, everytime I take the paper off it'll bring it all up or it will spiral up. Advice?

    • @abbikirstencollections
      @abbikirstencollections  4 месяца назад

      To prevent curling, I find it helpful to flip my mat over and while gently pressing down on the paper pull the mat away from the cardstock instead of trying to pull the paper off the mat.
