Kevin Tobin is the source of so many fantastic GD recordings. Its nice to recognize the name and say thanks- I applaud you, sir!!!! I play your recordings almost EVERY DAY.
Didja like it? That was no ordinary "rock concert" you attended there. I'd do almost anything to be able to go back & do it again. Funny that "Air Supply" and "Styx" never inspired me as deeply as the Grateful Dead did and if you judge them by stage antics or showmanship you might think otherwise. I just hope you had a good time. You were fortunate. (And it's one in 10,000 that come for the show).
You prolly dont care but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Mohammad Esteban I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
To all the kids listening to the glitzy machine made music of today....give this a listen...real musicians playing instruments and performing songs they wrote. You may actually enjoy it.
Garcia plays all around the melody without quite hitting the core of it. He leaves that part to the listener. Incredible, unique, wonderful way to play.
great utube post!!!!!! just the best. love ur detective work on the tapers. your post is a beautiful addition to the history of the dead!!!!! keep up the great work. ( request: jgb from the 1990's....)
@@krisdemars1355 because of the location and the show, everybody I know was just there. It was not planned. That show was magical in so many ways, synchronicities everywhere.
Absolutely! Me too, I was just going to do Atlanta a few days before which was my 2nd show after once before when I was in high school 85 Hollywood sportatorium,Florida so blessed, 88 rocks
@psst...heyyou6508 you couldn't resist a man from nantucket joke in a wholesome grateful dead comment section?.....just to bring it up isn't funny, can you at least do something more creative with it now that You brought it here?
Just in today? very cool. I never caught a Hampton show. Its reputation was good in regard to the band seeming to like playing there. Its always the things missed or left undone that one regrets most. Thank You Kevin for sharing. You're loved & appreciated.
That SIOMWTMBA was the best with Bobby struggling with the lyrics and Jerry coming in to help out. Jerrys face like , "C'mon Bobby, get it together!" Funny cause Bobby usually nails this.
I think this was only the second one (not counting with Dylan). I remember us seeing it on the latest Duprees Diamond News before the show and it was a surprise.
Someone below comments on how humble Jerry Garcia was. A funny story: the fantastic southern country/jazz violinist Vassar Clement tells how he played a gig or so with Jerry, and it wasn't until they rode into town and he saw a billboard that he recognized his employer as the leader of The Dead.

It's fucked w/me for years perhaps he liked the color. I doubt it. I met Bob in the Streets a few times he is so warm and welcoming. Bob believes in equall rights for all, maybe that's the point!
This was probably the best Dead show I ever saw out of about 100, they were on fire this night. The Stir It Up tease and the choreography during Heavens Door were my hilarious.
I don't really think it was a tease. Bob just didn't know the words. He went to Jerry for help and it seemed Jerry said; Sorry kid. You're on your own here. Lol!! So Bob just shut it down instead of trying to fake it. Awesome 3 night stand, as always. :)

One of the best shows I ever saw. Tears…
The first show I was shut out at. Listened to it on short wave in the parking lot. Anyone remember the rainbow earlier in the afternoon? 🌈
Never had such a time in my life before..... 🌹✨
There is never a good place to stop when it's the Dead. I've been stuck here for about 12 hours.
Loving this, especially today....
It's pretty good today too..
Today as well...R.I.P. Phil!
Ive really enjoyed this concert. Thanks Grateful Dead.

This was such a wonderful show. My housemates and I from Nantucket came down to Virginia and combined with my Virginia folks.
So friends got together with other new friends and went to a dead show?

Hampton was my favorite venue. I saw every Spring show there; from '84 through '89.

Ok. I heard rumours of the SIU. It lived up to the hype. I love them for trying.
