thank you for this fabulous tutorial.Without it I would have abandoned the project. The written one is impossible to figure out and I have been crocheting and knitting for over 75 years.
You were my very first RUclips crochet instructor when I was learning to crochet.. can't thank you snuff for all the awesome videos!! Love learning from you very thoroughly explain the patterns which I'm still learning to read.. thanks again for all you do!! Stay blessedQ
Thank you for the wonderful FREE tutorial, Mikey! That you give us crocheters and knitters the gift of your knowledge and patience with difficult patterns , so that we may expand our skills, is just wonderful! I'm self taught and struggle with intricate patterns sometimes, but your tutorials really help. I had to slow the video down for Row 3, but after a few starts and misses, it made sense and the blanket worked up quickly and beautifully. I gifted it to a friend going through chemo and it was much appreciated. Again, thank you for offering your services for FREE (I don't think this can be emphasized enough)!
This tutorial was so well put together and was very easy to follow. I'm going to have to revisit the herringbone concept as I definitely messed up somewhere near the beginning of my blanket haha. It definitely doesn't look right, but that's ok lol
Thank you so much for this video. This is a beautiful blanket! This is my first more advanced blanket, and the video was so easy to follow. I am almost done and will post a photo when it's all finished.
Enjoy these videos Wanting to learn crocheting and your info and technique is fantastic This is your gift and I'm glad you're sharing it with all of us Talented calm voice and easy pace Thank you
I just want to to tell you how amazing you are Mike. All of your work is jut so beautiful you are the best crocheter that I have came across. I just want to say how much I appreciate your talents. Just so beautiful. Thank you 😊
I think this will be challenging however with your step by step instructions I think I can do it. 😊 I will definitely try. Thank you again for your wonderful tutorials.

If you aren't changing colors, why tie off at the end of the herringbone section to start the edging? Why not just turn the work to the right side and go across with the single crochets?
Your tutorial has helped explain this pattern so much! Thank you! I’m following but my herringbones don’t look as sharp and pointy. They look more rounded. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I have undone and redone it twice and watched your video numerous times. Yours looks so much better (and more like herringbone) than mine.
Dear Mikey. I fell in love with you guys as soon as I discovered your channel and crochet talents. Crocheting is my therapy. It helps me to get into my own bubble. My yarn is my happiness. My joy my peace. I will love to cruise with 🛳 guys. Much love be blessed.
I love the look of this stitch pattern!! 🤩 This will be one to do for sure. Just subbed and will be stalking and lurking on your channel. 😁😂 Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful design, can’t wait to finish this one! You helped me learn to crochet a couple of years ago and I just wanted to say thank you for all of your awesome videos :) It’s been so fun making your designs, and you’re so incredibly helpful. I do have a question for you- I’m a little rusty after not crocheting for a year and I’m having trouble with this yarn twisting. Any tips to keep it straight?
@@TheCrochetCrowd wow, thanks for your super quick reply! As I crochet I’m feeding it through my pinky and over my pointer finger, but this bernat blanket yarn keeps twisting as I go. It’s hard to explain in text… but if you have any tips I’m all ears! Otherwise, I’ll just keep practicing :)
I used 5 balls of the yarn used in this video and that was enough for the blanket without the border and tassells. I am guessing I will need 2-3 more for that.
I have this actually do in a bag and the seamline is pretty invisible. Check this link out and see. thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-rising-tides-bag-tutorial/
Anyone find after 11 rows that their blanket was way too wide? Just me?? It was (coincidentally) 66in wide😂 Starting over with tighter tension and less in the chain. Tried smaller needle but couldn’t see stitches. Thank you for the tutorial! I tried without and 🤯
I love love the herringbone stitch. Been looking for a stitch for an easy afghan. Perfect match. Is the 8mm hook small for the blanket yarn? I normally use a 10 or 11.5mm hook for that thick a yarn? What would the differences be? I am still new/learning.
I’m wondering if I have to crochet into the back hump of the chain in the first round, or if it’s just something that will allow me to see the spaces better?? I’m more comfortable going into the front of the chain….will this affect my project in any way?? Someone please help. I’m a fairly new crocheter so I’d appreciate any and all advice! Thanks in advance.
It's a personal preference of mine. I have learned that doing the back hump allows me to have perfect stitch count. However, if you prefer the front, do it. :)

My pleasure. Good luck on this stitching journey.
Really excited about this pattern. Already started and doing it with 2 colors instead of one. Can’t wait to finish and show the final result!!!!
I was considering doing 2 colors! Making it as a Christmas present
I'm crocheting this now! I love this pattern, thank you Mikey, could not done this without you!
Great job!
Thanks so much. I really understood the pattern!
The texture of the yarn is making it a little harder to see than smooth.

thanks , your explanation is the best its perfect specially for the beginners 👏
Really nice pattern - Very classy. Well done video, very helpful. Thanks a bunch for posting. This blanket has been added to my to-do list!

This is what I did. Seems to work out just fine
agreed
Very confused. I couldn’t understand the third row when you’re grabbing the Harringbone and when you’re not. I just gave up, very confusing to me
HI MIKEY🤗. LOVE THIS. GREAT JOB🙏🏼

@@realtor_roxy_atx that is so strange. I’ve not had that happen to me. I don’t know.
I had that twisting issue too and figured out to use the yarn from the outside of the skeins instead of the inside.
Gorgeous - and it appears to work up quickly!
Dziękujemy.
Thank you kindly for the extra trip. Appreciate that a lot.
I'm curious how many balls of yarn are needed. I'm intersted in using a different yarn that is close to the weight and yardage of what your using.
I used 5 balls of the yarn used in this video and that was enough for the blanket without the border and tassells. I am guessing I will need 2-3 more for that.
WOW...BEAUTIFUL !!!
Wow love love love
THanks so much.
Woow thank u very clear
Thanks so much.
Don't think I could have do this without the tutorial. Out of curiosity, have you tried it with a thinner yarn?
Yes, you can use medium weight yarn. Just adjust your hook down.
@@TheCrochetCrowd 😊

It would be tighter. You use more yarn with a larger hook but you can still do this with your preferred size if you want. Up to you.
Muito lindo
Thank you! Your tutorial helped me so much. Do you remember what the colour is called that you are using? I love that colour!
It's possibly seafoam. :) It's pretty.
Beautiful 😍 😘
Thanks.
Hello plz tell me how many gram of yarn in each normal blanket? Reply fast
Soooo beautul!
Nice!
I there a way the the herringbone stitch can be shown on each side? Thank you for an answer.
Is 110 for length or width of blanket? What is suggested for queen size ?
Si fuese en español, sería un 10!
OMG ! This feels emotionally demanding I love it so much.!
But really !!! 6-6-6 !!!!! Don't mess with my poor mind.
My word, this made me laugh. You have a way with words.
Right 😅

Too funny yes I remember think you’re battleship my brother and I played every day
Could 4 ply yarn be used instead of blanket yarn
How many yards required for the above blanket ?
The download version states it takes 7 balls for a 50x60 blanket
Hello!! What number of crochet hook did you use?
8mm
Não consigo ver o trabalho como deve ser .A descrição do k faz esta mesmo em cima do trabalho podia estar mais em baixo
Can you use different yarn
I also remember sinking battle ships. 🤪
Por favor, agregar subtítulos en español, gracias!!!
I’m noticing my herringbones have quite a big gap between them. Could that be a tension issue?
Do you think you may be too loose. I would do a few rows before deciding that though. it does pull together.
can this be done as stripes ?
How many skeins of yarn do you need for this pattern?
All of our videos have the free pattern linked in the video description. If you just go there, you can get all of the details. :)
