G'day James, Firstly, we must all appreciate the beautiful ForeDeck & Aft Deck of Philipa ;) She definitely added to the amazing scenery. Congrats on 100K subs mate. It was nice to finally see the Oyster's interior dry! The exterior of your boat looked incredibly nice mate! Once all the woodwork and finished carpentry on the interior is completed, along with electronics and electrical systems in general, she's gonna be an absolute stunning & fun boat to cruise in the open-ocean. Your friends Bavaria was gorgeous, along with his wife ;) I had a 2014 semi-custom Bavaria 46' Vision. I sold it last year (Feb. 2020) , in order to help fund the purchase of my new 2021 McConaghy MC60 Multihull (catamaran). Good luck on passage ~ back to the States (Florida). Cheers from Margaret River, Western Australia 🇦🇺.

I am not sure, but....I think that super yacht was originally called "Zeus" and was 1st owned by Prince Andrew in the late 70's early 80"s. There is a submarine inside. My Pappy (dad), Moose (mom), Zanou (Rotty-wild pet), and I were cruising the East Coast of FL. Spending the night in Fort Lauderdale, FL in the famous marina. Lord Behold! This super yacht took the entire side dock, with a security gate and private security. I asked if I can have permission to take pictures and see it closer. They said sure! Good that damages were not too severe from what you've said, the retrofits to prevent future problems will be interesting. If you want to get lobster, you need to find the rocks and other structures they hide under.. so maybe take a tow behind the tender to sort out what's worth diving on 'round the anchorage or get a fish finder that can map the bottom features so you can GPS mark them for later dives. Great scenery, hope this is indicative of future adventures !

I think this video was filmed before the near sinking...Laura is still around on this one. James was pretty busy making smart remarks when the safety briefing was on, perhaps he'll show more attention to safety since his own boat was so close to sinking. Hey James if you intend to make a living with your RUclips channel why don't you pay more attention to putting your movies into context...you can see how many people are confused about the sequencing of this movie. I really don't understand how you can find the time to go off for a week's holiday when you're supposed to be under so much time pressure to get your own boat sorted and off to the States.

This C57 is very beautiful boat. A boat also need to be reliable and well built, something that need to be done without taking shortcuts.
What bothers me the most is the following:
    1. The main deck is not a part of the hull structure as it is glued and, eventually bolted to the hull
    2. The frame to which the ballast is attached, is also glued to the interior of the hull
Both of these solutions absolutely doesn’t helps to increase the rigidity of the boat!
Have a search on YT and you can find an Bavaria who hit the bottom and had a ballast frame detached from the hull!
I understand that boat production should be optimised to reduce cost but Hey! this Bavaria C57 was paid almost a Million US$!!!
Don’t you think that a owner deserved a better build boat?
    Love you all
    All the best

The Bavaria is a modular boat built using vacuum infusion and they are made to be as light as possible. I’m sure the Captain did his research before shelling out $1.3 mil.

As for the deck joint, with EVERY GRP hull this is the only construction possible and got nothing to do with Bavaria like being their special weakness. Almost the same holds true to the ballast keel.

@@professorvoluck9311 Vacuum infusion has nothing to do with gluing the Decot to the hull, neither with gluing the boat bottom frame to the hull either!
Glued surfaces are the weak points! Don’t need to be rocket scientist to understand that.

@@johnmayer3433 NOT EVERY GRP boat is build this way!
AMEL Maramu and alike were build WITHOUT a joint! The hull AND the deck were glassed in the same time! The glass from the hull topsides continued to the deck and the entire boat was ONE piece!
It is easier to build in two parts (hull + deck) but it’s weaker.
Why Bavaria didn’t made the joint by lying fiberglass and applying a resin, either hand lying or by infusion???
Simply because GLUING is easier, faster and CHEAPER!
      But also WEAKER!

Your lady crew is still aboard after you almost sunk her. I was worried about that. The fact you are now down in the bilges going through everything may in the long run be a good thing.
