Well, we went out with our Arrma’s last weekend and yep we both broke the front suspension lower arms, got some replacements coming so that we can soon get back out there. @@PeteWylieRC ok I'll try to improve, basically when I turned on the car and turned the control to the left, the car turned to the right, that is, it was inverted, so I put it in reverse on the control to return to normal, I would like to understand why it happened like this inverted way
Hey Pete so I installed this servo on my Vorteks and all works well except there’s a buzzing coming from the servo when I turn it. I’m assuming it’s binding somewhere? I tried backing off the screw that holds the horn down but it doesn’t seem to change anything. Have you ran into this problem during a new servo install?
Hi there. If it's only buzzing at the extreme ends of steering then you need to reduce the steering rate. If it's all the time then I guess you need to take the servo out and see if there is any resistance in the linkage when you move it manually. Also see if the servo moves ok when out of the car. Otherwise I'm not sure. Good luck!
@@PeteWylieRC this morning during breakfast I found a little barrel shaped spacer that looks like it would fit perfectly into the piece that sits between the horn arms. That’s gotta be my issue but I haven’t tested yet.

Hi Pete another great video. I’ve done the servo upgrade as suggested. Having issues with AVC since the swop. Works perfectly when AVC fully off. Steers hard right when turned on for no reason. Anything you’ve experienced with this servo previously? Thanks again.
Hi there. I haven't had that issue with any of mine but they don't have an AVC function. One of them has a gyro in the receiver and that works as expected which is to correct oversteer. Sorry I can't help but I think it must be a setting rather than the servo. Many thanks for your kind feedback about the video 👍
@@PeteWylieRC of course it’s only the Vorteks with AVC. I will attempt another re-bind and re-calibration and see if it sorts. Great servo by the way. Super quick and responsive.
Cool servo upgrade Pete have you tried turning this truck or your Granite on its side to see if can do a side wheely you know what 007 did in the 1989 " License to Kill" flick with the semi truck?? LOL.
Hi there. Yeah you can sometimes get it to drive on one side for a bit but I don't think I've captured that on video. It's more luck than skill when it happens 😂
Mate,if you look at the bottom of your Arrma you will see dots near 4 screws. Undo all the screws near the dots, the whole lots comes out a a unit. Much easier to work on then.
Hi there. Oh yeah I have done that way also. I think I mention it in one of the videos but I tend to use the method shown here. Many thanks indeed for your kind feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍

Hi Carmine. Yeah the supplied servo does seem a bit low on power but it was performing OK although the new one is much better. Yes brute force is always an option. I think that you do need a servo saver with these bashers that do jumps and have high speed crashes. Not tried them without though so I guess a high KG servo might survive? Many thanks for your great comments. Best wishes to you :-)
I agree Mate.... I still use Servo Savers on open Wheel Buggies, and anything for Bashing. I just always use Kimborough... They're strong and have NO play!! 😁 I believe that Kimborough makes Aarma and TRAXXASS Servo Savers. All the best to you!!
Hey pete, I've done this mod and for some reason my rig won't steer straight,it tends to go right a bit or left within a few feet every so often. I changed the servo saver to a 25t servo saver and it still tends to do this...any idea what it could be? Thx in advance for any info if you have any.
Hi there. Did you do the check of the servo saver function while the servo was out of the car? With the power on and the servo centralised you should be able to force the servo saver in one direction or the other and it springs back to the centre. Other than that is the servo working properly? Can't think of anything else. Thanks for watching the video.
@@PeteWylieRC i can go over it again...i don't have a 23t spline servo or servo savor...it's 25 to 25 that's what i don't understand...when i tried with the 25 to 23servo it kept pulling, now with the 25kg servo 25t spline ss it still does it.

@@PeteWylieRC ok I'll try to improve, basically when I turned on the car and turned the control to the left, the car turned to the right, that is, it was inverted, so I put it in reverse on the control to return to normal, I would like to understand why it happened like this inverted way
@@marcosfmtb Oh I see. Some brands of servo work in the opposite direction to others so I suspect it's just that 🤔
@@PeteWylieRC got you, thanks friend for the attention!!!
@@kez850 yeah that might be the pivot ball. It certainly needs to be in there.
@@PeteWylieRC hey Pete I appreciate your replies! It was 100% the pivot ball that fell out. Had no idea it was in there until I noticed it on the table. All is well now. Thanks again for your help, and this video!
Is it as easy as u made it look lol really wanna upgrade mine but I'm nervous the first time my slipper clutch come loose I over tightened it and it snapped the hex bolt off inside when I pulled off lol
Oh dear that's not good about your clutch. The servo change isn't too tricky. Good luck!
@@PeteWylieRC thank u 🙏👍
I bought the same servo and it works but it makes a very weird noise. I will post a short if you wanna hear the sound.
Oh right. Yeah I'll have a look and listen if you post a video 😁
Super quick and responsive.
make sure the receiver is flat and when you turn it on make sure it's on a flat surface otherwise it will randomly steer when you dont.
Great how to video 👍
Many thanks indeed 😁
Cool servo upgrade Pete have you tried turning this truck or your Granite on its side to see if can do a side wheely you know what 007 did in the 1989 " License to Kill" flick with the semi truck?? LOL.
Hi there. Yeah you can sometimes get it to drive on one side for a bit but I don't think I've captured that on video. It's more luck than skill when it happens 😂
@@PeteWylieRC Just like 007 in that film and in many of all his flicks it's luck too LOL
hi friend. is it ok if we use usual servo Horn instead of servo saver? I play my Arrma Senton for layout race (track)
Not sure but I think you will break the gears in the servo depending on how strong it is. Not something I've tried to be honest.
How long did this last for you?
Hi there. It is still on the car now and working 👍
@PeteWylieRC have you used it alot?
7kg?? In one of THOSE!!???
I like that access hole. Well thought out that! 👍👍
Hey Mate, I've "jammed" Servo Horns on before!! 😳 Plastic onto Metal seems to have worked for me in the past, when I used to use Servo Savers!! 😋😂
I imagine that will work much better for you. It's certainly faster.
Cheers 🍻 Mate!!!
I believe that Kimborough makes Aarma and TRAXXASS Servo Savers.
All the best to you!!
@@CarminesRCTipsandTricks ok many thanks for the tip my friend 😁
How good does this servo center?
Seems to center perfectly. Not had any issues.
@@humblebeast7232 Did you do the test that I do at about 3:30 in the video just to check that the saver is springing back to the centre ok?
@@PeteWylieRC i haven't been out with my rigs as of late but i am going today for sure to check. Thx Pete🙏 I'll keep you posted
Hey Pete, how long would you say the stock servos last on these trucks? Very informative as usual, thanks for sharing brother and have you thought of changing out the tires yet? I’m thinking I’m gonna try out the granite tires on mine
Hi there. Hard to say about the servo as I have changed them out fairly quickly and they have gone into light 2wd cars where they are fine. I did try the Granite wheels on the Big Rock and they do work well. Haven't tried any from other manufacturers. Many thanks for watching my friend 😁
@@PeteWylieRC yeah I know you like to swap yours out to use for other vehicles, I’ve heard they go out fairly quickly but I haven’t had any problems with the servos on any of my vehicles, I was just wondering, the only issue I’ve noticed with my BigRock is the cogging but I think I know what’s causing that, gonna definitely get some extra granite tires for the big rock too, they do work a lot better, less traction rolling for sure
@@rcreviews9894 might be a dodgy ESC on your Big Rock? My original Granite one went like that and they replaced it. New one worked fine.
My typhon 3s servo stopped working on my 4th or 5th run.
Do you still water proof your receiver with hot glue
Hi. Yeah I still do that on all mine even if they are in a box because the boxes sometimes leak.
@@PeteWylieRC good!!! I did it to all my rc cars thanks to you 😁 I did it on the day I got my arrma senton
@@christiansrcs7789 Glad that was helpful. It just makes sure that they don't get water in. Voids the warranty but I don't think I've had a receiver that packed up in the first year anyway. Thanks for the feedback :-)
Hi my arma vortek turns by itself I am told its the servo can anyone help me please
Do you mean it's turning randomly as it goes along without you touching the steering?
How long can this actually last for?
Do you mean the upgraded servo? I've got these in 4 of my Arrma cars and all still working fine. Thanks for watching 😁
@@PeteWylieRC Oh sorry I meant the servo saver. I'm planning on doing the same too and just wanted to save a few bucks from buying another saver :)
@@anong345 Oh right I see. Yeah I've done this on my Senton and Big Rock and the servo saver hasn't slipped round or anything. Those cars have been hammered on a regular basis. The servo spines sort of carve their own grooves in the plastic servo saver. Probably wouldn't work so well if the servo splines were also plastic.
@@PeteWylieRC That's good to hear. Thanks for all the help
Goood explication !
Glad it was helpful. Many thanks for your feedback 😁
Hate it when companies do silly things like use proprietary servo splines… I’ve never ever had a servo spline strip out, seems like a money grab just to make people buy one of their servos or servo savers.
Well I think that to be fair to them the 23t spline servo goes back a long way which is why Tamiya give you a choice of servo attachments on their kits. It would be nice if everyone could decide on 25t now though. Many thanks for watching and your feedback 😁
Thanks
Thank you for watching 😁👍
why did you not show the end result... the speed and response of the new servo. hahaha
Oh yeah that would have been good. I know I showed that in another vid I have done but I can't find it now. Just imagine an RC with nice fast steering 😂
