    Good to see Hitec in the review, I have about 20 hitec servos bought over the last 20 years. They build a great servo and they back up their product with a 2 year warranty. I had one go out after 3 years and I sent if for repair. I was expecting to pay about $30.00 and they simply fixed it for free. I also like they are based in San Diego and you call them for tech support.

      @@danielbrown7796 You should be more than fine with a 35kg amazon servo - cheap and powerful. I wouldn't bother with the 25kg as in my experience it is no better than stock.

    Your reviews are always my go to for information before I purchase a product. My latest SCX10.3 build is kind of a budget build with the 1080 esc, tekin 35t motor, amazon 35kg servo, and a Flysky GT5. I run it against a friend with a VS410 Pro with a Mamba X and 2850kv and a Futaba servo, and a Futaba 4PM. He has twice the money in his rig than I do, but i can run all the same lines he does. As always thanks for all your content.

    I'll never buy another reefs rc servo, I had a 555 in my trx4 for about a year and then it started eating gears out of no where. I reached out to reefs multiple times and never got an answer from them in regards to warranty. My previous hitec 7950th lasted me 10 years.....

    Thank you for your input and sharing this video. I own a Clodbuster and a Juggernaut, we all know how horrible their steering designs were. And imagine when they first came out, the standard servos back then were only rated around 8kg/cm if I’m not mistaken. I had a Solar Servo D772 rated at 26.5kg/cm @ 6vdc, and it still wasn’t enough to turn the wheels at a standstill even with aluminum servo horns in the axles. I now use the JConcepts BTA steering kit for the Clod, and the Solar Servo D227 rated at 13.5kg/cm @ 6vdc are enough to turn the wheels on carpet or pavement. So I could just imagine what these newer servos could do.

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  2 года назад +2

      Oh yeah! There's the problem too where the spec sheet numbers on the servos is wrong and inflated. I have a 45kg servo right now on my Losi LMT monster truck and it's yanking those tires left/right.

    • @galkawarrior
      @galkawarrior 2 года назад

      RC Review if my servos rated at 13.5kg are enough to move the wheels at a standstill, then definitely those 45kg would throw them around easily. But I don’t think even your $200 Futaba servo could save the Clod from its flawed steering design. There are some purist out there who still uses the stock steering setup.
      My apologies if I’m off topic just now. So let’s get back to it, would you mind actually using the 1cm hole for those servos rated in kg/cm and the 1in hole for those rated in oz/in? I don’t remember seeing if you establish the distance of the hole to the center of the spline with the servo horn you used in the video. I hope I made sense. 😅

    As an owner of over a dozen AGFRC servos, I can confidently state that the "best buy" of their line is the SA75CVSW, a 3S-direct powered model spec'd at 0.09sec/60º and 584oz @ 12v... and it's 75 bucks. I own the AGFRC 66kg, and I can tell you-- no one needs that much torque. If you're looking 4S direct, you cannot beat the NSDRC RS-500B (0.09sec/60º and 500oz @ 16.8v) at a whopping $59.99.

  • @nick_cnc
    @nick_cnc 2 года назад

    The reason so many of the servos you measure are "under spec" is because your jig only measures the vertical component of a force being applied at an angle. There's a horizontal component of the force generated by the servo that you're not measuring at all. If you want to be accurate you should either align the jig so the link between the servo arm and the scale is perfectly vertical so there is no horizontal component to the force or use some basic trig to calculate the actual force vector.

    Great, and very helpful, review Francis. In past reviews you have always been a fan of Savox, especially their 1210 series - what happened to change your mind? I’ve been running the 1210 and 1212 based on your recommendation and have not been disappointed at all. At this point I prefer to run the 1212 (which is rated at over 600 oz at 7.4v) as a direct connect via my ESC. I know that I’m probably only pulling 350-400 in that configuration but the servos run forever configured that way. Thanks for the continued great content.

    Great job explaining everything, but I disagree with the over 100 dollars for a high voltage/high torque "good servo". Ive bought 2 brushless servos, Flash Hobby 45kg and Yipin/GXservo 70kg, for $51 and $54 dollars each. Both servos have tested within the stated kg and run 8.4v, fast speeds at .11 and .09 @ 8.4v each. Both of these servos are better than anything you recommended for price vs performance vs build quality, obviously this is just my opinion and not meant to be offensive in any way.
    Most of these "name brand" servos are overpriced for what they offer, and we as hobbyists need to recognize that this price gouging for products needs to stop. How can you justify spending 200 dollars for a servo that may or may not quit working after 1 use? Id rather spend 50 dollars on a "lesser known" high quality servo and have it die after 1 use. Just my two cents 🤷‍♂

    Why is the NSDRC RS800v2 not on this list?
    What about their rs1?
    Literally the two best servo's and customer service on the market.

      Maybe you missed when he tested their servos previously and NSD sent him a letter threatening lawsuit because they didn't like the numbers his test stands showed. Mine test lower on Francis's equipment than my torque meter as well, but thats just the nature of a unique test stand. we can compare servos to each other on the same stand but not compare to the numbers on the box.

    There are a lot of guys switching to send-it RC Servos for 1/8 racing. I haven't seen them on your channel, but hope you do a reveiw on them sometime!

      send-it RC servos are rebranded/manufactured by AGFRC, they seem to be cheaper than the actual branded AGFRC servos due to that too, neat! He has a video on those and there is plenty of other reviews on the AGFRC servos.

    Bought one of those red servos on Amazon for my 2wd stampede, doesn't fit without some significant trimming. It's about 2mm too large. I didn't put it in.

    Yeah i had that red amazon/chinese servo in my rustler 4x4 vxl it lasted less than a year also the tsm didn't worked with it (technically it works but it can't keep the car straight too weak to pull back once i try to steer to the opposite direction) 10/10 not recomment that one...

    Can we please get a micro servo review? I run a B13DLM titanium gear I'd love to see it compared to the emax lineup, the reefs 99 and maybe the AGFRC-A20CLS. My b13 is wired to the balance wire and runs 8.5 potentially on a full charge, so 9v torture test please.

    Francis, enjoy your videos, but you are testing them all with the arm at 1" from center. A more appropriate way to rate the servos would be to say 25Kg @ 1cm. Your servo arm is attached over twice the distance away from center to ascertain a correct Kg-cm rating!

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  2 года назад

      Correct. My servo arm is 1 inch long so I only measure oz in values. To get the kg cm rating, I use a translation program that is very accurate. convert-to.com/conversion/torque/convert-ozf-in-to-kgf-cm.html
      So I believe my kg cm numbers are accurate to what i measure with our equipment

    • @doftcha
      @doftcha 2 года назад

      @@RCReviewChannel Yes, I see your conversions are accurate, I just wonder if servos follow a linear path. I wonder if you put arm at 0.4" if the measured torque would increase exponentially? In the end since all your servos are measured the same way, and since most vehicles will have around 1" throw arm it provides a great comparison...thanks!

    Any chance you'll look at some of the 6S direct power servos? Like the 3Brothers G14 or the NHX MAX6? I have the latter in my Arrma Kraton and it's pretty awesome. Would love to know what these 6S servos actually do in terms of performance on your rig!

Have a better option and or cheaper alternative then these 2? Was also looking at the hitech hs 5645MG which is $45 and 143oz @ 4.8v
