the nice thing is that when you put the lof to modulate the pitch in 1/64, it turns into a kind of fm lead... its a different and very interesting result of this process you showed. thanks, awesome as always

Very nice! Also : LiveCut set on warpcut for some randomised Squarepusher-like effects you Can cherrypick later. + dBlue Glitch for extra fx layer. I use this technic all the time

Dash, you're a freaking legend to me already and I'm not even particularly into psytrance. I've been producing for less than a year using Logic but I like going pretty deep into designing each sound. I'm not making music from these genres but it's still so relavent. It's honestly changing my life to such an extent that I might have to start cranking up the BPM. Major respect. All sound design seems to trickle down from psytrance 🙏
Yeah man psytrance was the first form of 4 to the floor trance music along with house from the us, im serious it all Started in Goa in the late 80s and trance actually came after they watered it down. Every producer should learn how to produce psytrance as its so so figging demanding in sound design and use of FX. Glad your learning from this dude :)

Another trick I use is making long record takes but flick between presets, sometimes when the VSTi is changing between sounds they synth makes even more unique glitches, so I chop those up and cherry pick those
hah yes i have had the exact same experience many times that the synth is kind of morphing between the patches when you are scrolling through presets while the midi track is playing. so many times those short morph moments sound so much cooler than the actual presets themself...

I would be very interested in how Astrix produced this very simple yet epic-sounding baseline in his track "Reunion".
For someone like you, it should be easy to analyze and copy this track or do something like this.
I know some will now think that this song is not worth making a video about, but for me this would be absolutely amazing if you could do it for me and I would be really, really grateful to you. Unfortunately, only massive and serum are available for me.

At this point i wonder if we couldn't just have an algorythm that squeezes out an infinite stream of psytrance beats.

nah that would be fucking boring, making psytrance is a journey from your emotions and energy into a story and that means NO sample packs either as thats fucking boring too and isn't part of you. Every one of my songs except Shadows is made from scratch except maybe a few tweaked presets. Sometimes this has to be done if you cant figure out a certain sound so I go through presets till I find a few that are close to what's in my head then I move almost every parameter to get it more and more psychedelic. Music should be an extension of you and not just an algorithm made by programmes where is the achievement in that??

wow,... that's i always looking for, can u make same things with the other synth, like serum or sylenth. please make my dreams coming true :D
you can do this in serum just FM a saw with a sine pitched 2 octaves down... then set up an lfo1 with sine wave on the mast tune in the matrix... then set up an lfo2 to the lfo1s rate and make the lfo2 a random crazy shape.... while your there assign macro 1 to lfo1s aux source to control random pitch mix... after that you need a freq shifter... in ableton you can set a random lfo in the effect and play with the rate and mix.....
with #ARTFX best Phase Plant fellow. Is there a way to stay in key?

for those who dont have this synth check out this Free plugin valhalladsp.com/shop/delay/valhalla-freq-echo/ it will get you the same effect as its a frequency shifter just like this synth fx
