Why did he leave out John Paul Jones- great bassist, arranger, mandolinist, keyboardist
The unsung hero of Zep.
“The Beatles have little impact”
WTF? Where did this music teacher go to school?
It depends on taste but we all can agree The Beatles had a huge impact and is iconic
Music teacher and he doesn't know the impact of the Beatles in music, that's sad.
I’m 17 my opinion:
1. The Beatles
2. Led Zeppelin
3. Pink Floyd
Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, The Who and Floyd. The 5 greatest of all time. Collectively nailed blues rock, pop rock, hard rock, progressive/psychedelic rock, and even country rock.
Honourable mentions go to Deep Purple, Sabbath, Metallica and AC/DC
I’m 30th this year. My choice would be:
1. The Beatles
2. The Rolling Stones
3. Led Zeppelin
I am 15 and my list is
1. The Beatles
2. Pink Floyd
3. Led Zeppelin
I Also wanted The Doors on the list but couldn’t fit.
I always thought how crazy it was to see the growth The Beatles had, from Please Please Me to Sergeant Pepper is amazing growth in a short amount of time
Rolling Stones , Jimi Hendrix experience, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the doors , Cream , The Eagles , CCR 💙
Beatles, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd
Impact??they have only 10 albums tf
together for 8 years still the greatest band of all time
Beatles, Pink floyd, Zeppelin
You should have mentioned the importance of John Paul Jones, at bass guitar, contrabass, keyboards and other instruments that he played. He was the base for Zep music 💯
Beatles, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Stones
I have to agree with Howard, based on the parameters. They influenced culture with their music.
I can name ten bands of my list
1. The Beatles
2. Led zeppelin
3. Pink floyd
4. The rolling stones
5. Queen
6. The jimi hendrix experience
7. The who
8. The beach boys
9. The doors
10. Black sabbath
If you listen to The Beatles catalogue from start to end you can literally here the evolution of music. When you listen to anything pre Rubber Soul it sounds like 50's music, simple rock and roll. But Listen to anything after Rubber Soul you can hear the new sounds they made through experimenting with different instruments as well as different recording procedures. There is no modern day music without The Beatles. They literally created a new way of music, how it is made and how it sounds. As much credit as they receive for their music, I feel like they don't receive enough credit for how they truly changed what music even is/was. Should be taught in history classes around the world.
I love Rush. They deserve to be in the discussion, but I have to agree with Howard here for top three rock bands.
I love Queen BUT Queen fans have to understand that not everyone thinks Queen is the greatest band!!!👍🏼
Yeah, not a fan. I respect them but not into them. Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin (also Rush) way ahead of them, in my book.
Best comment I've seen
Same goes for Pink Floyd fans. Two most toxic rock fanbases.
Yeah and not everyone think the beatles are great
Well, I agree with Howard Stern on the list of top three greatest rock bands of all time. However, John Paul Jones has contributed as much as the other members of the band. He is an instrumental genius, a melody master... He should be mentioned more often
Beatles, stones and zeppelin!
Always!
I prefer the stones though. Because of the amount of great albums and songs and of course of their great live performances!
Pink Floyd!
For me it’s
1: The Beatles
2: Pink Floyd
3: Led Zeppelin
The fact that The Rolling Stones sprang from the Blues is actually my own killer argument.
Beatles Stones Zeppelin
Britain, Britain, Britain. The Who and Queen could round out a wholly British top five. You're welcome world.
All from England !
LED ZEPPELIN, Led Zeppelin, led zeppelin
Thieves
Howards top 3 is undeniable. Then you have Pink Floyd AC/DC The Who
Guns n Roses Rush Metallica Queen.
My personal top 10.
Ramones, doors, u2, & the eagles.
Beatles, Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones......conversation is over!
Stones stones stones 👍
also, U2 is my number 5 or 6. Respect. maybe I'm just a Gen Xer, but man, from 1985 to 1995 they were bad ass. neck n neck with Metallica, I say.
Rush is in my top 10, but your 1-2-3 are solid.
The Beatles, Queen, Led Zeppelin
The Beatles, Led Zep, Pink Floyd
I'd have to agree with Howard's list. I'm not the biggest fan of those bands but they without a doubt have had the biggest impact and most influence on all rock music that came after.
The Beatles = Harmony
The Rolling Stones = Unique
Led Zeppelin = Musicality
1. Zeppelin 2. Beatles 3. Floyd
1.Beatles 2.Led Zeppelin 3.queen 4.Pink Floyd 5.rolling stones
I’m not mad at you Kyle I’m just disappointed
Without The Beatles, the British Invasion would never happen and we all know most of the greatest band of all time are from Britain..without Beatles these great bands may never enter the American market
I Agree with Howard! He nailed it 1-3 The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and LED Zeppelin.
Pink Floyd
S j Goode..well said mate..someone with common sense 👍
@@victorarredondo304 true
Beatles , Zeppelin, then The Stones. In that order.
Yes, that exact order. The “Beatles vs Stones” debate is no debate at all. The Stones are nowhere near the same league as the Beatles.
The Who!
Totally agree!
Those are all generational bound and one can not zero it down to 3 bands.
Beatles 60's
Zeppelin 70's
Guns n Roses 80's
Nirvana 90's
Whatever bastard shit for the last 20 years
NO just NO. Stones >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Zeppelin. I honestly think Zeppelin being top 3 is very debatable. But top 2 is cemented. Beatles and Stones. Always was. Always will be.
Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix Experience...So hard not to put Beach Boys Cream, The Who, Sabbath, and the Stones tho
beach boys and cream?
1. Queen
2. Led Zeppelin
3. The Beatles
Top 3 is hard, but top 5 will always be & it's not even close
1: Rolling Stones
2: Pink Floyd
3: Beatles
4: Queen
5: Led Zeppelin
The Beatles!
Very tough, pink Floyd have to be considered as a possibility, genesis often gets forgotten as a 70s band that also influenced the 80s.
For me personally the top 5
1.zeppelin
2.beatles
3.Pink Floyd
4.Rolling stones
5.the Doors.
The Beatles was a very big influence and they spearhead the rock and roll scene for all the great British bands to come. I have massive respect for them but zeppelin takes the no.1 spot for me because they got a legendary frontman, legendary guitar wizard,a legendary bassist who plays anything with strings or keys on it and the mighty Hammer of the Gods himself John Henry Bohnam. It's like how professor x accidentally made powerpuff girls but it's God making Led Zeppelin.
I hold the Beatles and Zeppelin up there, and I couldn’t name my 3rd quick enough but I like the Stones there. So many more you could fit in, I might have to put Skynryd in my top 5.
Not enough people talking about The Who!
Beatles, Stones, The Who
1 The Beatles
2 Pink Floyd
3 Like a 100 bands tie
1. The Beatles
2. Led Zeppelin
3. Pink Floyd
I agree that Rush is one of the greatest of all time.
Zeppelin, Stones, Pink Floyd
All British ✌️
I once had a music teacher in college who said that the beatles may sound good but technically they were rubbish... it was in that moment I decided not to study music further.
The Beatles were the timeless band of all music history, not only because of their unique sound, but, most importantly, many of their songs had the most unique structures that anyone had ever heard 🎶🎶
The Beatles
Led Zeppelin
Queen
Rolling Stones
Pink Floyd
The eagles
Guns n roses
AC/DC
The Who
Van Halen
Nirvana
And many others....
These bands are just amazing and they all made absolutely wonderful music.I wish I could just travel back in time😓😓
Ikr Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are my favourite
@@mikengare4681 same here. They were one of a kind
Add Metallica, U2, Ramones, Black Sabbath, RadioHead, Deep purple, Rush.
The Beatles has a huge impact for rock band after them..
Led Zeppelin is the most successful British Invasion 2 and they're musicality absolutely greatest of all time..
Pretty disrespectful to the creators of Rock and Roll. He didn't even mention Chuck Berry or Little Richard. I'm a Beatles fan, but it's pretty annoying when people act like they're the be all and end all.
Zeppelin, Beatles, Sabbath/Ozzy
1. Pink Floyd
2. Led Zeppelin
3. Beatles
Howard still hit the post on jumping jack flash. Truly a radio guy no matter how much he makes
1. The beatles
2. Queen
3. Led Zeppelin
My opinion ✨
Cream belongs in the conversation for top 3 bands in my OPINION.
Beatles/Rolling Stones/Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin/Queen
Led Zeppelin the greatest in my opinion.
Beatles, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd.
Based on multiple metrics not by own taste.
All these bands were huge, large output, influential, great recording and studio techniques, good musicians. Far out songs and mainstream hits. Etc
Led Zepplin
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Ok when he compared Rush to a “plain hamburger” that crossed the line. Rush made the most sound and kicked the most ass with one less member than most bands. Love them or hate them, you can’t deny they are the Beethoven of rock.
1:03 first of all, they realesed 13 albums, and u choose zeppelin as nr1. they made even fewer albums than beatles, haha. and he is a music teacher. wtf????
Great wisdom 👏
All uk bands
Top 3 ? Got to be Top 4 which is
Beatles
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones
The doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin
Beatles, Zeppelin and then Stones or Pink Floyd for me
I don't disagree with his picks. The Who and Pink Floyd are right there too. But to say fuck Elvis is just wrong.
Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and Black Sabbath for me.
All of these bands really hold up. I'd like to hear his top noine desert island bands.
Sucks that queen is considered overrated but I understand 😔
safe to say when it comes to bands, Britain are the goats
The beatles
Led Zeppelin is the all time greatest, any genre. Beatles is a close #2, and I’m gonna put queen at #3. A lot of bands could be at #3, but queens live performances definitely put them over the others.
The caller is definitely on the spectrum.
Grateful Dead, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.
Zep, Pink Floyd, Rush my top 3
Street fighting man 👌 And Zepplin im glad you put them in...👍
The doors, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles
Id add Pink Floyd as well making it an all British top 4
We can argue the rest of a top 10...
favorite
Beatles led zeppelin Oasis
Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin. Absolutely correct.
omg...Howard you just totally nailed it!!!! i am 70...those bands are the music of my life....EVERYTHING just changed musically after these bands brought the very best and most original sounds to all of us...my first concert was the Beatles ( i totally own "best first concert" trivia)...it changed my life...and your completely insightful description of Rush as a burger with no condiments is one of the most accurate analogies ever...thank you again for being the KIng of All Media...and the best interviewer out there
1) The Beatles
2) The Who
3) Led Zeppelin
4) Pink Floyd
5) The Doors
Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rush.
Zeppelin, Beatles, and The Who are all better than the Stones.
Beatles, Rush, Led Zeppelin
Kyle knows.
Hard to argue with the 3 Howard gave, others that deserve mention: The Beach Boys, The Who, Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd. It's very hard to put any band that debuted after 1980 up there, not because there haven't been great bands. It's just hard to compete with the impact that the pioneering bands from the 60s/70s had, they had the advantage of being there first and setting the tone
