Nice honest review. Presented well, no nonsense, just the facts. Thanks!!
just bought 1 pair of tx208 and have to say they are clear, hard and punchy, unbelievable for such a price, highly recommended
I dj a "Ladies Night" at a small bar/restaurant playing mellow music and some Motown and I use these and when eq'd right they are amazing. I also use them as floor monitors for my one man show. Also I even use them for small karaoke shows. Great speakers. Alto is really making great stuff for the price point
Just bought one yesterday and I must say, the speaker really sounds crystal clear and has a punch for an 8 inch speaker. Can probably fill an event with around 50-100 people. Will buy another one next month :)
Hi @matthew
Its been 6 months since you posted. I just wanted to ask if this can be a good/loud enough stage monitor speaker for the singer?
Audience is around 50 to a 100 but i am mainly concerned with it as a stage monitor.
Thanks
@@OswaldPH never tried it as a stage monitor as I only use it inside our living room. but I'm pretty sure its power is enough as a stage monitor.
@@matthew1537 sorry, i only read the first line of your response.
Thanks for the quick reply. :)
are the bass good?
@@taleoXX nope. you would need a subwoofer for that. or get the ts308 if you want a more bassier speaker.
I like this guy - he gives a good demonstration which I appreciate! Great job and to the point - very objective!
Thank you.
Helpful review. Thanks very much
These are great for a basement karaoke system. I got two used one for $89 each. It's loud enough to make your voice shine and it keep the neighbors from complaining about the sounds.
That speaker is perfekt for my room
Thanks for the review. What is the frequency range of the mic you are using for the sound test? There doesn't seem to be very low bass extension?
Thanks again for your videos. I have a pair of tx210. Do you think tx212 are enough louder to buy them or really there's an insignifficant difference of power and it's not worth while?
I use a pair of these as monitors for my solo Gospel appearances. They’re great!
Nice honest review, but really can't take any audio manufacturer seriously when they quote peak power! Definitely a consumer grade product when they do that ;-)
What do you recommend for home use, two alto tx210, or one ts210? Or even maybe one mackie thump 12a?
Awesome beat
I'm assuming I can paly my electronic drums thru this and play ? Any advice please let me know. Thanks
Thank you sir 😊
I am planning to buy 2 300watt speakers...
Please suggest?
Gemini AS-10togo or alto tx210
Hi. Great video. Thanks for making it. I own 2 Yorkville CX80P speakers. I'm looking for 2 more that are comparable. Do you think these will do? I would get another set of Yorkvilles, but I won't be using them very often and they are price. Looking for a budget friendly alternative. Thanks kindly. Btw... do you have a retail store?
They definitely will not compact to the yorkville ones you have at all but they will assist you and help out especially for the price and you can even try changing out the woofers in them and put in stronger ones that should help it sound a lot better!
Do you have speakers with Bluetooth capability same brand on a budget?
Hello. Do you think one of these would be suitable for on onstage electric guitar monitor? I am playing through a preamp / cab sim and going direct in, but I need something for my stage volume. Something loud and powerful enough to be heard over drums and bass, without distorting. Thank you.
Thks.
you think the 10 inch version would be loud enough to jam with a guitarist in a metal setting? (im a bassist btw)
Had a pair of TS310s. Used it for home jamming with keyboard/bass/electric guitar.
Too loud. Even at 25% they were too loud. Switched to just 1 speaker at up to 25% still too loud. So I sold em. Looking to buy a pair of TX208s shortly.
Update on the quality?
Would this or the new tx308 work well as an extension wedge for a Gemini es210blu?
Can I use this and the tx208? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 just Want to make some noise at the garage
Can you use this as a main speaker for a live band?
what cable did you use?
Suitable for home dj monitor use? Is there decent base... but not so much that it shakes the walls? Dont want the neighbours too upset😄👍
what did you use to connect it to your phone ?
Ok I see found my answer, set up as two individual speakers OK thanx getting a second, small garage one man band set up
Are these Alto TX208 significant less powerful and loud than the TX308?
can you provide some comments on ALTO TX312. I need a stage monitor for an average volume band. Trying to decide between this and a Turbosound M10. Help?
Hi.. Sir.. How much people we can cover in this speaker.. in big one room...?
Hi Rob, what about using 2 of these for a wedding cocktail?
Would you recommend these being used as side fills for a wedding (Chuppah) Ceremony for like when a Cantor sings accompanied by a keyboard player?
I would
Do you think this would be good for solo restaurant/pub gigs? I would be putting a mic, electric guitar, and synth through a small mixing table, then into this
Perfect ! I use two for a restaurant that has 100 people and it’s plenty loud and clean. I use backing tracks, guitar and vocal and this speaker shines. Also the high mid sound of the speaker is very suitable for the vocal. I think you will like it!
Do you think it will sound good with my Line 6 effects modeller for Home practice?
It would sound great for that.
Can you do a review of a Edison Professional st 3000
Would this be louder than the trouper
When doing the sound test, you seemed to plug the phone straight into the xlr input on the speaker - what type of cable did you have to use for this?
3.5mm to XLR Cable
I would love to buy this just concerned it won't have enough power. Can anyone help?
can this "reproduce" a live sound in the context of listening to jazz and have "Stage Presence"?
Maximus Heronimus yes, they have a nice sound and make most thing sound like there live. But don’t expect much bass.
amazing sound for the price
Yes it is' and now there is a New one the TX308
Which would you prefer to use in a small 5-8 person medium-sized living room for singing karaoke in front of a TV screen?, a pair of TX208 with the advantage of a stereo L/R placement thus a wider coverage; or a single Trouper in the middle, sideways above the TV screen? In terms of clarity
I personally own 2 Troupers and can tell you that the clarity on them is amazing! They where designed for singing. I've never heard these speakers but I'm sure they sound good. But I'm sure you would be better off with the Trouper. You can check out my reviews on them. Just click on my name and it will lead you to my channel.
Just ordered one as a DJ monitor to pair with 2x 12" Mackie Thumps and a 10"x2 sub, will let you know how it goes
Looking to get 2 of these for house events, Do you recon they'd be decent?
@@spudnikda I sold my TX, the sound quality is ok for events, but would drive me nuts at home
@@AcidRP Drive you nuts as in? It wasnt good enough? Im just looking for some large sounding speakers to mix and have events with.
@@spudnikda the quality is ok, but easily the worst sounding PA speaker I ever heard, much worse than even the low end beinger. But its not horrible, just not "hifi"
So, a constant green light in the signal LED indicator is no problem on these models???? I have avoided turning them way up because I am not sure if I am going to incur damage to the speakers.
Green light going on is OK, you're looking for distortion in the sound then you're too loud.
Green is good red is bad turn it down
Can i stag two of tx208
Do they have enough bass for a disco? It sounds quite ‘tinny’ on the video
No. I recommend a small 12" sub.
Outstanding speaker . Check out my outdoor demo of 2 ea. TX208 paired with 2ea. TX212 S Subwoofers. This setup sounds awesome, in my opinion.
Hello Papa, I reply to your Question in my latest Q&A Video here is the link ruclips.net/video/8Dg8A7jf7nY/видео.html
How long does the battery last, looking for a good portable speaker
Chelay Mignon these don’t have a battery, for battery powered I would look at the Mackie freeplay or Samson expedition systems.
I got a TS308... your right... really stupidly insanely loud, I used it at karaoke, crowd was looking for another speaker ...they never believe its the only pair of speaker i was playing with
how do they sound compared to hi-fi speakers?
What size you recommend for my party's house ?? 8 or 10
Why do people keep those stickers on the speaker?
db ES 503 review please
I think it would be perfect if it has sub woofers.
Does the TS308 actually sound better or are you just paying for more volume? I presume that if you're using it with a Sub then more power is not so much of an issue (?)
TX vs TS - the TS3 does have more clarity, Volume and Low-end response. and if you run a subwoofer bigger then 8" the TX208 will fall short.
@@expertisland Is that like the rule of thumb? If I look at a 2.1 system like "LD Systems Dave 15 G3" it has 15" subwoofer with only two 150W (peak?) satellite speakers, how does that work out?
@@Rick-zw7zv When you look at manufactured sets they can do All kinds of thing because it was built to be a set.
@@expertisland Thanks for your reply, as the TX208 is too light, do you think the Alto TX210 is a good fit to put on top of a Behringer B1200D-PRO (500W) subwoofer? Anything louder just seems wasted on those subs. Anything else you can recommend as satellite speaker?
@@Rick-zw7zv I would look at the TX212 twice the power better for you sub.
Hey all, i need a dj monitor and am torn between the tx208 and the 212. Money is not an issue but I want it to be loud as hell and small as hell. I am worried that the 208 won’t be loud enough however i am also worried that the 212 is too big for this use... any comments or suggestions??
Have a look at the TS310 or TS308 be warned they are so loud with great bottom end they can shake right of the Table.
here ate the video links TS310 ruclips.net/video/rVmaN73Hii4/видео.html - and the TS308 ruclips.net/video/uIefeEogBe8/видео.html
The monitor is better on 12 "dynamics optimal readability and mid bass.
I would look at QSC or rcf for loud as hell monitors
Can I use this for my TV? Instead of buying those expensive soundbars like JBL and stuff that way when I have a gig I can just carry this around..
I guess??? But a soundbar would work much better with your tv..just like this would sound better than your sound bar at a gig.
Would two of these be good enough for a dj doing bookings house parties etc
No have a look at the TX212 as your starting point for size and power
@@expertisland thanks for replying I have ordered two tx310s hopefully they’re okay
I'm still tripping out someone would want to leave the display sticker on any thing.
I leave the stickers on for a week, if I change my mind and want to return the speaker some stores won’t let you return if you take the sticker off.
.... he’s selling it lol
Is it active one ?
Yes
I'm a drummer can I use it as a monitor in my church?
Late to the party...but yes. Just don't expect to feel any bass. Itll reproduce the punch fine, but will fall short on reproduction of low end.
Likely enough to monitor just fine.
Hello
The village idiot hear.
I have one coming I want a second what cable do I need to connect the two, also I assume I use same cable I ordered to connect one to my mixer another one of those? the xlr connect thing is to connect 2 can not find info please, new to powered monitors thanx love your work
Normally you want to plug your first 2 speakers directly to the Mix if you can, so buying the same cable you did the first time would be best.
Question how's the bass response for a 8in speakers
8 inches?? Don't think so.
No equalizer is simply unacceptable. Sound can be good though. But still...Almost all PAs have EQ.
Tom Hanks
What size venue would you use this in?
Venue size is small maybe for you and 5 people in a room. better for talk or as a monitor. note 150w on an 8" just does not carry very far. You might want to look at the TS308 6x louder. better for a cafe type of setup or the Alto Trouper if you sing and play guitar.
expert island Thanks for the details Robin. I’m looking at house gigs and maybe a bit larger for me and my loopers (guitars, bass, keys and drum machine). . Would a pair be better? Or 300w and 12” speakers be more suited? I was really attracted to the price of these!
How about the TX212?
@@noi5emaker Better choice, you now have the right size and you have twice the Power the TX 212 is a great place to start try getting two to fill the space, or look at the TS310 for better sound quality and work your way up to two.
Would the TX210 fill better than the 208s, particularly if I have a pair? Just looking at options... It would probably be a toss up between the 212 and 210, depending on if I can get them in a pair with stands.
Yo will it be good if I get this and then a sub
By hard i mean loud
This speaker is TERRIBLE it blew with no sound really at all. I was playing a simple youtube vid and it blew.
They Come with warranty and the person who sold it to you hopefully gave you a demo on it and showed the best way to run it. We have not had one needing service yet. Try upgrading it to a speaker with more than 150w RMS Like the TX212 (twice the Power) or better yet the *TS310* (with *6x the power* of the TX208) *Good Luck with that, and thanks for the comment*.
