FYI - The Alto Pro TS308 and TS312 are what can now be purchased as rebadged as Headrush FRFR 108 and 112 for the same price. Not sure if that helps anyone but they are actually identical units and if one is unavailable the other will work exactly as expected. Great quality budget PA speakers.

Are you sure both brands are the same thing?

@@empireentertainmentevents1353I know for a fact that the Alesis Strike 12 powered speaker is the same unit as the Alto TS312. I wouldn’t be surprised if Alto also sells their products to other companies who rebrand them as their own.

Do a continuity check of the woofer with a cheap 10 dollar voltmeter. This is to make sure the wire from the connector to the vocal cord did not disconnect from the shock of drop.. You can see that if you remove the woofer or do a simple continuity check. (Ohm check.) It's just simply putting the probes on the negative and positive of the woofer. Naturally you have to disconnect the wire from the woofer connect. If the test result is positive then you know it is the board.

Thanks for posting. Was going to buy these actual speakers for stage monitors....but now I will buy a different brand that doesn't break with a drop.

A drop will break just about anything.i have some 6 thousand dollar KV2 speakers that were dropped and needed a very expensive driver replacement...

John, that was still neat to see the workmanship of the Alto. It definitely looks like some decent workmanship, and I honestly was not expecting that. I was hoping it was something minor, but the power-on pop sure points to the board. Hopefully, Alto can get you reasonable repair number.

Hello! When I first tried this monitor, when I left it on for half an hour and 45 minutes straight playng music, the back of the monitor got very hot! My question is, does it have no heatsink to lower the temperature? Strange is that the monitor only got 20 or 25% of the volume, no more than that percentage ...

Pull the woofer and see if the leads are still touching the driver. Solder breaks sometimes with drops.. bit but a real easy fix

Is there a way to make the actave speaker a passive speaker?

Yes... A two-way crossover at the correct frequency. I prefer John's idea of contacting Alto for repair options. It might be reasonable.
