Massive clues that Milim wasn't being controlled. 1. She is wayyyy to powerful to ever control with a weak sauce gem. Remember that she says that her Milim eye can see through anything in season 1. In other words she new what the gem was when she put it on. 2. Guy straight up says twice that Milim has a plan/is acting of her own volition. 3. Veldora starts saying she isn't controlled. 4. Rapheal couldn't find the spell... i.e. there wasn't one. 5. Milim repeatedly broke character when fighting. This occurred with rimuru, Veldora and carrion. Look at the amount of times she got too excited by the fight and started grinning like an idiot. 🤣 These were just the more obvious ones. There were a heap of more subtle clues too. P.s. Milim is the one and only dragonoid. (Half true dragon, half human). The dragon her dad gave her was a "friend" not a pet. You just decided it was a pet all on your own 😉
It is that it was just too obvious to be believable, so most of us were just taking all the information we were given with a grain of salt. Grinning like an idiot was a bit rude tbh :( she's just a bit eccentric and unfiltered giving her a childish vibe.
Also, before coming to destroy the animal kingdom, she gave Demon Lord Carrion and the others a warning A WHOLE ONE WEEK PRIOR. She knew Carrion enough to know that he would definitely vacate people from his kingdom first, and then decide to fight her alone.
Clayman didn’t actually beat up milim. He could literally stand there all day trying to hurt her while she doesn’t defend herself and he has a higher chance of hurting himself in the process lol. So her putting on an act wasn’t as big of a deal to her as it might seem. Milim is in a completely other dimension compared to him.
"Or is it just a convoluted story and the dragon that was her pet is really her dad?" *Well yes, but actually no LMAO* If I remember the story correctly, Milim is the daughter of a True Dragon father (Veldora's brother) and a Human mother, thus the race of "Dragonoid." Her father made a duplicate of himself and gave it to Milim as a friend. *So yes, the little dragon is in some ways both her father and her best friend. Not a pet though, that was all you guys.* When a human kingdom tried to take control/advantage of either the dragon's power or Milim's, the dragon friend was killed, sending Milim into a rage. After she wiped out the kingdom, she evolved into a True Demon Lord, her dragon friend was revived without a soul and went on a rampage. Milim defeats and seals away the dragon as her first act as a Demon Lord.
Clayman had no idea Rimuru was this powerful and as for Shion owning him, well thats down to her being a bad matchup for him (same applies to rimuru) as shes basically immune to mind control due to one of her skills (Mentioned in the LN, not in the Anime)
The reason they set him up to be the Demon Lord is because out of the 4 of them Clayman is the most level headed and rational out of all of them (likely because he's the weakest). It's not said here in the anime, but in the LN every person that knows of and about him (including some of the other Demon Lords) said that Clayman was acting VERY differently (since around the time he revived Charybdis), and out of character. Which does come into play and make more sense a LOT later (assuming the anime gets that far).
All of the clowns have different atrenghts and weaknesses. Clayman was the weakest in both power and general fighting ability, but he was very smart and cunning. Thats why he was given the role of leader/demon lord after kazalims defeat. I know he looks pathetic here, but given his available information his plans where solid, he only got outplayed cuz rimuru got raphael and people like milim and guy are so far beyond the scale, clayman cant even imagine. And theres also a another spoiler at play aswell... Also claymans power is weak only relativ to the people here. Remember the orc desaster from s1? Clayman would take him ez Oh and shion dieing and reviving gave her an op skill that basically allows her to "think" with her soul instead of her brain, which made her immune to claymans thread-thing or this would have went a lot different
Another reactor said when Clayman was laying on the floor, "Lay there in your clown juice." And now everytime I see that scene I just hear that in my head.
There are 4 Dragons and we've known of 3 of them 1) Veldora the Storm Dragon 2) Velzard (the Ice dragon who was with Guy Crimson) 3) Milim's Father (Also the older brother of Veldora)

Way I saw it, perhaps the gem works & helps when she wants to act, bc the eye change and stuff did happen, but Milim is strong enough to break out of it at will, so technically she was *never* controlled? Maybe.
The gem works in the sense that it does have magic, except that it has exactly zero effect on Milim. Milim didn't have to break out of the spell because the spell never managed to control her in the first place. Milim is powerful, incredibly so. She's among the top most powerful beings in this world. Rimuru seems OP to us, but he's only a fraction of Milim's full power.

1:59 I mean, you did know before that Millim was the child of the chaos dragon (I believe) ever since the story that made Rimuru decide to become a Demon Lord, and I do think Veldora mentioned "My brother's child" before as well. So it's more of a reminder.
Veldora said " my older brothers only child" because the story eren told rimuru about how to become a demon lord to save the dead villagers and shion were referring to milim. The images displayed as eren told the story were of a pink haired girl with pigtails. There were also a couple clues dropped in earlier episodes that make sense in hindsight. Think it was season 1 when milim wanted to join tempest that rimuru was asking milim why did she even become a demon lord and she said she couldn't remember. Either it was traumatic or she just didn't want tell rimuru the details of losing her pet Dragon revealed in erens story, then becoming a demon lord to revive it, only for its soul to come back corrupted and having to kill it again. And remember, milim herself is a dragonewt, union of Dragon and human. This was also a clue in season 2 where gabiru and sufia fought that bald guy who mentioned among the dragonewts aside from milim, he's the strongest of her followers that can actually give her a challenge. And he's also capable of attaining his Dragon form.
Nice reaction. Good call on the harlequin alliance, they're all called Death-Man. We also saw when clayman turned into that spider roach he pulled out a similar mask of his own that all those clowns wear. He was indeed the weakest as yall mentioned but they actually didn't want him to do this entire scheme. Laplace even warned him not to get ahead of himself and if he considered that he could be getting led on/ played after clayman put the necklace on milim.
Fun fact that red hair demon called guy crimson is a primordial demon exact same as Diablo, there is exactly 7 primordial demons and they’re the oldest and strongest of the demon race and guy is as strong or stronger than milim
As I understand it, Clayman either did not yet have the 10,000 human souls to ascend to "True Demon Lord" race, or he did not possess the Demon Lord Seed (ie: he doesn't have necessary foundation of strength, magicules, etc. to ascend - souls or no). So what we saw was Clayman basically 'cashing out' all his souls for a big increase of run-of-the-mill, generic power rather than those souls being used as a component of a Harvest Festival. (Albeit, said increase in power being pathetically negligible to Rimuru's (or Guy's or Milim's) eyes.) my 2 cents... enjoy the finale, ladies!
I think the thing with the animal kingdom is, well an animal kingdom lol, they are based heavily on hunting and gathering meaning the bulk they require of civilized structure is farming. So all the wealth was held at the capitol because they need it as a national treasury, and place for foreign dignitaries or traders to go. Its not so much as all the other areas are "poor" but more so its just their life style and culture. Laplace is pretty great. He's got a bad rap for being lumped in with Clayman, despite his constant warnings lol. Raphael being exasperated with Rimuru and having a temperament is so funny and I love their dynamic.

Clayman was not stronger than Carrion before his awakening. Honestly he probably wouldn't even need to use his Unique Skill to win(and if he does it's a slaughter). Carrion's "power level" so to speak at this point is actually almost on par with (fake)awakened Clayman so that would probably be a more interesting fight than regular Clayman.
