Re the primer. The tatcha primer is a silicone primer and that foundation is a water foundation. Water and oil don’t play well together. Try it with a water based primer like the toofaced hangover Rx primer. That’s a water based primer;). It looks so skin like on you. It looks great in my opinion.
I enjoy this one but I found that I have to actually rub it in with my fingers which really puts me off on it because I don't like to use my fingers when applying makeup, not even when applying eyeshadow. I also noticed with this one that it doesn't last a super long time like some of my other foundations, I would say it lasts around 5 or 6 hours and then starts to fade off kind of patchy. The only primers that I can use with this is tatcha silk canvas in conjunction with mac skin refined zone (the mac primer targeted on my t zone). I also have to set this with powder which I use the hourglass veil and I use the ambient lighting palette to buff everything as a final complexion step or the Lancome absolue smoothing powder in peche. It's a very finicky foundation and I prefer the hourglass stick over this one. If I'm just running to the store and not really caring if my foundation lasts I'll use this one especially if I'm on the go and just need something to even up. I have normal to dry skin and I don't have any acne or any kind of scarring , I do have fine lines and wrinkles though and it does seem to sink in them as time goes on. It's a very weird foundation, I must admit and not my most favorite, I have really been enjoying the vdl perfect lasting foundation, the guerlain lingerie de peau foundation, the Laura mercier flawless radiance lumiere foundation, and osmosis satin performance foundation. Its honestly a very light foundation, definitely a your skin but better kind of foundation and let's your skin come through but doesn't cover much, it reminds me of a bb cream really. I've tried it with alot of primers and the two that I mentioned were the only ones that seem to work with it and I had to work it in with my fingers. I used my philosophy anti wrinkle moisturizer under. I wish it would last longer but I couldn't get it to last longer than 6 hours and that was pushing it.
I used the little purple disc that it came with and only filled it to the line on the disc, but, maybe it's too much🤔 Great comment, I'll keep an eye on that❤❤❤
It was causing my make up to break up really bad and I realize I was using too much. Definitely give it a try 🥰 If I had your skin I wouldn’t need primer LOL

& I DEF still see the coverage at the end of day it’s just so oily looking due to the ringlight.. I’d for sure use a matter primer & finishing matte primer because the stick is SO slippery and silky , going by when I felt the texture.
I am having a love hate relationship with this foundation too. I love that it’s hydrating but I wish that it was creamier. I’m not having the coverage issue, but I do have other issues. It just doesn’t look great. I’m not certain that it looks great on my wrinkles. I thought that your makeup looked beautiful the day you had the 2nd application (from the video you had that day), but that night have been the other makeup.

What sunscreen do you wear? I’m having the hardest time with my foundation wearing well with my SPF. I have tons of mineral and none seem to be working.
I can ONLY wear the Dermalogica Age Defense Moisturizer With 50Spf. It's the only one that doesn't break me out, and doesn't affect my foundation. For years I've been buying it from the dermstore and it's like $73 for 1.7 oz. Which is crazy expensive, but, I was always willing to pay it because i would make it last me 4 mths. Well, my friend told me this beauty supply store sells the professional size 0n Ebay for $68 for 4oz. I was skeptical cause that is triple the size for less money. But, I bought it and sooooo glad I did. It's a trusted seller, and, the product is authentic. I'm so glad she told me about it. Based on my experience of it lasting only 5 hours in 30 degree weather, I don't think it will last in the summer for even a few hours. I WANTED it to work so bad. But, I just do not like this one😢😢
That's a great idea👌 I don't have a bare Minerals primer, so I wanted it to work with the primers I already have❤. But, if I did have a BM primer on hand, I totally would have tried that💋😘
Tara Lynn that’s what this stick is a version of, the Complexion Rescue Tinted moisturizer which is light coverage.....meaning the stick is also made to be sheer to light. You wouldn’t like the tinted moisturizer

I hated this foundation. I tried the hourglass primer, the too faced primer, the Cover FX gripping primer and no primer at all and no matter what it gave me no coverage and polka dot pores! I bought it early from QVC and had to pay six bucks to ship it back, but the return shipping was worth it because it was seriously on of the worst foundations I have ever tried!
Seriously, I have to agree. It's one of the worst😢 I couldn't get it to work, and I expected Medium coverage and got sheer. It's so overrated. I'm so glad you agree because I know so many who love it🤔☹
I had to keep going in to build coverage. A few stripes doesn't work for me, it's not very pigmented foundation so In order to build it to medium coverage, I had to keep putting more on. For me, I wear foundation to smooth out and somewhat cover my hyperpigmentation and texture, and this foundation claims to be medium when it's definitely a light buildable medium❤ Also it fades soooo fast, if I only put a little on, it will be gone in a 2 hours tops. 😢😢 I wanted to love it, but it didn't work for me. Oh well😘☹
Tara Lynn Maybe you couldn’t see what I saw, because remember everyone is their own worst critic, I definitely saw that you had plenty of coverage.... after you just did the first amount of a few stripes on each side, when you said you could see the texture that was after you applied more because there was too much on the skin and that’s why it was not looking smooth either that. or you need to exfoliate if you are a little dry in those areas, it was either one of those problems. I mean of course you have to be happy with the product and the results I’m just telling you what I see on my end, I feel like if you would have used a nice invisible Mattafying powder at the end it would’ve just sealed it in and also prolong the wear time did you use a setting spray at the end? and did you use a primer at the beginning? Both of those things will prolong the wear your make up , when I do weddings I always always use both with any make up that I am using. So if you did not set it that’s another reason it may have worn off because remember is a cream and creams can get slippery if your skin gets it all oily or if you have too much on. Cover FX has a great illuminating setting spray if you want that shimmer to set it with or urban decay also has excellent setting sprays , with a stick foundation you definitely need to set it or it’s going to go away.
@@michaelnewell4762 I used the Charlotte Tilbury airbrush Flawless finish, and used more of that than I normally use. And, the ring light can be deceiving, hence the reason I take it off. But, as I have reviewed so many foundations in the last year, I'm not going to force it to work. It needs to work on its own, with the primers, and the little powder I use. And if it doesn't, it doesn't. I don't feel like it held up to its claims and that's when I decide it's not for me. This one didn't have hardly any coverage, and, didn't last longer than 5 hours. I normally never set my face with any heavy powders (except for the CT powder) and I'm not going to use powders, just to make it work. I love Bare Minerals, and I love their natural makeup, but this stick doesn't give me what I need 😘 And that's ok. I am so glad it's working for other people ❤❤
Tara Lynn I was more so referring to setting sprays, you have never set your foundation with a spray at the end? Setting spray it doesn’t mean it’s supposed to force the make up to work better it just enhances the longevity of any make up of any random matter how good or bad someone might think it is it’s going to make it wear longer and that’s a fact, how do you think brides get their make up to last for 12 hour days? By using setting spray and primer otherwise with all of the festivities in the reception no foundation will hold up. I always use it on brides. I’m willing to bet that you would get more than five hours if you use a setting spray I wasn’t talking as much about powder as I was the importance of using a primer because it gives the make up something to adhere to and the Setting spray will lock it in it’s just like say you use gel in your hair you can’t expect the gel to perform all on its own so then you add a little hairspray to finish your hair, just to use an analogy it doesn’t mean you’re trying to force one product to work better than another. Anyway we can agree to disagree but you did use way too much product I never seen anyone put on so much stick foundation in my life, I see somebody below said something very similar about that. I noticed with your other Foundations you go heavy as well all right I see the discoloration and the fine lines but you don’t need a ton because they aren’t deep yet... Anyhow it’s ultimately your decision I’m just saying as an outsider looking in that, plus I have 15 years of experience you are using way too much product. Maybe you need to switch of your skin care routine so that you wouldn’t have the discoloration that is making you so uncomfortable to over use products
@@michaelnewell4762 I have several setting sprays and I think this one I used the Morphe mist. I use it every day.. As far as the skin care, i have been using Obagi Nuderm for 6 years, if you could see how far I have come from hyperpigmentation, and adult acne (which I've created a video discussing it). I have texture, why bother wearing foundation if it's not going to cover up those issues. We all apply makeup differently, and there is no right and wrong way to apply it. I have my way, and you have yours. I'm ending this here just because going on and on about this isn't going to change the fact it didn't work. I'm sorry you see my way as the wrong way, I see it as makeup and it washes off😘 Have a blessed day❤❤❤

primers are a gimmick...you should try it without a primer. I spoke too soon!
The last day i wore it without a primer and it was the worst day of the bunch 😢😢
I hated this foundation. I tried the hourglass primer, the too faced primer, the Cover FX gripping primer and no primer at all and no matter what it gave me no coverage and polka dot pores! I bought it early from QVC and had to pay six bucks to ship it back, but the return shipping was worth it because it was seriously on of the worst foundations I have ever tried!
Seriously, I have to agree. It's one of the worst😢 I couldn't get it to work, and I expected Medium coverage and got sheer. It's so overrated. I'm so glad you agree because I know so many who love it🤔☹
Maybe if you put less on? I feel like you used a lot esp for a stick! They can be tricky. Just imo
I had to keep going in to build coverage. A few stripes doesn't work for me, it's not very pigmented foundation so In order to build it to medium coverage, I had to keep putting more on. For me, I wear foundation to smooth out and somewhat cover my hyperpigmentation and texture, and this foundation claims to be medium when it's definitely a light buildable medium❤ Also it fades soooo fast, if I only put a little on, it will be gone in a 2 hours tops. 😢😢 I wanted to love it, but it didn't work for me. Oh well😘☹

I definitely saw that you had plenty of coverage....
after you just did the first amount of a few stripes on each side, when you said you could see the texture that was after you applied more because there was too much on the skin and that’s why it was not looking smooth either that.
or you need to exfoliate if you are a little dry in those areas, it was either one of those problems.
I mean of course you have to be happy with the product and the results I’m just telling you what I see on my end,
I feel like if you would have used a nice invisible Mattafying powder at the end it would’ve just sealed it in and
also prolong the wear time
did you use a setting spray at the end? and did you use a primer at the beginning?
Both of those things will prolong the wear your make up ,
when I do weddings I always always use both with any make up that I am using.
So if you did not set it that’s another reason it may have worn off because remember is a cream and creams can get slippery if your skin gets it all oily or if you have too much on.
Cover FX has a great illuminating setting spray if you want that shimmer to set it with or urban decay also has excellent setting sprays
, with a stick foundation you definitely need to set it or it’s going to go away.
@@michaelnewell4762 I used the Charlotte Tilbury airbrush Flawless finish, and used more of that than I normally use. And, the ring light can be deceiving, hence the reason I take it off. But, as I have reviewed so many foundations in the last year, I'm not going to force it to work. It needs to work on its own, with the primers, and the little powder I use. And if it doesn't, it doesn't. I don't feel like it held up to its claims and that's when I decide it's not for me. This one didn't have hardly any coverage, and, didn't last longer than 5 hours. I normally never set my face with any heavy powders (except for the CT powder) and I'm not going to use powders, just to make it work. I love Bare Minerals, and I love their natural makeup, but this stick doesn't give me what I need 😘 And that's ok. I am so glad it's working for other people ❤❤
Tara Lynn I was more so referring to setting sprays, you have never set your foundation with a spray at the end?
Setting spray it doesn’t mean it’s supposed to force the make up to work better
it just enhances the longevity of any make up of any random matter how good or bad someone might think it is it’s going to make it wear longer and that’s a fact, how do you think brides get their make up to last for 12 hour days?
By using setting spray and primer otherwise with all of the festivities in the reception no foundation will hold up. I always use it on brides.
I’m willing to bet that you would get more than five hours if you use a setting spray I wasn’t talking as much about powder as I was the importance of using a primer because it gives the make up something to adhere to and the Setting spray will lock it in it’s just like say you use gel in your hair you can’t expect the gel to perform all on its own so then you add a little hairspray to finish your hair, just to use an analogy it doesn’t mean you’re trying to force one product to work better than another.
Anyway we can agree to disagree but you did use way too much product
I never seen anyone put on so much stick foundation in my life, I see somebody below said something very similar about that. I noticed with your other Foundations you go heavy as well all right
I see the discoloration and the fine lines but you don’t need a ton because they aren’t deep yet...
Anyhow it’s ultimately your decision I’m just saying as an outsider looking in that, plus I have 15 years of experience you are using way too much product. Maybe you need to switch of your skin care routine so that you wouldn’t have the discoloration that is making you so uncomfortable to over use products
@@michaelnewell4762 I have several setting sprays and I think this one I used the Morphe mist. I use it every day.. As far as the skin care, i have been using Obagi Nuderm for 6 years, if you could see how far I have come from hyperpigmentation, and adult acne (which I've created a video discussing it). I have texture, why bother wearing foundation if it's not going to cover up those issues. We all apply makeup differently, and there is no right and wrong way to apply it. I have my way, and you have yours. I'm ending this here just because going on and on about this isn't going to change the fact it didn't work. I'm sorry you see my way as the wrong way, I see it as makeup and it washes off😘 Have a blessed day❤❤❤
