I’ve been a Bobbi Brown die hard for years! I love the stick, and it has been my everyday foundation for over two years. I just bought the Tom Ford stick this week, and am enjoying it.
I haven’t had the Tom Ford long enough to comment, but so far so good.
I have combo skin, and enjoy a natural to glowing finish. I always powder my foundation for longevity, especially because I’m combo.
I would recommend either!

Hi Mandy, I thought all those foundations looked pretty on you. You have a beautiful complexion. I am partial to the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick because that is the one I wear all the time. I have had oily skin all my life and now that I am older (63)my skin is still oily, just not as oily. I thought the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick looked beautiful on you and so did the Tom Ford Foundation Stick. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this review. They all looked great on you! I got the bare minerals after your initial review of that stick foundation and have really liked it. I have oily/combo skin so by the end of the day it doesn’t look as great on my skin, but then again pretty much ALL foundations start wearing off by the end of the day given my skin type. It’s so quick to apply and the finish is perfect imo 👌🏻I’d like to sample the Tom Ford since it seems like it might be a less dewy option :)

I agree with kim f, every product you use looks beautiful on you. I know it's not technically a stick foundation but I did love the Kjaer Weis foundation on you. So much so that of course I ordered it and CANNOT wait until it arrives. I know that you said it did remind you of the Tom Ford stick foundation so I think I'll hold off trying that one until I see how the KW works on my skin. Thanks for all your videos!!! P.S. I just got my beautycounter haul a few days ago and am loving the tint skin and dew skin! :)

Love these chats we have about foundation. I like them all on you, especially the Westman Atelier (lol, mostly because I think that shade might be nice for ME). LOL, I agree it is a blessing that everyone is different, although I wish people were better at choosing words more wisely and thinking about how they would feel and react if they were told some of the stuff they say online to others.

I so respect your opinions- especially on foundation. I have the Tom Ford and Bare Minerals and rank them as you did. I have samples of the Westman Atelier and just haven’t been able to purchase. I love it some days but it is awful if I have any flakey areas and it’s just finicky. I’m concerned that I wouldn’t use it because of the uncertainty. I do have the Kjaer Weis and I absolutely love it. It’s up there with the Tom Ford.

Well fabulous. Now I have to figure out which color I need in the Tom Ford... I know I need Buttercream in the Bare Minerals, but the color descriptions aren’t great for the Tom Ford. I’ve been wanting a stick and if you love it, I’ll love it.

I think they all look really beautiful on your skin, but I can see why you love the Tom Ford. I got a sample of the Westman Atelier foundation and fell in love so decided to splurge and buy the full size. I have found it to work better over certain primers, but annoyingly a bit hit or miss. The other day I wore it over the colorescience bronzing primer and the By Terry cc serum (two of my favourite products), and it was awful. It showed every pore and texture on my skin. Some days it blends well, other days it takes forever. I like it over the Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter and the Tatcha silk canvas. I prefer applying it onto a brush like the Charlotte Tilbury double sided brush and then buffing it into my skin. I also like applying it to my finger and dabbing it over redness. It’s better than the Hourglass vanish stick foundation. Thanks for your review - excellent info as always. 🥰
I have to agree...it's very hit or miss, which is frustrating when I have so many foundations that work over any primer. I'll have to try it over the Flawless Filter. Thanks so much Cathy!
Mandy Davis MUA I tried it today over the Tatcha silk canvas with the it cosmetics complexion brush and it was better. I mostly have an issue over my chin area where I have texture and stick foundations tend to break up and accentuate the texture and lines. Maybe I should just stick with liquids and powder foundations. 😊 Maybe the products I ordered from Osmosis and Truth Treatments will help with my texture...hopefully 🤞🏻🤗
I honestly can only see a slight difference between the Bare Minerals and the TF, with the TF looking the most radiant. You definitely can wear anything on your skin; it’s just so perfectly flawless. I also can’t stop admiring your gorgeous eye makeup (as usual lol). 💙💙

Thanks Kay! I copied a response to Kim's comment to post here that may help! kim f I have mature skin too Kim - use the Tom Ford stick foundation for many of the same reasons that Mandy spoke about. I find it emollient but definitely not greasy, long lasting and does not settle into fine lines or get cakey throughout the day - no oxidation - color stays the same. It is so easy to travel with - one of my favorite foundations (the other is also Tom Ford - Traceless Perfecting Foundation)
I love your notes idea, I too love foundation and forget what 😊primer I used with what foundation with what powder with what setting spray, so if I have a good makeup day I can't seem to remember why 🤷♀️
I just ordered the BM original complexion rescue and hope it lives up to the hype! If it does you know I’m buying the stick formula!! New to your channel and I love it due to your taste in glowy beautiful skin and foundation! Maybe you can do a spf 🧴 video for some that are tinted and non for on their own or under makeup. Spf is becoming so popular thank goodness!!!

I do! I’m Bisque right now and wanted darker for summer but the colors are odd. Next 2 shades up are def a different tone. Your shade wasn’t available to test. Online it looks like it would be too dark, but better tone. On you it looks fine, even when you’re not tan. First world problems 🤔
I had an idea so many of us want you to do a top 5 series again. I was thinking this time you could add a twist. 5 plus 2. You could select 2 that you recommend highly for mature skin. The 2 could come from the top 5 or be in addition to them if none of your top 5 are your ideals for mature.

I love the Bare Minerals. I have the two lightest shades. I have to use my hands to warm it up. I have the driest skin ever so it's hard to get foundations to mesh with my skin. The Bare Minerals is one of the few that look good all day.

think they all looked great on you and I'm not just saying that...I happen to use BM because they were my first clean product I tried years ago. Have want to try the TF so now I will after seeing this. I want to try a stick to travel with and there aren't enough color choices in the WA yet. I heard more are going to come out soon if not already.

Interesting. The Westman Atelier foundation gives me natural glow, while the Bobbi Brown you mention makes my skin extremely oily and give me breakouts.

Alex, same. I love the the WA as well. I must admit though I am of a "certain age". BB breaks up on me, and I do not have oily skin except around the nose. I like how the WA feels on the skin.
That bare minerals stick seems to be very divisive people either think it's really good or they hate it. It makes me want to try it. ☺ I think they all looked really nice on you. I feel like you could probably make anything look really nice.

Here I am a few years later, trying to find a new holy grail since it appears the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick has been discontinued. 😢😢😢 I had tried many dozens of foundations over several years, trying to find one that would give me the true medium-to-full coverage I wanted, could hold up to my oily skin (made even more challenging by my warm/humid climate in the summer), and looked natural/skin-like. And that Tom Ford foundation got an A+ in every category, was miles and away the best foundation I’ve ever tried, and actually was less expensive than many other foundations when taking into account the huge amount of product per stick. I remember one particular time when a waitress told me, “OMG, your skin is literally perfect,” while dining outside in the summer, and I had a few hormonal blemishes at the time. I said, “It really isn’t even close to perfect, it’s just amazing foundation. But thank you!” 😅 I’m heartbroken at the loss, and so stressed that it looks like it’s back to the drawing board trying to find another foundation that even comes remotely close to the performance of the Tom Ford. 😔

I love the TF, it's your favorite for a reason. I'm not into luminosity for myself so I'd go for the Bobbi Brown in position #2. On you it looks wonderful so I can see why you chose the Bare Minerals. I'm tempted to give it a try, it's very reasonably priced and I'm not sure why I didn't know that. Anyway, great vid, thanks!

I LOVE stick foundations but I have found it tricky to find ones I like. My dislike pile is way bigger than my likes pile LOL I thought every one of your picks looked gorgeous and I don't think I can pick a favorite. My favorites on my very dry mature skin are the Tom Ford, Bare Minerals, MUFE although I had trouble finding the correct shade, and Westman Atelier though it is very stiff. It has been years since I tried the Bobbi Brown which I found looked really greasy after a few hours but I probably didn't set it. I may try that one again since I can get it for 20% off. Dang I promised myself I wouldn't buy any foundations during the sale. I may break that promise on the first day of the sale LOL Great video!
Bahahaha....I shouldn't have gotten a foundation either, but I got one and then paid full price at Nordstrom for the new Tom Ford one LOL
@@MandyDavisMUA I must tattle tale on myself. I got a different color TF stick (@ 20% off) because the one I have is a bit light and looks a tad strange right now but then turned around and bought the Giorgio Armani Power Fabric balm in a compact thing and paid full price. I'm on the fence about the TF new cushion. Hope you do a review on it. Did you also get the glow pink or whatever the other color is?

Honest to God they all look flawless on you. I finally purchased the Tom Ford recently and it is AMAZING. It is totally worth the money. My only issue is the lightest shade is still a little dark for me so I feel a bit self-conscious about that when I wear it.
I was at a store recently that carried the Tom Ford product line, and had a chance to look at the foundation stick shades. Their shade range for fair skin is not very good. I have fair skin (warm undertone), and the only shade suitable was, "Porcelain," and it was sold out! Although it was a close match, I did feel like it was just a bit too light for me. The next shade up was "Ivory," and it was a little too pink and too dark. Did you get the Porcelain shade?? You must be VERY fair if it was too dark for you! I guess there's a reason the lightest shade was sold out. They only seem to have one fair shade, but, unfortunately, it doesn't suit all. I hope TF expands the shade range at some point. It is definitely a foundation I would be interested in trying.
Michelle Kelly Yes, I got Porcelain. It is pretty close but I can still see a line where it stops. It wouldn’t be a big deal except I hate staining my clothes so I’m not a huge fan of putting a ton of color down my neck. What I’ve done is put some lighter concealer on top in certain areas like the jawline but that kind of ruins the finish. Even so I will continue to buy it because it really is that good. It’s the only one I’ve found recently that doesn’t enhance my texture and dryness.
I am so happy you love it, but I am sorry that you didn't find a good shade. I will say that luxury brands need a LOT of work in their shade ranges for sure. I can only hope they end up extending the line. :(
Mandy Davis MUA After I wrote this it come to me that I could try a little bit of self-tan (duh). Had a sample lying around and it does make a difference. Except the rest of me is still pale. 😂 I’m horrible at self-tanner on my body.
@@MandyDavisMUA I wanted to leave an update on the shade range. I was at a Nordstrom recently, and I asked the sales rep at the Tom Ford counter to show me the lightest shades. She pulled out Porcelain and Cream. Cream ended up being PERFECT!! It's a fair/warm ivory shade. At the other store I visited, they showed me Porcelain and another shade which was too dark. The rep at that store told me Porcelain was the closest match to my skin tone, even though I thought it was a bit too light. Everything else she showed me was too dark!! Obviously, she wasn't very familiar with the shade range because I did find my perfect shade!! I'm so glad I had a chance to go to Nordstrom, otherwise, I wouldn't have known. I'm so happy to have found a shade that matches perfectly! : )
Hey! I don’t own any of them besides the westman A foundation sticks. I have shade 1 and 7 and I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! Such a shame you didn’t get the same experience, though just something I picked up from Gucci westman herself, she gets the brush and swipes it on the stick and then puts it on the skin. Ok I thought to myself nah what’s the difference it’ll be the same things as just swiping it all over my face and buffing it in - IT ISNT please please please try applying it with dipping your brush on the stick first and then buffing it into your skin, I promise you will see such a difference 😊😊 thanks for this review I’m a huge fan of bare minerals so id love to get my hands on that foundation stick now too!

No matter which foundation you use, you always look gorgeous! If you had to choose just one foundation from all of the foundations that you've tried, which one would you choose for dry, mature skin? Also that is easy to apply.
kim f I have mature skin too Kim - use the Tom Ford stick foundation for many of the same reasons that Mandy spoke about. I find it emollient but definitely not greasy, long lasting and does not settle into fine lines or get cakey throughout the day - no oxidation - color stays the same. It is so easy to travel with - one of my favorite foundations (the other is also Tom Ford - Traceless Perfecting Foundation)
Ann Doucette Thank you for the response. Mandy talks about the Osmosis foundation as being one of her favorites so I was kind of curious as to which one she would choose. Do you use a primer or setting powder with it? Thanks again!
kim f I don’t use primer consistently, when I do it’s usually the Tom Ford Illuminating Primer. I do use setting powder, very lightly - either the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Brightening Mosture Powder or Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish - both in compact form. I tried the Osmosis but it’s not a favorite - more the color selection and match than the formulation.
Ann Doucette Do you still have that luminous glow when using the setting powder or do you only set on certain areas? When you don’t use a primer, what do you use right before applying your makeup?Also, if you use a concealer for under the eyes, what is your favorite? I really appreciate your help! Thank you!
kim f I do - I also use mists to ensure that the finish is not powdery - I use Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator - or Jordan Samuel facial mist - love them both. My skin is dry, fair complexion and mature.
I think they all looked fantastic on you! How do they feel on your skin? They don't look heavy on your skin but I envision they would feel heavy. I like that you say they are great for travel that would then get me to thinking of that as their main use but also realize I have to play with things at home before I travel with them.

I really like the Bobbi Brown stick but I have the wrong shade and look like a carrot, LOL! I need to wait for a sale and try it in neutral porcelain. Have you seen the new Pur foundation that includes a doe-foot for concealing? I'd love to see your thoughts on it but I'm highly annoyed that Ulta is only carrying some of the shades and not even each undertone...

I do have a fitbit. I actually really like it. It helps track the things I care alot about like exercise and sleep. LOL And I like that I can see text messages and calls when I am working and don't have my phone on me. :)
