The reason for the delay is censorship. They keep finding more.
What the company doesn't realize is that if they release the game the player numbers will go up and they can get more feedback to see how the game actually is lol instead they think the only opinion that matters is the Japanese players

You should make videos about the game so far and its evolution in Japan I feel like that would be a good way to keep hype or build it back up for some players. Chapter 6 is coming out in 2 days man and it's going to be a huge update for the game.

Honestly, I think there's still a chance it might come out in October for the International release. Since - even though that'd be Amazon competing with itself - New World has lost a lot of favor with not just players, but the publishing company. So, BamCo and Amazon might release it then assuming that - if New World is considered a lost cause at that point to them - they have a back-up plan with Blue Protocol.
OK I feel like I need clarification cuz according to this video they confirmed it's coming but I'm seeing other videos saying that the global has been canceled and seen a couple ppl on discord groups say the same thing. So what's the truth?
the studio Bandai Namco Online been in state of insolvency for years now, the latest news said they are going to declare bankruptcy and dissolve the studio, the IP might be auctioned off or get absorbed to the parent company Bandai Namco Entertainment
I play destiny 2 and honestly the approach to a lot of loot like strikes, and dungeons, can be really fun. I feel if blue protocol adds something similar, it would be well received. Given blue protocol actually has matchmaking for the more difficult content as opposed to destiny which makes it unobtainable for a lot of players.
People can hate NGS for everything it's not, but at least it seems to spend development resources within it's means, and is serving an audience unlike any other game. It's interesting seeing all the pitfalls that BP is encountering that were either circumvented early or bypassed completely for NGS. I say all this because people talk about that team like they are incompetent, but at least it's surviving while so many of its peers are either retooling, taking a hiatus, or not even being released in all regions.
I am doubting a 2024 release, I think if its coming at all, it will be first quarter 2025. Assuming of course, Bandai Namco doesn't pull the plug on it before then.

You don't wanna do November because that's usually when all the AAA type games come out like Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Etc. You won't be able to compete with those either. Like you said December is just as bad as well because of holidays and stuff. So my guess would be late January or early February if they're not gonna compete with themselves.

OK, I am going to start off saying I get everyone fed up with blue protocol, not getting a release date whatsoever for global release. I am as frustrated as you all are but this is something we have no control over and I see so many negative comments about the game because you’re all saying it’s a dead game and you’re basically hating on this guy who is trying to give us information on what he knows is going on which really we should be more thankful because with someone actually giving us news about something is better than nothing and my opinion that’s important because I’m sure there are other RUclipsrs that do give information news but y’all need to realize people that take their time out of their day to do this and still genuinely excited for the game themselvesyou need to realize how much passion and love they have for this game and you all need to realize that it’s gonna take more time for it to come out. I know it’s annoying and I know I’m probably gonna get called out for posting this but everybody needs to remember it’s not doing well in Japan just because it’s having issues in Japan doesn’t mean it will not come to the conclusion. It may not come global release. That’s not a good way thinking about it, think of time where you were waiting for a video game that you were excited for and you couldn’t wait to play it. You were just so excited that is how I feel about blue protocol because I’m still generally excited. I’m like OK since we’re here news that’s gonna be awesome. If we don’t know the release date that’s OK because I know it’s going to eventually release. Maybe we’ll see it in December. Maybe we won’t see it till next year, the important part is the patience. I know it’s not very fun thing but we can get through this.

I just dont understand what the companies are thinking... Isnt it pretty well standard these days that games will die or suffer if they dont release globally pretty much off the bat? Ive been so excited for this and trying to not keep up with anything so that everything is fresh once its out here, but its just sad to see that they couldnt release with Japan. Also if there are delays between PC and consoles, That is also going to hurt. But these seem to be facts so I still dont get it.

September: Throne and liberty
October-forever: New world
After the TL release date was announced I formed the opinion that November would be the month we see BP release. CBT In August and PBT in October. Really hope it doesn’t go to 2025, but it’s entirely plausible now.
I didn't know (or remember) it had released on consoles in Japan too.
At this point I just want the company to pick any of their major in-house IPs and get something out there soon.
They have a lot of stuff that deserves to be making waves, but won't unless something actually gets produced. Besides those games there really aren't a ton of games that register on my radar right now as far as new releases go, but there are some starting to creep in there lately.

For anyone looking for something to play similar to this, you can try wuthering waves. Yeah, it's not an MMO per se and it's a gatcha game. But, it is really fun! There's a lot to do a lot of exploration and the gameplay is actually fun. Has definitely helped me from thinking about build protocol's release date. Maybe you guys will enjoy it as well.

just an idea: Release blue protocol after wow, then take the fans of BP and have them play thrown and liberty next month. This is how I'd monopolize my releases. Give them something that is already good, then release our game we want to shine better than the game we released earlier.

lowkey yeah, ppl say say they want games then statistically dont play them when released. also it costs a lot of money to keep mmos open in general so mtx and or subscriptions would have to be a thing to generate revenue🤕
what exactly is a SAO like mmo? seen some people ask for this over the years but i'm not sure what they mean. the anime itself is kind of mediocre past episode 14 or so. besides the virtual reality gimmick, which is implossible to replicate in real life, the mmos we see in the show are quite generic. You want an endless tower mode like in the first season? or do you want to like have a game inside a game with your toon doing slice of life stuff like Persona and have the ability to play virtual reality mmos inside the game?

Instead of releasing it globally, they chose to ask people in japan only. And decide to base the fate of the game off of the opinion of just one country. They don't have a clue how well the game will do everywhere else in the world, because they just choose not to release it anywhere else and then make a bunch of BS excuses. Take a few opinions from a few players in japan, and assume that everybody else in the world feels that way about a game they haven't even got to play.

they lost a lot of momentum. i hate living in the west and be second class and waiting so long for games to come here and some not even ever come here. so sad. I was hyped for this game but just so much time waiting and no real info coming out . I am just meh about all of it now.
Think one of the issues might be the bosses you fight arent that difficult due to reload time and casting time and all. To easy to dodge maybe. Would be nice if vertical combat was involved and not just horisontal. But unsure, wont know until play myself. Though pretty sure they have been told already what they can improve to fix the issues they have
Pessimistic crowd here: I think the devs have very little control over the release date. Amazon Games does. If they closed the Discord and everything, my guess is it's not coming until at least 2025.
I know Amazon is a huge, huge company with a lot of power, but I feel like them getting their hands on so many global MMO rights is gonna end up being a hinderance in the long run. It's why I'm pessimistic about the launch being this year at this point. they need actual time to really take in all the feedback and act on it when they do their next CBT. And even then it might call for another CBT after that depending on the highlighted issues. Even if they announced it in July or August. I'm confident for a Q1 2025 release personally. Gives me time to get everything I needa get done as far as leveling in Dawntrail at least.
I know its tricky and you have advertising requirements but you PROBABLY want to diversify. This game's dead in Japan with around 1300 concurrent players (compared to even Elsword's 2200 and Anthem's 3,000, both abject failures). Bandai is going to look to bury the lead and either quietly release or quietly cancel this game and then leave it on eternal minimum life support.
In short this is not the turd you want to polish.

blue protocol is dead in japan and i don't see it doing well in the west. they can't fix it unless they completely overhaul the gameplay. combat is boring and one dimensional at its core. i wouldn't be surprised if they cancel the western release altogether, can ags even handle another flop after new world, lost ark and the expected throne and liberty failure?
Amazon is a trillion dollar company which is part of the problem. Yes, the can absolutely handle another flop and that means they have little incentive for it to come out and be successful.
I believe, like FFXIV, this game is a labour of love. It may not seem like much to us over here in the west waiting for the release. However, I believe in Bandai Namco, I believe in the love and passion they have for their world. This game will see success, I am sure of it.
