So this video took me way too long to make - I am sure it will not perform as well if I just released my first impressions on day 1. BUT... I wanted to be honest here and experience everything before I can deliver my thoughts. Hope you guys enjoy this video.
I think what hoyoverse is doing is not necessarily wanting the whole same crowd of genshin or hsr, but looking into new audiences as well that probably enjoy this type of game. I think many who enjoy genshin and hsr may find this not their type of game.
@@TheHouseInFataMorganagenshin and zzz not really similar, I can tell you never played honkai impact 3rd. Zzz takes so much mechanics from honkai impact their only difference is that zzz has a parry system HI3 doesn’t.
I know HI3 isn't as popular as Genshin or Star Rail, but it's people are straight up forgetting it exists when looking over ZZZ. It's quite obvious that if you were to choose any of HoYo's action games to compare ZZZ to it would be Honkai with the faster-paced combat, hack n' slash elements, and even the energy system since Honkai has that too.
This is starting to feel more like Honkai Impact more and more. Three man team who you switch around, perfect evasion/parry, switch combos, bangboo (elf) system, the characters are their own characters outside combat and you can increase trust with them, story stages consume energy. All of these are Honkai Impact things. Edit: guys, I'm talking about gameplay, not story.
To me it feels more like this is miHoYo's answer to Punishing: Gray Raven (and new action games that came after it, like Aether Gazer) which funnily was Kuro game's response to Honkai. Just to name an example, the 6 slot gear system is a PGR thing as opposed to the 3 slot system of Honkai. A lot of combat mechanics are more reminiscent of Gray Raven as well. A lot of early PGR came from Honkai and now we go full circle with a lot of ZZZ coming from PGR. Also, given how they are rebooting Honkai early next year, i'd not make a lot of sense for them to simultaneously develop two games that are competing for the same audience, thought from what i saw in this video, they really need to make their mind if they're going for the audience that wants challenging action combat or just casual button mashing fun. You can't please both, there's other games to go to if you're looking only for either of those.
@@sarenlover6624 Hmm i didn't really say that though, because then it would also mean i said PGR is trying to be Honkai, which is incorrect. What i meant to say is that as PGR took elements from Honkai to do its own thing, so now is ZZZ taking some stuff from it to make its own thing. In any case if this came off as an accusation of "game is copying game" then i apologize, definitely not what i meant, games have always gone forward by taking ideas from one another, there is nothing wrong with this.
I laughed so hard at 10:23 cuz the amount of story stages i had to redo in hi3rd from (good) difficulty and how it's always been this skill-needing battle system A good laugh also hard reminder how few are playing hi3rd......
Honestly, style-wise, this game has the most appeal to me; if they started doing persona level interactions I think it could perform strongly. I would buy characters if they gave extra side cutscenes that lead to anime B plot level stuff.
It seems that Genshin is designed to appeal to the broadest and widest audience, while Hsr and ZZZ are more catering to specific player niches edit: to clear confusion, I don’t think he is bashing this game solely for the reason of “not being a genshin”, but rather the fact that if hoyoverse is aiming ZZZ towards the broad appeal “genshin” road, it still needs some work to be able to do that. For it is more niche.
@@ChixiaWWThey always listen to feedback. It’s just that most feedback players give is terrible and including it would actively make their games worse.
Yeah, that! I feel like it adds so much to the games design. I love how much details Hoyo adds to the clothes and little character moves, that makes them special, but there is only so much you can do with the same body. One of the first things you learn in design is playing with shapes, and with a static body type they are holding themselves back a lot.
@xbyte00 bruh he's simply just "happy" because he's appreciating something that is visually appealing to him and refreshing from a company that reuses models/assets; why are you even thinking more into it..
their design team is top tier, reminds me of arcade games in the 90s and early 2000s. not to mention their animation is probably the best in the category. one thing to note about hoyo is they have a content problem. i feel like you can only appreciate the design to a certain extent until you feel like the game is empty.
The design looks good most of the time because they plagiarize the most successful anime and games on the market lol. Give a nod to honkai everyone praising the new update trailer till people exposed that it directly ripped scenes from multiple different anime intros 😆 "top tier design team" reality = top tier thieves. Which ironically fits great as the design in this game is indeed ripping off persona in so many ways. Mihoyo the phantom thieves 😆
@@slayerr4365this has nothing to do with persona. If you actually knew about the games development, you’d know that the aesthetic is based on the main artist, waterkuma’s work. His style has always taken influence from grungy metropolitan cities. Just because you have a surface level knowledge of art, doesn’t mean everyone else, much less professional artists should
It sounds like ZZZ is taking from Hi3's Type/Element system. Teams are usually made up of various types of damage (Biologic, Mecha, Psychic, Quantum, Imaginary, and now Stardust) but deal primarily one damage element (Physical, Lightning, Ice, and Fire). The prominent exceptions is are Trio - a team made up of three Imaginary types that each deal Fire, Lightning, and Ice damage and whose kits change when on a team together - and Herrscher of Truth - the Ice element member of Trio whose buffs to Fire and Lightning make her indispensable to teams focusing on those elements. There's also a pseudo fifth element, Bleed, for which a dedicated buffer is about to release and that layers on top of the four traditional elements. Anyway, units can have a type advantage/disadvantage against enemies while enemies can also be vulnerable or resistant to particular elements. As a result, end game challenges are easily tailored to particular units, albeit you can still do well with a dps that only partially counters the boss
Personally, I found the MC-specific town to be really helpful at selling the sort of Persona vibe that parts of the game can emphasize, and I'm a huge nerd so the puzzles/hollow/"tv mode" gameplay has generally been a pretty fun way to keep the pace of the game variable. The farm systems having such an intrusive energy cost (and hence disrupting story progress if you want to level your Agents/Bangboos/whatever-the-fuck-else) is a bit rough while still working through the story, but I find the ability to dump energy/"do my dailies" in just a few minutes to be an absolute godsend if I want to stick with the game, because every single game that's demanded more than that is something I've bounced off of in a month. Overall, I think the game's got room to grow, and this review of it was super solid, thanks!
I can’t stand the tv stuff, which is weird because I played plenty of Simulated Universe without issue. The quick dailies is a major plus, but as an Arknights fan, I need that challenging content, not brain dead button mashing.
Not being able to run around the city with characters you own is a good example of trying to make things more realistic and ignoring the fun aspect. I believe this will make many feel like you don't really own the characters you pull. It is a surprisingly weak decision by Hoyo which I didn't really expect from them after Genshin and HSR. 😮
Its funny because I am the kind of player that mostly runs around with the Traveler in Genshin so I do appreciate that to some extent. But on the other hand I always have at least 3 characters I can switch to and use for exploration in the overworld. So I do think being absolutley limited to just the Traveler would be lame. But the overworld here sounds even more limiting than Star Rails which is a shame.
Hoyo can't make another genshin clone because it will kill genshin. So they are intentionally limiting their games to not have overworlds. It's bad game design for profits
@@AlluckyTV nah at this point i doubt anything will really kill genshin besides the inevitable passing of time, if anything they probably want to do a completely different type of game so people dont choose to only play genshin if both are too similar
@@AlluckyTVhsr already pretty much kills genshin for many people, me and my brother at least. i think it's also their marketing strategy. there are those people like me whose can't just stay attached to infinite game. even with all new contents. i think hoyo knows that and they just make a shelter for us. it's like they are saying "your wallet already belong us". so even if we move to another game out of burnout, it's still within their reach. so for me, it goes from hi3 -> genshin -> hsr. i don't know what will happen when this game released. i still pretty much enjoy hsr, dunno if i'm gonna switch here. when i first play hsr, i try to keep playing genshin bcs brand new Fontaine and all. but in the end, i gave my account to a friend. so with this game too, i think i might try play both game and choose one in the end
ZZZ is definitely hoyo trying to capture newer audiences. And tbh, they already have my attention with this one, it'd be my first hoyo game when it comes out
There is a reason why spectacle fighters like this tend to have a grading system. It allows the game to be easy if you want to do the bare minimum but incredibly difficult if you want to master it. A low skill floor and sky high skill ceiling is the key to making games like Bayonetta and DMC almost infinitely replayable.
@@Rytom I have seen some gameplays of it, and I don't really recommend that because it is basically a bad honkai impact 3rd clone. Don't get me wrong, I played all dmc games (dmc 1, 3, 4, reboot, 5) but yeah, Peak of Combat could use some fixing
Yeah, I wasn't thrilled about that, but I'll give it a try when it comes out. If it sucks, well we still have DMC and platinum games to get our fix, because ZZZ is clearly not the one to scratch that itch either. @@CroakingBroking
surprisingly the best, most objective review I've seen so far. delves into what's good and bad, why it's like that, and at what point in the game you would expect it. awesome video 👍
I've heard a lot about this game and it looks to me that this is the opinion of the comunity at large. It's fun, looks incredible, it has a lot of potential, but it has a looooot of problems that need to be adresed before it opens shop, otherwise it's going to lose a lot of players really fast, specialy the boring tv puzzless, the locked story quest, and the ineficient stamina system. I've also heard concerns regarding the gacha and artifacts grind, to the point that some say this may be mihoyo's most predatory system, which is a lot, given how Honkai impact 3rd has a standar banner, a character banner, a weapon banner with both the weapon and stigma (honkai artifacts) you need for your valkyrie, another character banner with increased rate but completely independent pull count, the elf banner which would be like the bangboos of ZZZ, but a lot less relevant and the skins banner (it's not called a banner but it's basicaly a banner).
Pretty much sums up everything I've heard. They would be wise to actually make the T.V. aspect a side game to do with hacking I desperately hope they do.
Speaking from experience playing both games, it's true Honkai has a lot more banners, but in general, those characters are very easy to obtain. They give you free S ranks (5 stars) on occasion, any A rank (4 star) valkeries you can effortlessly grind out without spending a single crystal. And new character releases usually happen far enough apart from each other that you can get them I'd you save. They also have a tendency to move older valkeries to standard banner, with an increased chance to obtain a new S rank you don't already own. They also give you free standard banner pulls, like in any other hoyogame. You also only need to pull a character once, and they're more or less complete. ELF's are completely whalebait and not at all necessary. Where they DO get you, though, is on the equipment banner, which is admittedly a nightmare to deal with. However, you can almost always find something suitable that you can grind and craft. A lot of sets are also easily transferable from one character to another, as there are actual set loadouts. All things considered, I want to say HI3 is the least greedy between the Big 3 of Hoyoverse games. It does however, have the most egregious powercreep, so you are incentivised to pull for newer units if you can.
I quit Honkai shortly after the original arc ended very early this year, so i can assure you i have no need to white knight for it. That said, while all these banners you mention are a thing, you are missing two essential elements: one, there are a lot more sources of gacha currency income compared to Genshin, and two, you don't get bombarded by back to back S ranks (5 star in genshin terms) they are spaced out at every other update, with the Valkyrie in between usually being either straight up free or f2p affordable. Just imagine how happy a Genshin player would be if you told them they don't need to spend anything to get that new 4 star they like so much. Oh yeah, also, no 50/50 garbage in Honkai, you get who you pull for. I played for +3 years before quitting and i never really had an issue getting everyone i wanted, i did miss gear here and then, yes, but you definitely learn to get by and work around that. Honestly 4/4 Valks are only a need if you want to go 1 to 1 with whales and veterans (Red Lotus to Nirvana) So yeah, i thought i'd had to mention this for anyone not really familiar with it --Edit--: There's a couple replies being a bit more critical that i have been, and i guess i have to emphasize what i said was mainly based on my experience as a HI 3rd player for over 3 years, i'm aware others might have had a different, not as pleasant experience. That said, I do want to reiterate, while weapon is an important part yes, i will not deny that, full gear valks are only a real need in whale/veteran tiers. By the time i quit, even ER was clearable at max reward with substitutes if you knew how to choose your signets. Now someone else mentioned it's only a few characters who are free, i want to say that save for counted occasions the release schedule has consistently been S rank > A rank/SP > S rank etc, in simpler terms, every other character released is free/farmable, it's definitely not "some" only. Finally, there is a comparison about the cost of pulls, i will just say trying to compare the ratio of pull cost 1:1 of two different games is not a very accurate way of doing things, a better and fair comparison would be to determine number of total pulls per week from non-event regular activities, in which i'm sure Honkai is at least just there with every other game, if not a bit above.
More banners doesn't make honkai more predatory, lol. It's the most f2p friendly hoyogame. The only part that you mentioned that is actually bad is gacha stigmatas.
As with any Hoyo game, I believe we will have a very rough patch start. While Star Rail has added a lot of QoL and so has Genshin (alas not as much as SR) I believe ZZZ will do the same as Star Rail. They will test the waters with an even bigger audience and see what can they keep, what can they improve and what must they discard just like they've had before.
Yes, you are absolutely right. I find it shameful that every change has to be begged for. This shows again that the players' feedback from the other games is completely worthless to them. It seems to me as if they are narrowing the system more and more and squeezing it to the maximum. Can't someone just make a game with great characters, an exciting story, breathtaking combat, a beautiful open world and fair rewards and a talking MC?
I just hope they change the way TV mode works, maybe like SU in HSR where it's still fun, short, and straightforward while still bringing the rouge-like element into the game so we can enjoy the battle more often
I think the best way they could do TV mode is to make it so that main story content TV modes are relatively short and simple, basically not an issue for anyone, but then also have clever and fun TV mode puzzles that are 100% optional content and clearly defined from the rest, similar to Spiral Abyss.
@@Kittysune12 I think it's fine to have both, but it'd probably be a good idea to not force people who like the one thing to fully engage with the other if they don't want to.
even in HSR SU, its only fun when they introduce new stuffs, after a while people will get bored. There have been ton of conplains already about how to make Planar Ornaments set farming cost less time
i like that MC is an actual MC and since the units are in the town i totally get the choice, but other than that i don't feel the hype for ZZZ for the gameplay so far maybe because it's feels more of a "mobile game" where you spend energy to do anything. I like the time of day setup and you aren't lock with real time of day, it's really a good choice. The persona vibe is amazing too
The battery system is more remincient of how fgo works, but they usually get around that by refilling stamina when you level up so you get infinite stamina early on.
Stamina system is dated and backwards in terms of gacha. The fact you use fgo as an example a nearly 9 year old game should be screaming red flag to you for this game lol. Also the harsh reality is even in games that do still use the stamina system to do any content they normally give you so many free stamina pots that you forget it even exists. This is hoyoverse and we have 4 games of evidence to show you that they very much will not be handing them out much outside of launch and apology messages. This is a oh you want stamina go spend money company for sure.
@@slayerr4365 Yeah sadly I have to agree with you. In fgo I don't ever worry about stamina anymore because of how generously they hand out refills. Looking at Genshin and relic farming in general, it's not gonna be good.
@@zan1971this game is similar to Hi3, which has a similar stamina system. they give out a lot of energy refills early on and through quests, which is rather easy to obtain compared to fragile resin in Genshin. It only starts to fall off though in later levels, which is usually when you have more to do and less to spend on.
@@slayerr4365nonsense Fgo farming is terrible indeed, but not because of stamina. the biggest piece of doodoo is that you need to clear the same stage hundreds of time MANUALLY to farm which means unless you're insane there is no way you're actually going to use all your apple, i have 600 gold ones in stock rn and the simple thought of having to use them gives me seizures. The stamina system is a system that works. It is the single most common system in gacha because it's so straightforward and such a good baseline for player retention. Hoyoverse people who don't play other gachas are like anime fans who only watched ghibli movies. They'll look at the medium and pretend like they know what's good and bad when they are completly disconnected from reality. The reality is that stage based games like the overwhelming majority of gachas are (GFL, azur lane, PGR, FGO, arknights etc...) need a stamina system to stop the player from blitzing the game and keep playing. I find games with no stamina to be a time sink because they essentially become idle games. Not only is it ubiquitous but most gachas feature game modes that do away with the stamina requirement, arknights has an endlessly replayable roguelike mode, pgr has endlessly replayable war zone mode and roguelikes too. Even if they stop yielding goodies, you can play all you want. Fgo is, again, an exception on account of being really old and allergic to change, i can't recall any content that doesn't use stamina. Hell, reverse 1999 which is brand new uses a stamina system with stages. Such backward wow. Meanwhile nikke which doesn't use stamina AT ALL still has a hard cap on farming through stage being locked for the day after X number of attempt. Stamina is an easy fix for a problem, genshin fixes that problem slightly differently but still hardcaps you in the same way typical stamina does. Every gacha game WILL restrict and time gate your progression in one way or another. The problem is to know how they monetize the cap, if the game creates a problem (restrictive hardcap) and then sells a solution then it is a problem. The actual reality, not the one you made up in your head, is that every single gacha has a hardcap, stamina is just the most common system. Stamina isn't outdated and there is no telling if zzz will have such a predatory system, chances are it won't because we know HI3rd hands you a bunch of potions
Like you said it'd be great if they give character combo rotation tutorial and such in early game. Honkai 3rd took me so long 'til I figure it out that "It's actually has to play this way".
honkai 3rd required stamina for story too. the big difference between them and genshin/star rail is that the story is very specifically set up in stages, i imagine. the game in general seems to pull several major concepts from hi3 anyways, so i'm not too surprised (bangboos are just ELFs, the Assault/etc mechanic is just Trauma, etc)
This game's environment and playstyle reminds me of Digimon Cybersleuth. And if the game is grindy like that I will have absolute blast playing Zenless Zone Zero. Hopefully the game comes out soon
I fear for how long the custom cutscenes will continue. In Genshin we saw in game custom cutscenes stopping and just having prefabricated actions repeating a lot.
Another thing, Bangboo are a rendition of the old ELF system. If they get added then they'll likely get their own banner for themselves, and everywhere else they might be excuded
I personally only have issues with the battery charge thing, I wouldn’t mind any of the other features, but there’s also a bit of lack of combat. Overall, I believe that something they could do is to reward the player with battery charge when completing commissions or story.
I think in these days, when a new game is coming and people can play it before the actual release they play it like nothing else matter and get bored of it. Just play other games as well and you have to work aswell so if u play like 3-4 games and working you will not have that much time so it not becomes boring atleast for me.
I'm glad I watched this video. I was struggling decide whether I would spend my time on the game or not. Knowing that boss mechanics are not outside the realm of possibilities (refering to that pink boss especially), I think I'll give it a try for at least a few updates to see where the game is going. Also, there's a chainsaw axe character, you just can't go wrong with these...right ?
A 6 minute charge generates 240 energy per day. So if you're active you can do Rally twice per day and potentially have 40 left over, depending on if you let it overcap or not.
When i look at ZZZ, it doesn't really have the same vibe as the other Hoyo games, and I believe it would be better suited for a console or PC gaming experience rather than a Gacha game. However, since it's still in beta, there is still a potential that it will improve.
@@aurumlovelyheart9532 If you're talking about Tears of Themis, I can't argue with that. But if it's Honkai Impact 3rd, there are some similarities with Genshin, HSR, and the previous game. However, ZZZ feels like a brand new game with no connection to the previous one. That's why I said that, but I'm not a beta player. And my opinion is just based on the PV, Trailer, and this video.
Being a full pc/console game would require the game having literally any content outside of rolling and equipment farming. Something hoyoverse has absolutely zero idea how to do as evident from all their games. I played genshin for the first time in half a year this patch. First event stolen mario party minigames Second event the same seele treasure hunt event from 3 years ago in a different map. third event just released today the exact same kill mobs for 2 minutes event also from 3 years ago. It can not be put in to words how much this company lacks any creativity or quality to make actual content. In reality if they attempted to make zzz a pc game it would just be hoyoverse copy pasting persona while trying to change it just enough to avoid legal actions lol
@@DLuke-hv2ek no, when I said that its not about connection, You said vibe, ZZZ has the same combat style as HI3rd, that's why I question HI3rd, it has nothing to do with lore and its does not need to
@@slayerr4365 lol, "stolen" clearly you never play 99% of existing game 1 tiniest change remove this so called "stolen" and its called genre If not, every game is stealing each other, lol
I am excited for Wuthering Waves and am going to play that instead. Its great to see that the devs went back and rewrote 90% of the story and also made changes with the enviorment that the closed beta test players reccomended. I'm not on the close beta test but seeing how much Kuro games cares about the communuity already when they are just in beta tells me that this game is going to be amazing !!I can't wait to play it. Def going to keep playing honkai and my other gachas but from what I have seen of ZZZ I think that Wuthering Waves is more my style.
It was harder than the actual fight 😭. Took me like 6 tries and I pretty much cheated the last few by just running in a circle and randomly dashing sometimes
The problem with difficulty and endgame in gacha is the "artificial difficulty" that we see in genshin for exemple; "Oh you don't have perfect artefact with good teams ? Too bad you won't have you 30 stars". It's not "hard" it just recuire you to farm artefact endlessly.
I'm sure i'll love the combat, music and characters but will the story/lore hook me like Genshin did? I'll see. My biggest bummer is not being able to walk around will pulled characters. that's the biggest thing that makes me feel like i didn't waste my cash pulling for digital egirls.
Have you play fighting game or character action game? Because the thing that makes a character you got feels pointless is because it actually is pointless. In Genshin you have characters with paragraphs worth of skill description, but you play the same, 1234 QEQEQE hold left click. The different between Yoimiya an Hu Tao is that you have to spam lift click, while the other have to hold. But the different between Milla and May in Guilty Gear are huge. Different between Dante and Vergil are huge. A really good character can carry an entire character action game. So, if they can make a character fun, you'll not regret it.
@@superpnutbutter8608 I'm old school, i've played alot of action and fighting games but stop spending as much in them when they started designing the game around character DLCs. Most games are single 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 with additional characters designed to allow players to create combo streams/chains for more entertainment. But my personal rating system is not just inside combat only and if i only rate characters for inside combat only, i don't actively pull for them but passively. Any game that offers some kinda of "freeroam" i always want to be able to do that with any character i can play with. I've played RPGs where they limit you on this but i do feel disappointment when i can't roam with all characters but atleast i didn't spend 90$ to get them.
Oh my god, you reaching energy is the main reason why I completely switched from Genshin to Star Rail. They started out with a max of 180 energy to use, but when players said it wasnt enough, they actually listened and not only upped the energy limit to 240, but they made a system where, if you missed a day or two, it saves a portion of energy for later use so you aren't constantly pressured to get on and use the energy or else you're wasting it. That plus all the other QOL changes they've done made me decide to stick with Star Rail, even if its gameplay isnt as gripping. It feels like they actually listen to the issues the players have, and I hope the QOL stuff transfers to this game too, and Genshin as well.
I remember early game genshin actually was pretty hard. Rune Guards felt challenging and required you to actually hit their weak spots, abyss mages felt like bosses that required counter elements. I remember raging to Fatui hammer guys because they were so hard to kill. So I dont think the game being braindead easy should be handwaved with "its a hoyo game" because Genshin IS hard at the start. When you have a properly built team it does get way too easy though
The animations and style look great, the character design is cool as hell and it seems like the basis of solid gameplay is there. It's enough to get me interested in trying it and it looks like a good foundation for them to build on. Edit: I could see a them running combat events for a game like this...a monthly challenge with a very specific combat challenge to complete and could possibly implement a leaderboard element to it. A lot that can be done with a gameplay element like that to keep people engaged and challenged.
Thanks for making this, I'll still feel confident putting time into this. For me, not every game needs to be a forever game and it looks like a fun 50 hours ish then move on.
As cool as it looks, and considering I'm a Hoyoverse fanboy at this point, I'll be skipping ZZZ. Not because it looks lame or too puzzle heavy (which I happen to like), but simply due to the fact that I simply don't have time for it. I'm heavily invested in both Genshin and Honkai Star Rail, plus a couple more gacha games, so my gaming time is already stretched to the absolute limit. If I wanted to pick it up, I'd have to drop another in favor, which at this point in time I'm not going to do, as I enjoy all of them. I wish Hoyoverse well with this new game and to those playing it, may you have much enjoyment from it. For me, I'll most likely look up story breakdowns in the future to see what the plot is, but it's a game I'll play. Cheers!
this feels like a true single player adventure from Hoyoverse. The gameplay is a mix between Persona and Scarlet Nexus, and i am all up for it. I love other Hoyo games and they have amazing single player content, but the they just dont feel cohesive with the other gachapon elements. This truly feels like a game i can just take my time with.
If I drop thousands of dollars into characters, I want to play AS that character. Not the MC. The fact that you can't walk around town except as MC just kills this game. Plus, from what I hear, you don't get to fight except 20% of the time (or less). So when do you actually see and use the character you pulled? If they don't change these things, it's dead on arrival.
Not exactly their fault that people spend money on the game though. If you spend thousands of dollars on an experience that you KNOW you won't have, then its wasted money
@@arkkon2740 I dont understand the point of your reply. They are saying why would they spend money if they know they wont get an experience that is considered standard(at least in Hoyo games) and your reply is "its not their fault if people spend on an experience they know they wont get" when they just said they wouldnt spend on it.
@@GhostEmblemTheir comment was about walking around with that character, its a part of the game that doesn't matter as of now, so why would it be an issue? In genshin this was added because puzzels revolve around who's in your team, in star rail it was added because you get advantage based on who hits first, here this doesn't matter. And if you have any stats on this it would be appreciated, but I doubt anyone is dropping so much money on a character just to walk around as that avatar the whole time, thats not the reason why they spent that money in the first place
12:26 Nah, it's a trap: they say you need X hours in order to enjoy something...then they say you need XX hours to do it...and suddenly at XXX hours they'll go "if you don't like it, why did you play?!". As a jrpg player who gets told this so much, because I need to finish a 100+ hour games to give my two cents, it bothers me to no end.
nice review! i like how objective you were throughout, and i agree with a lot of your criticisms. really hoping they fix the stamina system. i'm torn on separating the day into time blocks (it's nice but i kinda wish the shops werent closed at night lol) and i hope that in the future they change it so you can run around as the character you get like in HSR or genshin :( hopefully they also give some kinda way to customize the main character .. like how genshin and HSR have male and female mcs, or even try out smth like a customizable mc like some other non-hoyoverse games have
I've been pretty curious about this game for a while. I might try it in the near future, but first I gotta grind a whole lotta Stellar Jades for Silver Wolf and I just got back into Horizon Zero Dawn. Regardless, great video. Thanks for putting in the work. 12:20 God, I absolutely hate arguments like this.
I grew up in the era of video rentals and CRT TVs, so you'd think I'd be swimming in nostalgia with the retro aesthetic, yet... I dunno, I don't feel anything for it. Not that it's inherently bad, plenty of people think it's an awesome setting, just really wasn't expecting to feel so 'meh' about it when I started the beta. Still, the animations are indeed very good, and I've so far really enjoyed the combat (very PGR-like, which is cool with me.)
I KNEW IT!!!! When you said persona...the daytime/night time thing....the way the world looks....They really have ALOT of persona elements in this game
I personally am excited to play this game once it comes out because it peaked my interest. I feel like people are so use to doing all the content in one go, which its not the case in this game and i like it, because if you finish all the content first go we happen then? wait for updates? sometimes its better to take your time.
I think you should compare it more to Honkai Impact than Star Rail and Genshin, combat style, that bangaboo creature being the equivalent of ELFs/New supports in part 2 and especially stamina/battery mechanics are pretty similar (as a common gacha mechanic), ZZZ is more polished though, undoubtedly. Though I'd like to see if you prefer HI3 which still keeps its old style in the beginning level and you get to witness the evolution in gameplay + story and its presentation as you start to progress more and more each day.
This will be my first Hoyo game when I give this game a shot. I just gotta give this combat and aesthetic a try. I hope they can get the difficulty to a better place than you described; I'd much rather get my butt kicked over and over then just button mash through it all.
I think it would be great if they manage to somehow change the inter-combat gameplay from the TVs into something more similar to HSR, where you can walk around with your characters and do the challenges you would otherwise be doing in the tv mode. I know that it would increase the amount of development work by a lot but currently the TVs do not seem interesting at all, and not really immersive in the world either.
@@multipatt8710 Criticism, is this "Oh, make another genshit-type shit out of this game, where I could take my characters and go pick flowers in an empty open world"?
The story using energy is like they saw people having way too much fun logging in once every 5 months just to play 6 hours of story and leave, so they put a hard cap on how fast you can progress through the story. LMAO
appreciate the value of this video as most other videos have been focused on combat and story. I'll try it on live but I will probably not stick to it.
I feel like with this high quality artstyle and animation, they should make this a full game with additional dlc rather than gacha. People will get a lot excited in this way
@@ChixiaWWOf course it's come from Kuro dog, why don't Kuro make WW into full price souls game instead of gacha? I thought their game has the best combat ever. Are they greedy? Oh yeah PGR barely make money from niche players so they gotta make genshin 2.0 darkmode so they could share some of Genshin's revenue
I just want the system changes of Star Rail and the visuals of ZZZ to be added to Genshin. I'm not interested in restarting the gacha grind from zero in a new game that I might not even like after a month, but I would totally be willing to get back into Genshin if it got more major improvements beyond simple QoL changes that should have been in the game since the beginning. And also an optional bonus world level at an extra hard difficulty. Even if there's no extra rewards, I would really like for enemies to not instantly fall to the floor by my very presence.
genshin is actually getting a lot of QOL hand-me-downs from starrail, and more are coming. the world level thing is something i've been asking for since the beginning, too. Fountaine did something neat with local legends. each new sub-region has two of them. they're above-abyss level mobs that are just standing there in the overworld for you to use as punching bags. i often just go kill all of them for fun. and well, to be sincere, it takes a serious party to do it. when i go in half-assed, i often get wiped, which is AWESOME. the elemental bottle thrower guy is specially lethal. it's the only thing in the whole game that actually breaks my noelle's shield if i don't dodge properly. about visuals, the animations of ZZZ look absolutely gorgeous, but the graphics themselves look... idk they look worse than genshin to me. feels like a wii game.
@GenshinYuppe Genshin still needs more to it though even now when star rail is going to be getting massive new qol updates in 1.6 like moc floors 11 and 12 and the ability to skip and get full rewards from moc 1-7 as long as you 3 star floor 7. Apparently they will be adding some other special version of moc called pure fiction or something that will swap off every 2 weeks to spice it up as well and you get a total of 6 weeks to finish the 12 floors rather than only 2 with the next round showing up every 2 weeks like normal anyway. They will even be adding a new shop and new currency for those that complete moc to further rewards those players. Where the heck is the motivation to do spiral abyss? Would be easy to just add a currency to it and be able to buy 4 stars or 5 stars and you get currency based off how many stars you get and just keep letting it add up to add some motivation to spiral abyss since a majority of the population doesn't participate which is a shame because it's a cakewalk compared to star rail's version of spiral abyss. Self-modeling resin in star rail also a massive qol being able to make 2 pieces of any artifacts with whatever main stat you want on it is a life saver and Genshin woefully needs this implemented in some way. Star rail also added in this patch extra rewards past finishing the battle pass which isn't much of anything but even a little reward feels nice to get instead of 3 weeks of getting nothing from the battle pass waiting for next patch. Luckily Genshin will finally be getting the new system in place though for using 20 some odd artifacts at once instead of 6 thankfully, but it feels like there can be many more things in place that Genshin should have as a no brainer. Auto resend expeditions finally coming which should have been the easiest thing to implement for instance. Get rid of the dumb weapon banner fail twice to get your weapon. While it may seem like I love star rail more, Genshin is the superior game and I will always stand by it, I just wish that all the love star rail was getting would come this way for once.
I'll delve my toes into this game for a little while and see how the first few updates play out. If QoL gets better in the long run, I'll might continue playing
IMO, TV mode look fun if its a event/game mode, that i can skip it anytime and can play it anytime i want. But if TV mode is a part of the game that i cant skip/i must do, i will say thats a boring game mode. In early maybe is OK, but if play TVmode for long period that become harder or i must do that daily/weekly i think is not fun.
as a guy whos been a casual fan have been playing HI3 since 2017 and never really got into genshin or star rail. this game sounds perfect to me, with the story, the gameplay, the daily grind. while i absolutely adore being neck deep into honkai lore, i think having a more chill story is definitely something i've been looking for a while now to try and chill down. the game play looks pretty similar with the perfect dodges and combo attacks. the daily grind was definitely something i've been more worried about as the one thing that didn't click with me in both genshin or star rail was how long it took to grind and how much daily grinding it required compared to something as quick as HI3, im already used to having the main story or literally all modes taking up some sorta energy meter so that doesn't really faze me in the slightest. having these amazing looking cinematic is just the cherry on top for me, idk if anything is going to ever beat out the everlasting flame video in honkai as i doubt this game will have the same deep character connections, but visually certainly looks absolutely spectacular
Now story doesnt cost energy, you use most your energy on vr to upgrade your character skill/levels and maximum energy is 230. Difficulty is here once you reach late game, unless you never gets hit, your teams is like having 3 glass canon with different roles than can be hit 4/5 time so your better dodge or parry anything. Hardest gamemode is shiyu defense.
@@sector1minos1 HI3 part two is coming soon which updates the engine and graphics. This update looks VERY Similar to what ZZZ looks like. I imagine they are one and the same.
to be honest, having the characters you get as a "party member" and not "yourself" is nice at least to me (yeah hot take i guess). i like the idea of meeting and chatting with the characters, they are your friends, not yourself.
Appreciate your time and effort in making a really in-depth review with actual constructive suggestions for improvement. I hope Hoyo can take reviews like yours seriously. It helped me form a good picture of this game. I don't think I'm going to like every little thing locked behind resins / battery. Maybe it's the CN gaming companies' answer to their government in complying to the policy of preventing kids / youths video game addiction, I don't know. But for me, this is a pretty big turn off. 1 thing I really dislike about Genshin, though the overall game experience is still good, is how higher ARs after AR 45 doesn't even get decent farming returns, making the point of hitting AR 60 seems meaningless. E.g. at AR 58, there is still no surefire way of getting at least 1 or 2 gold talent books per run, having runs that return no gold books are just as common compared to say AR 50. Artifact farming is a real pain that now I don't do anything more than a run a day, just treating it as a small daily lottery bet. I'm guessing similar aspects aren't gonna get any better with ZZZ either, and to know that every little mission needs resin / battery, it's surely not anything exciting to look forward to at this point.
Haven't we seen from the past 5 years of hoyoverse that literally the only people they listen to is the chinese audience lol? I mean every live event they do even on the western side they purposely only invite asian content creators even if it's an English event. To say hoyoverse is a little bit racist would be an understatement. Personally i don't care because I know most chinese culture hate the west and it doesn't affect my enjoyment of a game but it bothers me seeing deluded comments like yours thinking hoyoverse would ever care about western feedback lol
I think going in underleveled at combat challenges will help. It sure did help with my experience with wuthering waves (I'm a person who played a lot of fighting/hack/slash/dodge/platforming games) but the sure do looks really good especially the animation.
I dont think is a bad game and it does have the potential to improve down by adding chars with more interesting kits. But tbh i dont see the point in zzz when hoyo already has Hi3 and they are about to revamp it???. It's like creating a second Genshin instead of working on the current one.
Yeah they already have hi3 but character there is all waifu, thats boring. At least at zzz they have variety of characters furry, waifu, husbando, etc. but that's all that is there to its for zzz.
Thing is, while _HI3_ is a great game (certainly my favourite of Mihoyo's), most people decide to pass on it because of the lack of an EN dub, or because it was built as a mobile game, or a combination of the two. By basing many systems on _HI3_ 's, Mihoyo probably hopes this will bring more players into _HI3_ itself, since _ZZZ_ will have the usual four language dubs, be cross-platform, and not be built as a mobile game, but from the ground-up as a refined gaming experience. Thing about that is, though, that unless they actually add an EN dub to _HI3_ , I still think people who don't want to read subtitles will still pass on _HI3_ -- their reasons for doing so still will not have changed. So, assuming people who come to _ZZZ_ will continue to pass on _HI3_ , it'll be a completely unique gaming experience for them. At the same time, Captains will also enjoy _ZZZ_ because of the similarities inherent in their shared systems. Or at least that's my theory for now. If Mihoyo adds an EN dub to _HI3_ for 8.0, I'm gonna laugh pretty hard.
8:00 I'd expect energy spend to go down as content is added. Like how Genshin added discounts on big boss fights etc as more were added. People were complaining about resin a lot at launch.
from what the game sems to be, i think it should be compared more with honkai impact than genshin or star rail (for exemple the rogue like mode in ZZZ seems quite close the the elysian realm from Hi3)
Definitely, especially in terms of the combat system (focus on evades/parry, mono elemental teams etc), but Genshin and HSR are a lot more known that's why we'll see it being compared to them more often
@@macjakeg Yeah I can understand that but it makes the content creators come off as kinda stupid with the comparison between wildly different genres which often carry little to no value.
as a genshin player, i am so excited for this game. i really enjoy this type of game and i think the concept and the music are like exactly what im looking for in a game
Bruh it's honkai impact based combat. It's a game meant for those players. It just surprises me how much people are so drawn to genshin that they forget honkai impact exists, even some of of you calling honkai impact a "genshin ripoff" even though the game came out FIRST
I see they took a lot more from HI3 than I thought. The Bangboo sounds a lot like HI3's ELF. I am going to assume they will split the banners like HI3 has three banners: Valk/character, Weapon/Gear, and ELF.
Now that I hear someone talking about the game and not only the characters and animations (mabey the algorithm is broken for me) I see myself NOT playing it. It sounds to much like a anime MMO whit instance based gameplay. Mabey when I got a better PC and got a ton of free time, but for now, not. (It's the gatcha. Genshin is in the borderline of what I accept, and HSR got a semi cool story, but no other gatcha got their hands in me)
I'm genuinely hyped for this. I played Genshin for a little bit and was like... ok, this is neat. Tried HSR and got hooked hard. Then I saw the trailer for this and had zero idea what it was. Jet Grind Radio soundtrack to FF15-looking combat and gacha with jiggle physics? I mean... what? Now, the more I see of it, the more intrigued I am.
They have HI3, HSR, Genshin, Tears of Themis, and this all running at once. Plus, you shouldn't expect a beta test to show the final version's quality.
I mean Star Rail and Genshin make them over 100 million a month. Even if ZZZ ends up being mid, hoyo is just fine and literally on top of the gacha world.
@@freshii3716Developed outside CN yet CCP still manage to influence the final game. At first Beta I am proud that they show some balls to fight against CN but in the end it is the same sht.
I was pretty hyped for this game for its distinc , slick hiphop modern style over other Hoyo previous generic fantasy anime fomular. But tbh, with luke warm display of contents like this. Project Mugen gonna dwarf this new Hoyos child soon :D.
This game is clearly made for Honkai Impact 3rd fans. It even uses the same core features. Some of the comparisons are that the Bangboos are like Elfs, Hollow Zero is just Elysium Realm, using energy for story content, and the combat is the same but gets rid of time fracture and puts more emphesis on QTEs. The difficulty scaling is realatively the same too (with the exception of some of the side missions in the openworld chapters for HI3 becoming challenging as you do them over and over for better gear in that chapter)
The thing that drives me up a wall while I’m in CBT2, is when people build their entire argument around difficulty is that I wasn’t sold on this game for challenge. When I saw trailers for the game, I was imagining Devil May Cry in its normal difficulty, not a Dante Must Die challenge. Sure, finding something engaging is important, but I always answer questionnaires about the average story or commission content as Just Right. It’s not hard, no, but enemies have a tendency to surround me and make gauging dodge timing feel different, or a particular rogue construction machine has punishing aoe combos. I found normal content like that engaging, even if most wouldn’t consider it challenging. And all this is before proper high-end content too.
Ah man i would love to have a option in Genshin or HSR to spend the max resin and get max rewards instead of doing X runs, especially in HSR doing 6 simulated universes per day is a pain in the ass
By far the game model is most similar to Honkai Impact 3rd. The combat is pretty much the same with the switching attacks, dodge attacks, and combo attacks. The story and game progression has the same element where you spend stamina to do them. The gacha seems pretty similar as well in terms of potentially having a banner for the bamboos (elf equivalent in 3rd). If you aren't familiar with Honkai Impact 3rd or any other similar game model, then you might not like these features but I honestly don't see much of a problem. Yeah, maybe the TV mode could be changed to be more for side missions or puzzles, the difficulty could be harder since it's targeted towards more niche communities who value it (I guess?), and the story could be more immersive for the starting hours, but besides that it doesn't look like anything else is really a negative. Different games have the possibility to have different game models so maybe it's better to adjust to it rather than make them copy their other game models that may not be suitable for this type of game. Again, idk much but I enjoyed the model of Honkai Impact 3rd so not much complaint about the structure here.
So this video took me way too long to make - I am sure it will not perform as well if I just released my first impressions on day 1. BUT... I wanted to be honest here and experience everything before I can deliver my thoughts. Hope you guys enjoy this video.
Good video, keep it up!

this is actually a good review as you cant really see the full picture in day 1 reviews, those are just first impressions
I think what hoyoverse is doing is not necessarily wanting the whole same crowd of genshin or hsr, but looking into new audiences as well that probably enjoy this type of game. I think many who enjoy genshin and hsr may find this not their type of game.
Don't know about that. Genshin and ZZZ are more similar to each other, both being action-based games, than either is to HSR and its turn-based system.
@@TheHouseInFataMorganano bro ZZZ is similar to honkai impact 3rd
@@TheHouseInFataMorganagenshin and zzz not really similar, I can tell you never played honkai impact 3rd. Zzz takes so much mechanics from honkai impact their only difference is that zzz has a parry system HI3 doesn’t.
As someone who didn't get into Genshin and HSR mostly because of the style, ZZZ really caught my interest so I kind of agree with this
I know HI3 isn't as popular as Genshin or Star Rail, but it's people are straight up forgetting it exists when looking over ZZZ.
@launova1016 it's not like pgr is anything unique so saying zzz is trying to be pgr is kinda wrong to me
@@sarenlover6624 Hmm i didn't really say that though, because then it would also mean i said PGR is trying to be Honkai, which is incorrect.
I laughed so hard at 10:23 cuz the amount of story stages i had to redo in hi3rd from (good) difficulty and how it's always been this skill-needing battle system
A good laugh also hard reminder how few are playing hi3rd......
@@evalinova combat mechanics are more reminiscent of apho than Gray Raven (they are even using apho combat as baseline for part 2 of honkai)
Honestly, style-wise, this game has the most appeal to me; if they started doing persona level interactions I think it could perform strongly. I would buy characters if they gave extra side cutscenes that lead to anime B plot level stuff.
It seems that Genshin is designed to appeal to the broadest and widest audience, while Hsr and ZZZ are more catering to specific player niches
edit: to clear confusion, I don’t think he is bashing this game solely for the reason of “not being a genshin”, but rather the fact that if hoyoverse is aiming ZZZ towards the broad appeal “genshin” road, it still needs some work to be able to do that. For it is more niche.

Yeah, that! I feel like it adds so much to the games design. I love how much details Hoyo adds to the clothes and little character moves, that makes them special, but there is only so much you can do with the same body.
When i was young...we had only psychic, Biologic and Mecha.
Younglings this days.
There's Senti who counters most bosses. kek.

@@GhostEmblem...what the hell would you even hack?
Honestly 4/4 Valks are only a need if you want to go 1 to 1 with whales and veterans (Red Lotus to Nirvana) So yeah, i thought i'd had to mention this for anyone not really familiar with it
--Edit--: There's a couple replies being a bit more critical that i have been, and i guess i have to emphasize what i said was mainly based on my experience as a HI 3rd player for over 3 years, i'm aware others might have had a different, not as pleasant experience.
I just hope they change the way TV mode works, maybe like SU in HSR where it's still fun, short, and straightforward while still bringing the rouge-like element into the game so we can enjoy the battle more often
game already have size of 40gb you're like asking for them to add another 50gb by adding tons of 3D map that function as TV mode
I think the best way they could do TV mode is to make it so that main story content TV modes are relatively short and simple, basically not an issue for anyone, but then also have clever and fun TV mode puzzles that are 100% optional content and clearly defined from the rest, similar to Spiral Abyss.
@@timogul on CBT1 tv mode is already simple but people complained about it beg for more variety hence why CBT2 have tons of TV puzzle now
@@Kittysune12 I think it's fine to have both, but it'd probably be a good idea to not force people who like the one thing to fully engage with the other if they don't want to.
even in HSR SU, its only fun when they introduce new stuffs, after a while people will get bored.
The persona vibe is amazing too
The battery system is more remincient of how fgo works, but they usually get around that by refilling stamina when you level up so you get infinite stamina early on.
they also give ''stamina potions'' very often there so at least the stamina is not one of the problems the game has
Stamina system is dated and backwards in terms of gacha.
@@slayerr4365
Yeah sadly I have to agree with you.
@@slayerr4365nonsense
Fgo farming is terrible indeed, but not because of stamina. the biggest piece of doodoo is that you need to clear the same stage hundreds of time MANUALLY to farm which means unless you're insane there is no way you're actually going to use all your apple, i have 600 gold ones in stock rn and the simple thought of having to use them gives me seizures.
Your feedback is priceless, I hope HY will take it on consideration
So ZZZ is basically honkai impact but without the dramatic drama
edit :meant HI3 not the train one
More like Hi3 with artifacts
I haven't really played honkai impact but aren't the stigmatas basically artifacts? @@freshii3716
Couldnt be more dramatic than a dramatic drama
Another thing, Bangboo are a rendition of the old ELF system. If they get added then they'll likely get their own banner for themselves, and everywhere else they might be excuded
I personally only have issues with the battery charge thing, I wouldn’t mind any of the other features, but there’s also a bit of lack of combat. Overall, I believe that something they could do is to reward the player with battery charge when completing commissions or story.
我认为您的介绍已经非常完善了,我希望它可以像拳皇一样,自己搭配出招,考验的是自己的操作,并且随着玩家技术的提升,游戏的目标,可玩性也会随着变高。
I think in these days, when a new game is coming and people can play it before the actual release they play it like nothing else matter and get bored of it. Just play other games as well and you have to work aswell so if u play like 3-4 games and working you will not have that much time so it not becomes boring atleast for me.
Yes thats valid but the point is also to get feedback, which I really hope they take seriously.
So if you're active you can do Rally twice per day and potentially have 40 left over, depending on if you let it overcap or not.
lol
The game looks so beautiful i hope they polish it out and it's good on release. Im really excited for it
Thanks man, this video really answers all my curiosity at a glance, good work
Legit I heard you say spend resin for story quest, and I have zero drive to play now
Play another game, or go outside?😂
When i look at ZZZ, it doesn't really have the same vibe as the other Hoyo games, and I believe it would be better suited for a console or PC gaming experience rather than a Gacha game. However, since it's still in beta, there is still a potential that it will improve.
Including Honkai Impact 3rd?
First event stolen mario party minigames
Second event the same seele treasure hunt event from 3 years ago in a different map.
third event just released today the exact same kill mobs for 2 minutes event also from 3 years ago.
It can not be put in to words how much this company lacks any creativity or quality to make actual content. In reality if they attempted to make zzz a pc game it would just be hoyoverse copy pasting persona while trying to change it just enough to avoid legal actions lol
@@DLuke-hv2ek no, when I said that its not about connection,

I hope they iron out most of the problems from this beta. But having 3 potential banners is rough with the current rates Hoyo has set.
How's the story now? Did you enjoyed it?
This was 6 months ago? Yikes. I thought hewas talking aboutthe launch game because I feel the same way about it.

It was harder than the actual fight 😭. Took me like 6 tries and I pretty much cheated the last few by just running in a circle and randomly dashing sometimes
The last time I remember mihoyo's difficult story fights are all in honkai Impact 3rd
The problem with difficulty and endgame in gacha is the "artificial difficulty" that we see in genshin for exemple; "Oh you don't have perfect artefact with good teams ? Too bad you won't have you 30 stars".
It's not "hard" it just recuire you to farm artefact endlessly.
Well genshin did add ways to clear easily without amazing artifacts with dendro. Idk if they'll ever add that to ZZZ though
it does require skill and not just perfect artifacts cause I struggle every time and its def a skill issue..
Only genshin is like that lol
12:06 love how you get your cat in the shot looking impressed with your collection
I'm sure i'll love the combat, music and characters but will the story/lore hook me like Genshin did? I'll see. My biggest bummer is not being able to walk around will pulled characters. that's the biggest thing that makes me feel like i didn't waste my cash pulling for digital egirls.
U can't also jump
Genshin lore is prob the most basic anime sht ever, I actually dig the world building of ZZZ, it also have superior character design by far tbh.
@@Delta-city I think you mean Genshin's story is basic. The lore (History of the World) is anything but basic.
You reminded me of the one time genshin was ever fun, thanks for the nostalgia.
Not being able to walk around as the character i pulled is whats bothering me the most its turning me away out of all their other issues
Thanks for making this, I'll still feel confident putting time into this. For me, not every game needs to be a forever game and it looks like a fun 50 hours ish then move on.
so wait, that event where you could mega buff enemies in Genshin was just a test for ZZZ feature? AINTNOWAY
Thanks for your honest opinion man, I found this as the most complete and honest review of the current status of the game.
If I drop thousands of dollars into characters, I want to play AS that character. Not the MC. The fact that you can't walk around town except as MC just kills this game. Plus, from what I hear, you don't get to fight except 20% of the time (or less). So when do you actually see and use the character you pulled? If they don't change these things, it's dead on arrival.
this
Not exactly their fault that people spend money on the game though.
And if you have any stats on this it would be appreciated, but I doubt anyone is dropping so much money on a character just to walk around as that avatar the whole time, thats not the reason why they spent that money in the first place

nice review! i like how objective you were throughout, and i agree with a lot of your criticisms. really hoping they fix the stamina system. i'm torn on separating the day into time blocks (it's nice but i kinda wish the shops werent closed at night lol) and i hope that in the future they change it so you can run around as the character you get like in HSR or genshin :( hopefully they also give some kinda way to customize the main character .. like how genshin and HSR have male and female mcs, or even try out smth like a customizable mc like some other non-hoyoverse games have

Is that what you're talking about right?
Amazing video, I’ve played the beta for about the same amount of time and I have the exact same issues with the game even though I really enjoy it!

Genshin only needs Star Rail's resins system and their SU mode.

as a guy whos been a casual fan have been playing HI3 since 2017 and never really got into genshin or star rail. this game sounds perfect to me, with the story, the gameplay, the daily grind. while i absolutely adore being neck deep into honkai lore, i think having a more chill story is definitely something i've been looking for a while now to try and chill down. the game play looks pretty similar with the perfect dodges and combo attacks. the daily grind was definitely something i've been more worried about as the one thing that didn't click with me in both genshin or star rail was how long it took to grind and how much daily grinding it required compared to something as quick as HI3, im already used to having the main story or literally all modes taking up some sorta energy meter so that doesn't really faze me in the slightest. having these amazing looking cinematic is just the cherry on top for me, idk if anything is going to ever beat out the everlasting flame video in honkai as i doubt this game will have the same deep character connections, but visually certainly looks absolutely spectacular
Yea, exactly..it's APHO but bigger..love it
Now story doesnt cost energy, you use most your energy on vr to upgrade your character skill/levels and maximum energy is 230. Difficulty is here once you reach late game, unless you never gets hit, your teams is like having 3 glass canon with different roles than can be hit 4/5 time so your better dodge or parry anything. Hardest gamemode is shiyu defense.
Doesn't this look just like a glorified HI3? Genuine question 'cause I havent really played HI3 long enough to know.
It's a worse hi3 the combat is essentially toned down
not really sure which target audience zzz is in since part 2 of hi3rd already is coming
i feel the same, is like a better graphic and physics hi3rd
More like simplified HI3rd
@@sector1minos1 HI3 part two is coming soon which updates the engine and graphics. This update looks VERY Similar to what ZZZ looks like. I imagine they are one and the same.
It is interesting to see how much has changed in these 6 months
i enjoyed the length of the video
That was really comprehensive thank you
to be honest, having the characters you get as a "party member" and not "yourself" is nice at least to me (yeah hot take i guess). i like the idea of meeting and chatting with the characters, they are your friends, not yourself.
man, your board game collection is awesome)
@@BNutsitu akan menjadi pekerjaan yg melelahkan bagi Hoyoverse dan tentunya akan menambah lebih banyak biaya serta storage pada device.
Is Hoyo falling off? I'm gonna say maybe. The game after ZZZ will either be better or worse.
They have HI3, HSR, Genshin, Tears of Themis, and this all running at once. Plus, you shouldn't expect a beta test to show the final version's quality.
This Game was developed in their Singapore studio so that likely explains why it lacks a ton
@@nitrons_ We'll have to see what the final product looks like. I do have reservations However
I mean Star Rail and Genshin make them over 100 million a month. Even if ZZZ ends up being mid, hoyo is just fine and literally on top of the gacha world.
@@freshii3716Developed outside CN yet CCP still manage to influence the final game. At first Beta I am proud that they show some balls to fight against CN but in the end it is the same sht.
i personally really like this game, at least conceptually, and i can't wait to see this game improve more and more!
And all this is before proper high-end content too.
it's mobile game you should expect DMC in easy mode with EX costume equipped
in bayonetta case easy mode with bracelet of time equipped
In h3 we have 100 percent garant on character
Exactly, this looks like hi3 gameplay levels
watching this after the release (I've playing ~10 hours) because I didn't wanna spoil myself
spot on review, including the good and the less good
