It's a wonderfully carefree and at the same time quite settling version of a simple song. It is somewhere suspended between night and dawn. Love and lack of it. The evening is not over yet, but there will be no more mornings like this. I will not have any other such moments. Only once does such a feeling occur. Only once it is so strong and disappears with a sleepy, pale dawn and morning everyday life.
OMG! I'm amazed! The most beautiful version of any song on earth, i Just started crying after the introduction, and than i closed my eyes so imagens came into my mind like If i was "seeing" The song.
For me it was "Blue Skies," which I wore out on LP and CD. Had to replace the CD. Also misplaced my "New Moon Daughter" CD, but had to have a copy in my car, so bought a second one.
Been a fan since she was with M-Base Collective, based near where I lived in Brooklyn. That was a little-known and more experimental jazz project that produced some good music and allowed her to shine. My fave album of hers is New Moon Daughter and I also love Traveling Miles. 🙂
You know while this woman can sing love songs; somehow there's a still rich message in her lyric to tone to posture translated through the song. That allows you to love yourself whether with a lover or not....very inspiring.
