Great coverage, but I thought the 2nd trooper was using his taser in drive-stun mode -- based on the switch activation at the start, and the press-move-press actions of the trooper for pain compliance. I don't know that they can safely use the launched barbs that close...

Hitchhiking is only illegal because the local governing law enforcement can't trust its own citizens to make safe decisions cross the road when safe too and choosing trustworthy people to ride with idk that's no place for the government to step in for, that dude didn't hit the officer he held his hands and they fell, dude had no clue why they were tussling tbh it went from normal convo to the floor rq for seemingly no reason other than the officer felt like he was too inept or incapable of using his eyes ears and feet just strange imo
I was in a situation like this near Sandusky, Ohio. A state trooper stopped and offered me a ride, I complied and he took me all the way to the outskirts of Toledo, Ohio. I wholeheartedly thanked the trooper for his kindness.
When i was 18, back in the late 90s, my stupid arse decided to pick up a friend and drive around for awhile drinking on a 6 pack. I do, looking back, consider that an act of evil despite that no one was hurt ... thanking God i did not hurt anyone. Anyway, around midnight, i dropped off my friend and was headed home when my car stalled out and would not start again. I was a good 15 miles from home on a pretty much deserted highway ... so i grabbed my last beer and started walking. I barely started when a cop passed and flashed his lights ... i chucked the beer as he was turning around but surely he did see that not to mention, looking back, i know i had to reek of alcohol. He asked me what happened and where i was headed and then he told me to get in the car .... he actually took me home (ran every red light too which i thought was cool .. no worries ... no one else was around to care). He gave me a lecture like a father would his daughter before letting me go into my home. It stuck too .... what he told me. I was playing stupid and things really should have and could have turned out much worse. This happened in Austin tx.
In all fairness, the trooper needs to take some martial art classes or some classes on how to keep his balance, this encounter could have had a different result had the subject been a wanted criminal/ felon....

Unless there had been reports of him walking on the roadway, jumping around startling drivers, ect. I don't see any Reasonable Suspicion or Cause to Detain. At most causally approach the man ask if he is OK or if he needs a ride. Maybe he just wants to travel on foot unabated; which despite the risks, is his Right.
When we broke down, we actually walked on the side of the freeway to avoid the hood at night. Knowing full well that a trooper would stop for us. And one did. He gave us a ride for about 17 miles to our exit in the better part of town. We told him that we would get lost and mugged off of the freeway, and he agreed. Saying it was his job to keep drivers safe.
That’s all this guy had to do. The officer would have gladly taken him to a safer area (within limits of destination). There was no reason whatsoever for the guy to come unglued like he did. Zero.
Being a state Trooper seems way more dangerous than just being an average cop. The cops show up in groups of six, troopers pull people over alone in the middle of nowhere.

He was Drive stun, just keep the safety on the taser and when you pull the trigger it will initiate the stun, no prongs get deployed but you will still get zapped.
The taser used does not work like that. The safety has to be off for it to activate. You can see the Trooper remove the black cartridge, and then apply the taser. Therefor the taser was an X26 or X26P. Not one of the newer X2 or something that allows for independent activation of drive stun. X26 is safety off and pull trigger. Drive stun can be used with or without a cartridge. With a cartridge, when pressed against the target the arc is not going across the doors, so it doesn’t fire unless it’s pulled away from the target.
@@PTRRanger951 I believe that's a taser 7 due to the yellow and black coloring and long "slide" with short "grip" which does allow for drive stunning without removing the cartridge, the taser 7 no longer has the id tags on probe deployment afaik if it was deployed
When my kids were very small we were coming home from Christmas at my mom's. The car broke down just before the river bridge that crosses from Texas to Oklahoma. It was cold and my husband and I started carrying the kids to get to phone. A state police officer came and told us that someone had called us in. He loaded us in his patrol car and took us the 6 miles home. We were so thankful. Never in my 66 years have I ever encountered a police officer that hasn't been polite or helpful.
That officer was lucky to have backup close by. Those unfortunate officers in desolate places like New Mexico (Officer Darian Jarrott ,. R.I.P.) , have no backup within a half hour sometimes. Luckily citizens and truck drivers will sometimes jump in and help the officer.
Jarrott was set up by the feds to deal with a dangerous subject on his own with no heads up about the situation. IMO the feds were an accessory in this instance, therefore they should be disbanded and replaced by a Cadre of selected state LEOs and Sherrifs representing the states and counties instead of the feds picking their own to represent themselves.

The guy had a free hand the whole time if you need to rewatch it, the dude just did nothing let it play out, cops just kept using more force for no reason
@RANDOMNATION suspected of not being able to use basic human functions, some the 11b I know used to walk along interstate before redeployment or reups for training, dude the officer had no right to initiate that arrest, it's not texas where i10 has a 5 foot shoulder and 10 lanes completely filled with cars, it's light traffic with a huge shoulder he's fine
i really cannot imagine being a cop without high level fight training, grappling and striking, no way. this should be a requisite of becoming a police officer.
I was a cop. In my day you didn't put a hand on us or you got your ass bent. Consequently MOST people unless they were drunk, high or crazy, did NOT make the grave mistake of touching or attacking one. Especially a cop working alone. All he has is himself, far from town, and real help was a LONG way away when a fight starts. IF you could get the word out. All this is obama's make them quit, jail them or kill them program he wanted since day one. When local policing is finally all destroyed or JAILED then he will get to create the 'National Police Force" he always wanted. An NPF answering to Washington alone and operating exactly like the Gestapo, KGB, Stasi Secret Police or FBI. They already don't miss many of the Nazi's tricks these days.
Problem is, even folks who seek out extensive martial arts training don't want to be cops. In a troop of 32 new cadets, I don't have more than 2-3 with any previous training and even then, it's only a year or two.
@tim56777 Stupidity should be an arrestable offense. No assault by the trooper, he should have complied. All bright one had to do was comply, quite possibly the trooper could be held responsible if the toddler was injured due to his stupidity. Duh.

No, not a good idea to stop right there or even pull over after the turn arounds. They're at the exit turnaround which there are 2 turnarounds for traffics. You take that chance stopping and running towards the officer, you also take the chances of either causing an accident or getting hit by a car. You got cars merging onto hwy 35 and then you got cars exiting hwy 35. Best way to stop is before the turnaround. But anyone who has passed them both, its already too late to stop. Thats why you see both officers pulled up on the exit turnaround to avoid traffic.

That is known to us in law enforcement as a drive stun, all you do is remove the cartridge and pull the trigger, documentation is still necessary in the Incident report that the taser was used.
@@bengen19 i agree there did not appear to be and since every trigger pull is saved and will show upon download the dept would obviously know. I would like to think that most people would .Cops are human beings with loved ones at home .I am almost 60 years old and I have never had any interactions with police other than going through a check point or in a charity drive put on by the police. I have never been pulled over or had a traffic ticket .I am a real desperado ...
I have personally have always found State Troopers to be helpful and for the most part, even friendly. I think Troopers everywhere deserve a lot of respect. They have a tough, lonely job.
I’ve had ONE interaction with a state trooper, and let’s just say I could have lost my license, paid a HEFTY fine, and had my car impounded due to the situation, and he wrote me a seatbelt ticket. I was on the way home from work, my music was too loud, I was driving too fast and not paying attention to my surroundings so I was speeding in a construction zone. I was 17, just a kid, and soon thereafter was shipping off to boot camp. The dude was cool as a cucumber, and it helped that I wasn’t heckling him. Mutual respect goes a LONG way.
That is because they are often trained a lot more extensive then your typical city cop or sheriff. Use to be that you had to be a certain height to be a State Trooper and they had to have military experience. Which a lot of State Troopers that get the job do have a military background.
Speak for yourself. You roll around with out of state tags and most of them screw you over the most they can both constitutionally and unconstitutionally. They know you wont go to court and fight it if you are out of state. It costs too much money and time. So the cops take advantage of it
I agree this officer probably out weighed the offender by 30 to 40 pounds, should not have needed help, the only thing I'm not sure of, was the perp going for his gun and maybe the officer couldn't get top position because he was protecting his gun.😊🌏
@@hippopotaman075 that suspect knows wrestling and other martial art moves. See how he uses his body and spreads out his legs. I respect the officer working through the motions but officers need more hand to hand training including jujitsu. Could of gone south for the officer.
Agreed! It's actually safer for a suspect to be effectively restrained quicker..... Many years ago I got in a fight with a no-shit karate black belt....Somehow, I never hit him. @@SyrupCanuck that was exactly what my comment said, i was agreeing with monkeyseemonkeydo. Thank you, Minnesota, for allowing us to see these professional State Troopers in action. I for one am very grateful for all the State Troopers across this great land and respect everything that they do to keep us safe and secure as we travel the highways and byways of these United States of America. 🇺🇸
The Troopers protected the individual who was walking along the busy interstate. There are signs posted at every on-ramp that specifically states no slow-moving vehicles, pedestrians, nor tractors allowed on the interstate. As a CDL-A Commercial Truck Driver I understand this law. You ever heard of "suicide by Truck" where a mentally disturbed individual will step out in front of a moving Tractor-trailer that's doing 65mph fully loaded? Yea, it happens. So pedestrians need to stay off the interstates and freeways where traffic is moving at high speeds, including Commercial vehicles, and a pedestrian can easily get struck by oncoming, or outgoing traffic. It was very dangerous for this individual to be walking in a restricted area. So once again, thank you Minnesota State Troopers for saving lives. 👍👍👍
This is what I like to see, cops taking care of business in a clean way, people have such a high level of expectation regarding this profession, it's good to know cops did their part, the rest belong to justice or perhaps in this case the health and social services.
I have to give a lot of credit to a dispatcher in saving my life, one who can detect the sound of an officer's voice in trouble; I was called to a restaurant where 6 suspects were causing a disturbance and damaged, upon arrival to the scene, the suspects were gone; since it was close to code-7 (lunch) I stayed on scene to take the report. I was unaware several of the suspects had returned through a side door and they attacked me from behind. Being on code 7, I had my radio on top of table, and it went flying, since the restaurant was packed, I threw out my arms and like a football player, prior to law enforcement drove them out of the restaurant, into the parking lot. With no radio to call for help, the fight was on, and I could only use one arm, since the other was holding tight on my service revolver, which the suspects were trying to get. I could not draw my weapon, to many other people in the parking lot standing around watching. A young girl who was in the restaurant with her family found my radio and by the grace of our Lord, she made her way through this this fight and held it up to me, where I grabbed it and called out a 999, yet before I could give location and the radio was taken from me. The dispatcher knew my voice and put out the call on all channels and surrounding departments; "999 officer in trouble", the code where everyone responds ASAP. Unknown to me, a state task force of several agencies was setting up to raid a house for narcotics. Within seconds unknown people were pouring in to help me, at first was scared, I was not made aware of this undercover team., then they started taking out their badges. Yes, I could have gone to my firearm during this fight, since I had my nose and jaw broken, several ribs broken, a large gash above my right eye blinding me and in need of stitches and a severe concussion, to the point of almost passing out. I spend several days in the hospital, more recovery at home and assigned light duty before returning to full duty. The city awarded the dispatcher and the small child who bought me my radio for saving my life.
@@JigglyWiggly69: Thank you, I wanted to go to sleep after one of the suspects kicked my head into a cement column, yet a voice kept telling me don't go to sleep or you will die. I still very grateful to this day for the dispatcher and the brave little girl who brought me my radio, how, only the Lord knows how she did.
My dispatchers actually got mad at me on occasions where I could be in high stress, people calling saying your officer is fighting with someone or whatever and I'm like I'm good here. They always said they couldn't ever tell if I was in trouble or not. Same flat monotone all the time. It served me well to keep my shit together at all times while on duty......and off for the most part. I could see what they're talking about though. Other officers would get louder or their tone would change. Apparently mine never did. Dispatchers are awesome and take so much crap for their officers!
@@jasonsimmons6684: I heard the modern officers did away with using codes, we had a code system, which must be mastered before ever getting into a patrol unit and our Dispatchers knew the codes as well, saves airtime; plus, if one work the streets long enough, one get to know the others on their squad and what their abilities are to handle calls. I didn't need Dispatch to advise me to back up another officer if I heard stress in his voice over the radio, if everything is Code-4, we chat for a few seconds, then back on patrol.
As for the taser, it is possible the Trooper used the "drive stun" mode which is done by activating the taser and placing it against the subject's body. This can be performed with or without a prong cartridge attached or after a prong cartridge has been deployed. You see in the video that the second Trooper does place the end of the taser against the individual's body.
That’s what I’m thinking happened. Yes, a taser throws sparks, but only when the prong cartridge is deployed(the sparks are the cover of the cartridge being ejected out of the way and the prongs being ejected out of the cartridge towards the target. I’m this case since the original trooper was so entangled with the suspect, the second trooper would not be able to deploy the taser prongs without also hitting the original trooper too, so therefor the second trooper instead decides to use his taser in “Drive Stun” mode like any typical “Stun gun” pressed directly on the suspects body. So while a taser cartridge may not have been deployed, the taser may have been used as more of a stun gun pressed against the suspects body. But even then, that may not have even needed to happen, the 2nd trooper may have just said “stop resisting or you will be tased” or something along those lines while holding the taser near the suspects body getting ready to tease him and for once the suspect actually immediately complied so the taser didn’t need to be used… maybe…
The taser 7 or cq7 cartridges does not shoot out confetti like the m26 /26 cartridges do and yes the taser x3 x2 taser 7 and cq7 have a dive stun mode where you do not have too take the cartridges out like the m26 x26 or x26p.
I agree he may have used it that way. I saw it used that way in a crowded bar with a guy that was causing trouble and refusing the leave. A little juice and he decided to comply.
But the guy just arrived and now it's a 2 on 1, so seems like absolutely no need to be thinking taser at all.... understandable if still a 1 on 1 and losing the battle
@@johnandspencer The taser also has the option to be used as a contact stun gun. Most people are familiar with it shooting out two prongs that embed in the suspect and Trail wires which carry the electrical current. This allows the taser to be used at some distance, however it also has contact prongs on the face of it that allows it to be used like a conventional handheld stun gun.

He did deploy the taser - they operate as a contact weapon also. - That is what the second trooper was doing when he ran up. He saw he could not deploy it as a barbed projectiles and he was trying to get it switched to a contact deployment. - They give a jolt that usually gets someone's attention, and they feel sort of like a wasp sting when you get zapped with one, but the pain quickly subsides once contact is removed. It looked like the trooper hit him about 3-4 times to get him to comply.
Nope, the cartridge containing the barbs and wires has to be removed before deployment in the drive stun mode. I watched the video several times and it appeared the second trooper did not remove the cartridge . If he had pulled the trigger, the barbs would have connected with the suspect, wires would be exposed and the id tag confetti be all over. It's a lot more than a wasp sting. Mental illness is a serious problem these days.
@@jackryan2542 Well, we will have to disagree. I have one in my hand right now, and I can attest to the way it works. It is selectable between contact and projections. - Perhaps you have an older model? (The 1st generations did only have projectiles. The 2nd generation included confetti with serial numbers)
FYI narrator: The taser does not release "confetti" (called AFID tags) when it's used in drive stun (body contact) mode as it may have been used here. It only discharges AFIDs when you fire the darts out. And you most likely would not have seen those AFID tags anyway had they been released due to the long range of the camera shot.
I’m glad you said because I was going to add that. One correction though, they’re not ‘darts’; they’re barbed prongs. The narrator does “confirm there was no taser deployment” and technically he would be right. However, as you said, a drive stun was used to get this individual to comply.
Yes, the tags actually have a serial # printed on them so it can be determined who fired the taser shot. Each cartridge serial # is assigned to specific officers just for this reason.
Lol kinda reminds me of my younger days when I used to hitch hike a lot, but I never had the issue of being thrown to the ground by any LEO, I usually had good relationship with them, up to and including being given a ride at least to the county line or a on ramp so "I'd be safe", but that was back in the '80's and ain't no way I'd try it now, too many cretins who would cut your throat for no reason
I’m always in awe of the state patrol dispatchers who manage to handle the call volume of MN highways, all while communicating with first responders, organizing inter departmental efforts , all while keeping the camera focused right on the incident that is occurring if available.💪
I hope the ladies on "The View" take notice of this..then praise the Officer....LOL! Of course Sonny Hoffman will call that White Officer a racist..LOL!
Bro that officer literally took himself down. It is amazing to me how many police officers and troopers know nothing about wrestling or Jiu Jitsu but put hands on people professionally
When I was a kid about 18 years old my car broke down on the freeway. And A highway patrol officer gave me a ride all the way to meet my dad at 1 o’clock in the morning. I appreciate them.
Unfortunately, today's law enforcement officers are of the opposite breed of ones years ago. New recruits aren't looking to help people, the more time that passes they make sure the good ones get weeded out. My father was a decorated officer who loved his community. Within a year of the war on drugs, realizing they had him destroying lives, and not helping anyone, he got a job helping addicts and their families. There's always an exception to the rule. But the "good guys" are not good anymore. The bad guys have not changed. Most importantly the vast majority of law abiding citizens are terrified of law enforcement. They'd be fools if they weren't.
I want to commend you on your professionalism. I wish that more ppl who reports on these incidences would take the time to evaluate these and not automatically go straight racism and defund police officers. So THANK YOU!

I have lived in the TWIN CITY area for 53 yrs. From my experience the Minnesota Highway Patrol has the MOST competent and compassionate officers, but the "City" cops , not so much!
While hiking one day in New Hampshire's White Mountains, I came down the wrong trail and realized I was about three miles from where I had parked at the start of the hike. So I started walking on the highway in the direction of my car. A trooper pulled up beside me and told me that walking on the highway was prohibited for safety reasons. I apologized and explained that I knew of no other route to take. He told me to hop in his cruiser and gave me a ride to the parking lot where I had parked my car. He could have given me a citation and driven off.
People have seen the news. We know what happens when you touch the untouchable race. It doesnt matter if they are trying to kill you or not. The media and the democratic party will come after you. So its every white person for themselves.
They didnt really have much time between scuffle start and second officer arriving. Like 10 seconds. I'd have stopped, probably, unless it was dangerous traffic wise.
My daughter was new to our city and got lost. She went to the nearest police station and asked if she could have a ride home. She gave him the address and the police officer kindly gave her a ride home. Most Police officers are willing to help when needed.
The guy may have not been "Tased" but the stun gun light was on, so it looked like he was stunned. He sure lay still even when they let go of him which is difficult to do with an Adrenalin rush. He was in the wrong and he did resist detention. LESSON: Don't walk on freeways or expressways.
Drug paraphernalia was found on suspect walking on a busy interstate? Shocking. Just another self important, entitled brat, I’ll do what I want man/child that was never told no.
Can't agree with the quality of the narration; he mentioned far too many times that the taser wasn't deployed. Something like 12 to 15 times---that was totally unnecessary.
Just wanted to point out that there would be no taser confetti in this case as the trooper removed the cartridge that contains the barbs and confetti allowing the use of the taser for direct contact; this is why the trooper was pressing it against the road walker. Chances are it was deployed as a contact devise rather then a ballistic one
Quick FYI. The cartridge does not have to be removed for what is called a drive stun. Looks like the officer forgot to disengage the safety before attempting to drive stun the individual.

For some reason, I expected the Trooper or the suspect to get a couple punches in but you can clearly see neither one of these men tried hurting the other, that's a win.
Oh fuck that! The trooper should have been punching him to help gain control. You are naive as fuck if you think a cop shouldn't punch someone in this situation.
Me too...that statie...he slammed himself down pretty hard u can see his head bounce...of course his hat came off but it didn't protect anything anyway lol
Don’t cops have murderers to go after instead of people walking and minding their own biz? What a waste of money to pay cops that don’t have nothing better to do than bother innocent people
Lmao nope, the cop grabbed his hand and pulled it toward him then when the purp put himself against the car, the cop decided in his infinite wisdom to try out some of the WWE moves he watched on TV and while holding his hand tried slamming on him instead fucked it up and the guy was just standing there lost as fuck while the cop holds his hand and takes himself to the ground and ofc the guy is glued to him, if he wanted the cop dead he had a free hand the whole time he could have swung or tried choking him while he was on the ground but he didn't sooo :^) this cops a clown
A lot of the tasers have two ways to use them… the darts that fire from a replaceable module and then a contact mode that can be used if the dart module is removed. Kinda looks like he did the contact mode but I can’t tell if he removed the module or not. Either way, those traffic cameras enabled critical information to be relayed to responding backup when the trooper was unable to give it. Great resource.
Yes, tasers have two modes, Dart mode and "Stun Gun" mode, but all that I have seen of the newer series that officers have do not require the dart cartridge to be removed to use stun gun mode. I am pretty sure the second officer did use stun gun mode at least twice. Tasers actually record the time and deployment of shocks as well whether in stun or dart mode.
@@AKULA689 Nope, He reached around the weapon with his free hand to either: A. Either switch modes (Older series) or B. Turn Safety off..the modules on that series are high visibility yellow. When he engaged weapon to body cartridges remained which is obvious. If he had removed the cartridges he would of had to throw/discard them, which he did not do as to keep his other hand free for use. Officers normally carry the taser opposite to their service weapon as shown, as such he used his left hand to deploy and his dominate hand to throw whatever switch he was doing for dexterity.
This was an awesome video. I too like cameras too assist law enforcement, citizens can check if the freeway has too much snow, or not enough. I know we have no privacy with vehicles telling on you, cameras everywhere etc. So don't fight it as this will help law enforcement if they get hurt, backup and ems will be right there. Same for other humans. ❤❤❤

The suspect put a hand on the police officers chest. Under law that is striking the officer and assault. He also resisted which is a second offence whihc he should be charged with.
I'm confused as to why everyone is so defensive about a taser being used, period. Not knowing what that person had in the backpack immediately put the officers in danger and the physical resisting showed a willingness to do other unexpected things. Tase away.
I agree 100%, I mean I can barely sleep at night out of my fear of unknown backpack contents, and backpacks are everywhere, hell we should just let the cops shoot anyone who has one, am I right.

I can vouch that a 45 second grapple is like 5 minutes long, and the feeling of personal danger must be suppressed in favor of extreme alertness to every muscle flexion by the opponent. The Trooper can be extremely glad the individual kept the pack on, thus losing mobility, flexibility, and the artificial surge of having 50lb less weight to move. I am grateful that other units were so close. Normally, a Trooper may be many minutes from another State unit.
@@jillwisland680 Yes, officer did it on purpose, but it was the worse take down ever. Cop needs to take a class on how to do a takedown without landing on your back.
The stop was not based on any actual law. So it must have been consensual. If the man wished to leave and the officer detained him without suspicion or cause then it was unlawful. The roadway is the area between the solid white lines. The man was walking in the "easement" alongside the roadway commonly used for emergency stops or slow moving vehicles.
@@arctictimberwolf At most he should have been wearing an orange reflective triangle to signal "slow moving vehicle" per Federal traffic regulations. Wow, well I have a story to tell. I wasn't hitchhiking and I wasn't walking along the interstate. I have had more "aggravation/frustration from their safety and law enforcement protocols" in the Carolinas than any other state - okay experiences one at the airport and one on the interstate 95. I think it is in South Carolina I-95, the lanes change from 3 to 2 when crossing the NC/SC into SC. Depending on the time of day or month - I-95 South gets "gridlock" and accidents always happen when drivers are racing for lane position: it was in December 2013 - I pulled over onto the shoulder plus just a little further away from the traffic. My dog needed to stretch his legs and do his business besides I wanted to stretch my legs too. My dog likes his privacy, so he headed straight for the tree line with me in tow holding the leash. The tree line was at least 20yds-to-30yds from the road. About 10-minutes later a state trooper showed up: he was pushy in his tone of inquiry. He said he got a call that there was a man walking aimlessly along the interstate. I replied my dog needed to go for a walk aka use the bathroom and we are not walking aimlessly along the interstate. This trooper felt the need to issue a warning with a lecture of the laws of the interstate to me. I also had a couple of bad experiences in hotels/motels in the Carolinas. I will always drive through the Carolinas and I will never stay there again.
There are 2 roads into Jacksonville North Carolina coming from Wilmington where it goes from a 60 to a 45 but some signs are hidden by the beginning of overpasses or other stuff until you get a certain distance. Cops will literally sit hidden behind the overpass (under it, passing the ramp) and pull over people who are just seeing the sign after seeing the cop and thinking they're fine for going 60. Almost every day I see people pulled over there it looks more predatory than anything.
Isn't it better to stop at a rest area or pull off at an exit? Imagine if more people pulled off to the shoulder, and for 10 minutes! It would be a distraction to drivers.
@@luigib7311 I guess you can't read between the lines. I always did stop at the rest areas because they have dog walking areas. I was miles away from a rest area!

Too easy for the suspect to deliver a good knockout punch and then take my gun. If a suspect attacks a cop, all bets are off. For the measly $25 an hour my city paid me, it wasn't enough to let some POS keep me from me going home to my family. It is so bad out there now, all these perps want to fight, resist or flee. From the UK - what was the reason given for this person's behaviour? It seems that the officer was trying to prevent a further footfall on a hazardous roadway and this individual was not agreeing to it, hence the "obstruction" charge, no doubt. What is it with certain types that are not open to reason and rational instructions from figures of authority and end up in these unnecessary combative situations that can have dire results?
Cops worried abt the man being harmed by traffic. But, instead the victim is harmed by police. If that doesn't sum up the police. I don't know what does. 😂
Whenever you see an incident like this, you can thank the politicians, the schools and sometimes the parents. How police are looked at is diabolical, they have a tough job to do, look how this punk shrugged off the cop, he was taught this. And thanks so much to the people who saw this and kept driving. A holes.
Even the cop. Probably being divorce raped and his kids being raised by emotional cow who dates the guys he probably arrests. Why couldn't he call that other cop in before making an arrest? The black guy obviously a similar size and aggravated. The cop had minimal training and dropped to the floor. The black guy slightly psycho could have taken the cops gun and hurt himself and the cop and anyone else.

Look closely and see the light was on at one point.

The perp should have been the one to hit the ground.

Many years ago I got in a fight with a no-shit karate black belt....Somehow, I never hit him. Strange mn did this with the stupid laws they been passing lately

Thank God you got out ok (minus the injuries) that must be an adrenaline pumping moment…and shame on those people for not helping.
@@JigglyWiggly69: Thank you, I wanted to go to sleep after one of the suspects kicked my head into a cement column, yet a voice kept telling me don't go to sleep or you will die. Respect🇺🇸👌
Stfu. He didn't use it. Why do you want to be stupid 🙄.
Feel like the taser prongs weren't deployed so no medical was needed but he was definitely dry stunning him
Yep .
What does dry stunning mean
Works even better than fry-by-wire.

Officers normally carry the taser opposite to their service weapon as shown, as such he used his left hand to deploy and his dominate hand to throw whatever switch he was doing for dexterity.
Yea despite calling out in the video repeatedly that no taser was deployed, the cop most definitely used the stun gun on him.

Yes they did….excellent work!no sense trying to respond to hypersensitive commenters……we have rules, laws, codes for reasons….if not we’d be a 3rd world country…great post!!
@@plymouths99 maybe it'll knock some sense into that, brain dead head on his shoulders.
@carmencordova6877 That's your definition of a perfect job? I see your parents raised you with the lowest standards available.
Glad the Officer is fine, wrestling in traffic could be bad. Kudos to dispatcher for being on the ball, and to the 2nd officer who arrived so quickly.
This trooper just attacked someone for walking. Wtf?
Trooper was fucking the dispatcher. No reason a dispatcher should be on the freeway
@@samuelting1876 no dickhead it’s illegal to walk on the expressway.
@@samuelting1876 wow u don’t understand law? This guy shouldn’t have been there?
🥳🥳
The guy just had to move off the highway and keep going on his marry way.
Cause when they give you a ride they search you before you can get in. Dude didn't want searched or ran for warrants.
Doesn't matter if he "didn't strike the officer at any time". He tripped him to the ground and assaulted him. Off to prison buddy !
He didn't trip the officer, that was a purposeful takedown by the officer.
Sue the cop for assault
Officer took him down purposefully; rewatch the video.
@@jillwisland680 Yes, officer did it on purpose, but it was the worse take down ever. Cop needs to take a class on how to do a takedown without landing on your back.
@@JeffHershey-ce8xu It almost sounds like some of you people are on the criminal thugs side instead of the officer !
This Trooper needs jiu-jitsu.
It was assault on the officer, by definition.
The Cop touched the Walker first instigating the entire thing.
@@AaronAlso , Correct^!!^
@@arctictimberwolf
At most he should have been wearing an orange reflective triangle to signal "slow moving vehicle" per Federal traffic regulations.
Imagine a world where the public servant stops him not to effect arrest for some fabricated crime. But, instead to provide such safety equipment and perhaps a bottle of water. I am confident that a cheap vest would cost the tax payers less than what happened here.
@@AaronAlso , Sure that ain't a bad idea but the Road is the paved area between the solid white lines. He was walking on the Easement not the road. Those Cops were wrong to even approach the guy.
If any of you are like me, and more or less afraid of confrontation, fighting, etc, if youre ever in a situation like this, where you want to help someone out, just stick a finger right in the eye of whoever youre trying to stop. Doesnt even have to be hard, but itll do the trick!
Nah, make it two fingers - one for each eyeball.
@@spikey2740 damn man, youre 'hard as a coffin nail!' Maybe you're right, my thought is, if he has at least the one eye, he can still look in mirrors for the rest of his loser life and remember his "big day?"

As a retired cop, my thought when I was on the job, was that if I was alone and a suspect got me on the ground and was overpowering me, I would end him. Hardly anyone just gets arrested anymore. Our society is broken!
Sounds like society does not need your kind anymore. You could always come out of retirement for the state of Utah.
@bobharris6095 Thank you for your service. Sad to say it, but you're right, it's a jungle out there.
I can't understand why ? Fight, disarm, Taz but to end a life? Life is precious. If he's not armed and another officer coming to help it just seems excessive to me.
@@4Dangert I can't understand why the criminal means more to you than the officer. The officer is merely doing his job protecting us non-criminals from the scum.

Should be charged with assault on Police officer, resisting arrest too, IMHO
thank god i had the narrator to describe to me what i'm already seeing with my own eyes. i never could have figured out the guys body language on my own

From the UK - what was the reason given for this person's behaviour? It seems that the officer was trying
to prevent a further footfall on a hazardous roadway and this individual was not agreeing to it, hence the
"obstruction" charge, no doubt. What is it with certain types that are not open to reason and rational
instructions from figures of authority and end up in these unnecessary combative situations that can
have dire results?
Not Necessarily, the police has done a lot to Spoil there own public image. I can name Dozens of cases of Power tripping, lying under oath , and unnecessary stops. I can agree with you that’s it’s a very tough job and they deserve to be respected but the notion that we can’t be critical of them is ridiculous.
What a terrible religion to have
