- A visit to RAF Fylingdales in 1969 and Inverness at the River Ness then the locks on the Caledonian canal at Fort Augustus.
RAF Fylingdales is a Royal Air Force station on Snod Hill in the North Yorkshire Moors, England. Its motto is "Vigilamus". It is a radar base and is also part of the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System
Very nostalgic thankyou for posting
I was stationed at RAF Goldsboro near Whitby as a radar operator in 1954 we filled in for Fylingdales all buried now it was hi-tech in its day underground just a big mound of grass but 60 feet below !!!! lots of rooms and corridors
Also shows Inverness at the River Ness then the locks on the Caledonian canal at Fort Augustus.
