When I see this Loco it takes me back to my days as an engine cleaner then fireman at Crewe south sheds in 1967 now 57 years ago 😳, it was preserved at Crewe south sheds and I think David Bailey owned it then..It was a pleasure to clean this because it didn't go out on the mainline much and usually 8 of us cleaned it with paraffin first then an emulsion liquid and all by hand , its a wonder I still have skin on my hands, no plastic gloves those days.. The shed closed in 1969 even though officially it closed in 67 as we still had working steam locos until 1969...I transferred to Old Oak common and enjoyed my time there , but to see Sir Nigel Gresley running in 2023 is astonishing ...Hats off to the preservation societies it takes a lot of work to keep this type of steam loco active...
Wow! Always great to see 60007. Interesting train too. Never seen a rake of coaches with a restaurant car and a buffet car in the same formation. Great stuff!
What a wonderful video! Here in Italy we never had so powerful steam-locomotives, because all the main-lines were electrified between 1902 and 1961. I apologize for my shaky English.
Thank you, I’ve been to Italy and that’s something I realised, every line is electrified there, still a really nice country to see trains and visit in general!
Ever since I was a young trainspotter in the late 50's A4's always were and always will be my favourite locos, there's just something magical in shape and sound. Great video 60007 by the way
Couldn't imagine a better location to see this sort of steamer soar right past you. Excellent view that not even the GWR bi-mode passing at the end ruined.
I am curious but why in all vids of A4s pulling so they have a diesel at the rear? I know it likely has nothing to do with assistance as those A4s can pull more than that, but is it acting as a brake van or?...
Colour me confused. People must have been able to hear that was Sir Nigel Gresley and they treated the event like just any old Goes to Wales Railway multiple unit!
The best ever reason i gave forbeing held on a signal, outside of Victoria train station was, that we had had a platform alteration due to waiting for the Sir Nigel Gresley to get up a head of steam, prior to movement. We would now be going in onto track three as sng was on track two, on our right hand side. You could feel the whole train lurch as we went in.
Should be titled "The ENGLISH Riviera". The REAL Riviera is on the Mediterranean coast. I was so disappointed. I was hoping that the A4 was repeating the Flying Scotsman Tour, way back in history.

Thank you! and yeah it was a rare catch, was pathed as a Black 5 but then the A4 showed up so that was a pleasant surprise.
Grockles walking aimlessly along the promenade blissfully unaware of WHAT is coming - the look on their faces is a picture. WHAT A BEAUTY!😮👏👏👏👏👏👏
SUPERB in every respect. Thanks guys.

Nice videos
Awesome capture my friend Like 👍🏻 fantactic locomotive 😍 from 🇦🇷 nuevo suscriptor Greeting 🙋🏻☺️
Поезда всегда были красивы
Excuse my ignorance, by why the diesel on the back? is it pushing, being towed?
it supplies energy to the coaches, and yes in case of emergency it will be used to tow it.
Wow....good...👍
terrific
Lokomotif model antik❤
Nu e prea mare viteza-n curbe ?
They should make a Silverlink replica later down the line!

I believe it is used to supply electricity to the coaches, can also be used to tow if the engine fails
Enjoyed!
Inscrita no Canal...like 505...espetacular 😊 saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷 😊
Good ideo, like!
Does it tow the diesel on the back as insurance ?
Partly that, sometimes to provide heating or shunting coaches at the end of the public journey.
It also adds the equivalent of 3 coaches to the load, so 15 on here, effectively. Impressive.
Very good, sangat menarik
Nice❤
With full back support of diesel loco

Is that the legendary mallard locomotive???
no its her sister. named after its father designer, Sir Nigel Gresley No. 60007
Nice and nostalgic. Why is the route called Riviera, other than the obvious answer that it resembles the Mediterranean ones?!
It didn’t whistle at me
It’s because there’s a whistle board right next to where i was standing.
Hallo my friend !

Which one. The French or Italian?
