    It's good to see Scott in his true format. He doesn't look bad now in 2021. All that's needed is for those parallel bar things on his front to be made silver again and his wheels restored to green. He isn't just any locomotive, his historical appearance is important!!!!

    This time the loco has just reached her centenary celebrations last year and now it’s in her 101st year

    3:35 I SWEAR THATS ME! I used to have a red tshirt and shorts like that when I was 12 (in 2004) and I remember being on that side of the platform as the Scotsman pulled out of a station one day, why didn't the camera stay on that shot for a few more seconds!

    It's great to see the driver and the other cabin crew acknowledge the people on the platform and wave to them.

    Good old Flying Scotsman with his original number "4472" before 60103.

    Atleast she was still in Apple green as LNER 4472, but goodness gracious BR, the German smoke detectors look silly on it.

    Love this train. Theres just something mesmerising about it. They did a wonderful job recreating it on my favourite xbox game Forza Horizon 4. Its great how it rolls through the british countryside! The only way I get to see it is when im playing that game!
    Id love to see it in real life and take the kids for a ride on it...theyd love it!!

    Lemme know if Flying-Scotsman has ever been to Bridlington, too

    He looks much better with those two bars and that round thing on his front facade in silver than in black. Sorry, I don't know what they're actually called.

    Could someone please tell me why Flying Scotsman's 2000s condition is controversial

    • @pansparrow
      @pansparrow 2 года назад +2

      It's because of the smoke deflectors and double chimney. She never carried those with LNER Apple Green in service, which is why it's a controversial look. She also had a chime whistle, something else she never carried in service

    • @heniflynn700
      @heniflynn700 2 года назад +1

      @@pansparrow Thanks. I didn't know about the chime whistle, so there's something new, I suppose! I found out it was a South African Railways 5-chime whistle that she was first fitted with during the Marchington years. I'm assuming this whistle has now been replaced, although please correct me if I'm wrong.

    • @pansparrow
      @pansparrow 2 года назад

      @@heniflynn700 Yes, it has since been replaced and she has ran with her current (more usual) bell whistle since 2016

    Sorry but this is how she should look. We have so many BR liveried loco's she needs to go LNER again

    • @columnedfox5508
      @columnedfox5508 6 лет назад

      1st problem the LNER isn't going anymore, idk about BR though but because the railway is nationalised, it's highly unlikely she'll ever be painted in apple green again

    • @aceoftrainsproductions745
      @aceoftrainsproductions745 6 лет назад +1

      LNER being non-existent isn't why Scotsman's not in LNER livery. It's because he's supposedly in the wrong shape to be painted in said colors. Right now he appears the way he did in his final days of steam on the BR and that's how people want it to be. Maybe one day they'll give him back the old single chimney and repaint him but idk

      Its in LNER Green but just with “Britsh railway’s”on its tender

    • @nvrthomas5056

      @@HomerPenguin5516 Tornado isn't owned by the NRM, and that's the livery the Peppercorn A1's wore when they were put into service for the first time in 1948
