  • For those who already have undertaken a career ask yourselves: What was your dream career in high school? What might have prevented you from doing it back then?
In this amazing talk, Tomás Crozier shares with us his own dream and how he has overcome several burdens and how his experience can teach the next generation of students to chase their dream. Tomás Crozier is a drummer who plays for and is Vice President of the the Modern Music Masters’ Honour Society. He is also a part of the House Band in School of Rock, and has played in front of audiences of over 8000 people in large public venues. Being a high school Senior, Tomás understands the importance of finding the balance between being a student and a musician, and speaks about its importance in pursuing passions in life. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I commend this young man for realizing at an early age that humans have the power of choice. You can choose to create the life you want for yourself (chase your dreams) or you can choose to go the safe and traditional route which has caused many to not actualize their dreams or potential. Bravo sir for choosing to work toward your dreams. I wish you the very best!

¡Thanks man, this is great! Unfortunately there's always bitter people who think that this is mediocre philosophy, but instead, is actually about what is life and our purpose, and maximizing our potential.

I never had a 'dream career' now that I think about it. I always wanted to be an astronaut (who didn't?) growing up, but in retrospect what really interested me was exploring strange and wild places. That's why I think I made the right choice in aiming for money and financial stability first, because my dream is ultimately a non-profitable 'idea'.
To be clear, I don't think following your dreams is a bad idea at all. However, I do think that it's important to first spend time thinking about what it is you as an individual actually want, before setting of in single-minded pursuit of your dream(s).

Thank god he's good at playing the drums. It was a real chore to listen to his monotonous low impact voice for 17 minutes.
