He must’ve been really young here

He was born the same year as I was, 1954. He would've been 19 in 1973 when this took place.

Well, it's just a damn shame there isn't more footage of this band with the late Hollywood Fats and Bob Margolin on guitars. I saw them in 1973 at UMass Amherst. I was very impressed with Margolin but completely knocked out by Fats and have been a lifelong fan ever since. Some years ago Margolin told me via email that he thought it might have been the last time the band with that particular lineup played a gig. The harp player when I saw them, unlike here, was a white guy, who I believe was Paul Oscher. He was excellent. I just now found out that Oscher died a few days ago from COVID-19 (unbelievable). As for Muddy, there was no showboating for a camera the night I saw him. He sat on a tall chair and played and sang and nothing else. It was one of the most memorable music shows of any kind that I've ever seen and heard.

I saw him at the Rusty Nail in Sunderland about 7 years later. Remember that spot? Highly memorable night!

UMASS had killer shows in the early-mid seventies.

Saw Muddy with Paul Oscher in 71. Great concert. Sorry to hear of Oscher's demise.

@@bogthing1 At the end of the school year in 1974 they hired Aerosmith to play a show in the auditorium.
Not that many people at the time had heard of them, and they really didn’t go over so well.
The opening act was Chris Rhodes and his band from Boston.
They were a big hit with the crowd.
I thought they were excellent. They played a brand of r&b and jazz. I think they had a couple horn players and an excellent guitar player.
A year later I saw them play a gig at a club in either Boston or Cambridge with a different guitarist, who was also excellent.
