Typing this as I'm listening. Bouncier version than Wilbert's and just as wonderfully done. Skip beat on the drum is more prominent in this one. Muddy uses stop choruses where Wilbert doesn't. More soloing also. Definite distinction between rock 'n roll and blues versions.
Esto dice hoy el New York Times, entre otras cosas, sobre Pinetop Perkins: "His longevity as a performer was remarkable - all the more so considering his fondness for cigarettes and alcohol; by his own account he began smoking at age 9 and didn’t quit drinkin' until he was 82. Few people working in any popular art form have been as prolific in the ninth and tenth decades of their lives."
Kids, the blues had a baby and it was called rock and roll. It’s come full circle, as legendary blues men Muddy Waters and Pinetop Perkins render a great rendition! Check it out!

My boyfrind was his neighbor. At 1st meeting Muddy came by to buy his van and did not think much because Muddy was just a blues guy. That was until we were at a Clapton concert in Chicago and Muddy was on stage with him??? Holy Heck he said! Muddy had this funny saying "cool as a motor pool" he woiuld say...
Superb indeeed, MrBluesman. No one mentioned Paul Butterfield playing the bluesharp. Another fabulous bandleader and singer. All legends band. Muddy had great backing bands. Looked for Willie Dixon, probably busy that day setting up the blues foudation.
What I like about Muddy Waters, is that he always lets the other musicians shine.
Because he is not the best musician!
@@paulverhoeven9154 That's why he teamed-up with Johnny Winter.
All His career,He had top notch musicans, from drums,harp,guitar....H.Wolf also....they even exchaneged them....for some reasons.....

Jerry Portnoy’s harp playing is superb on this! ❤
I don't understand that people who put thumb down... To see this version and this band is wonderful for my hears and my soul!!
Right you are!

Hey hey now @@mifolfree9043
I love this version.Excellent!
Willie Big Eyes Smith on drums, what a tempo this Muddy band could lay down
Don’t forget Calvin Jones on bass. He is keeping it grooving
Plus Luther Johnson is rhythm guitar. Margilion is solid as well
Willie Big Eyes really carries the whole tune with his superb drumming :)
LOVE Muddy & just about everything he did. He ACED this one, as did his band, who were always top-notch.
Mr. Mud and "steady rollin' Bob Margolin......It don't get any better!

Absolutely brilliant music
Did anybody mentioned His shirt....?
Best version ever!!!
Pinetop knocks it out here. I loved that guy!
Thank you so much for posting this. GENIUS IS TIMELESS!
What a really great band! Muddy's voice sounds fantastic. I recognize that hearp player from Eric Clapton's band from his nothing but the blues tour.
I really enjoyed it. 😃
Mr. BLUES, MUDDY WATERS SING. ✊ 👏
Muddy Waters taught himself to play guitar! It was in his DNA. And one of the best!
Most guitarists teach themselves to play guitar, it's not rare. It's how the instrument is traditionally learned.
just put on headphones and smile. Real Love man. Real Love.
Real legends this touch my soul each time again.
What a wonderful performance,a privilege to see!!!
What animcredible group of musicians!
Estupendo cover..... 🥁🎺🎸🎙️🎤🎹
Love to have seen Muddy live great track.
great rendition...fine lead guitar work...
Killer tune with Bob Margolin on guitar
Especially killer tOne. He had a fantastic guitar, it help. Luther Johnson solo kills, too.
Margolin looks wrecked!!
Thankfully "Steady Rollin' Margolin" got to be part of Muddy's unit for a number of years . God bless you Bob ,
endure to the end .
Love how this vid includes a Myspace link at the end!!
Muddy Waters el mejor interprete de Blues, es la esencia de éste genero musical. Viva Muddy Waters.
This is just good, basic music! Luved it !
absolutely flawless! & absolutely brilliant!
This makes me want to go to Kansas City!

Well the Blues is the Devil’s music, so it’s very likely that the greatest blues guitarist gets to be a headliner.
