I think ivory tower have made a masterpiece with this installment of the crew series. The graphics, the events, the atmosphere, improved handling. All amazing

I didn’t really like the crew, and hated 2. But I’ve played both betas for this one and I really really enjoy it. I’ve got probably 300 hours in Forza and even compared to that, this is a lot of fun.

couldn’t stop playing this for the first few hours lol having moved from Hawaii recently being a pacific islander myself it got me homesick a bit but with a huge smile especially the slang talk the characters used and Hawaiian language of course and the history of a few of the Hawaiian Gods plus when they added the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro 4x4 already knew… 🤙🏽 💯 not only all that but then Donut Media James always cracks me up Mo Powah Babeh!!! 😂

So far I’m really enjoying this game, the handling is good, the cars sound good, and the drifting is pretty decent .
My only issue is how hard it is to progress and the amount of time it takes. The summits are honestly unfair.
Seein The Crew franchise take a very good step now makes me want Need for Speed to get their act together as well

I agree that the customization is a good thing, but not that important to me tbh if the rest of the game isn't good. It also would have been nice if you could play as the cops like in Hot Pursuit and Rivals.
too bad ea had to destroy the fate of Heat bc that game had potential. I just wish nfs games would have less arcadey handling
1:38 The irony of that is, technically, the Ivory Tower devs were first. They were the creators of TDU 1 and 2, which imo laid down the foundation for this style of open world. However, the Horizon series seems to have perfected the formula.

Test Drive Unlimited is basically the Elder Scrolls Oblivion of the racing genre, they came out the same year. Like yes, it was very good, and is still worth playing, but comparing games in 2023 to it is archaic. Forza Horizon 4 and 5 are obviously objectively better experiences than inserting Test Drive Unlimited into an Xbox 360. So like yes that game was very good but let's move on please.

This is absolutely the best driving game made to date. The graphics are stunning. The control is spot on I use a wheel. The thing I really like is the AI drivers don't sneak up behind you and give you the pit maneuver. Spinning You out of control like my other racing games do. But I did turn voice's off. They were driving me nuts It was like listening to a babbling tweaker lol. Music too turned off I like hearing the car and the road effects without the music covering them up. Big tip for more realism Turn all driving aids off so you feel like you actually driving the car and not the computer.
So you lovely people can't go back and judge me for my other reviews (please) cause I was still figuring out the right style and structure for them. Guess this pretty much settles that. So I'll aim to replicate this style more in future reviews. Thanks so much for all of the new subs and the insane amount of views and engagement! Love you guys.

My main gripe with motorfest is that the game yet again requires online while forza horizon 5 does not.

I always wanted to try the Crew 2, i finally had the chance to play the trial on my ps5 recently and was kinda underwhelmed. The driving mechanics were weird and floaty. A game that has excellent mechanics imo is Wreckfest. This new one looks interesting, graphics are decent but not a patch on Horizon 5, now that game is gorgeous.
i know ubisoft isn’t pregnant, but sure knows how to deliver 😂

The fact this review constantly compares The Crew Motorfest with the Forza Horizon series and not even mentions Test Drive Unlimited 1 & 2 once is quite telling, this game was inspired by TDU and not Forza, the Oahu map in Motorfest is a re-hash/updated version of the TDU maps. Besides that a nice review and keep up the good work :)...
Also we have to keep in Mind that Motorfest is from a Dev Team that is in large parts the former Developers of TDU. So them going back to the roots with Motorfest only makes sense

@@whatsnewvideogames You are the one that compares 2 games, i said the game was inspired by TDU and the map clearly shows that. These are 2 completely different things. By not acknowledging the game that clearly inspired this game ONCE in your review is just a simple oversight from your side...
One thing they got majorly wrong with this game is that you can’t use your own vehicles for any race. You’re locked to using a loaned vehicle for each one and can only use your own cars in free roam…
I believe you're only locked out of using your own vehicles the first time you complete the races in each playlist, but I could be wrong
@@whatsnewvideogames even if that is the case, who will want to complete each race just so they can do it again with their own vehicle. Very odd way they made this game and it’s weird that the playlists are the only races too, no normal races. Definitely wasn’t worth the price tag, crew 2 & horizon 5 are 10x better and have no cheesy speech all through each race
Plus, Ubisoft/Ivory Tower is gifting 5 hours of free gameplay during the game release, so you can try it before you buy. I’m so hyped for this game, I can’t wait!

That game was so bad I wasn't even that mad, I honestly felt embarrassed for the developers. It was just sad.

I've been loving motorfest, I loved 1 and 2 but Motorfest definitely stands out although I do miss the darker tone that the crew 1 took
Played the Demo and it was a stunning experience
I think 10 minute races for online a perfect I don't wanna be racing for half an hour and then get hit at the end to get shunted back to 15th Place.... I think quick races are great and 10 minutes and intense speed and white knuckle is actually a long time

To anyone who like me are in the fence with this iteration of The Crew, there is a open trial arriving at September 14 that lets you play the game for 5 hours. It's better than commiting and be left disappointed.

Who tf wouldve thought UBISOFT. THE KING OF MID. Would revive racing for Playstation. Unbelievable. I can finally ditch Gt7. I can finally peacefully night drive with physics that arent garbage (looking at you nfs).
Its not as good as Forza. No one expected it to be. But ironically, even for a try hard racing fan like myself, second looks pretty damn good.
This honestly looks better than FH5, they know what they’re doing with the car atmosphere and the environment.
handling, and the sound are better, the only thing I don't really like is when you go airborn in a car and it seems gravity get's stronger to get your car on the ground

I only used to play forzas because it was just so much more enjoyable. I had played the crew 1 and 2 for a very small amount of time. I just started playing motorfest and it is so enjoyable. I like it way more than any forza and have very few things to complain about. I would give it a 8.5/10 very fun and cool game.

For me it's even more interesting then FH5 mainly because more racing diversity and a, for me, way better Progression System then Forza Horizon. Also I like the Perk and Set System in Motorfest 😁
Even though I already have FH5, I still kinda wanna try this game because FH5 didn't really seem to have much in terms of progression. Like, you log in, and you immediately get gifted a lot of very fast cars. No work required.

I hop in from time to time in TC2 but couldn't play it for a long time due to the handling not up to my liking.
Didn't like the handling in TC1 also.
Tried the beta and the handling feels fun, they really improved the handling a lot. The car sounds are also great.
I don't usually gets excited for Ubisoft's games but I really want to jump in to this game soon.

I hope we can turn off the arrows on the road. I'm not interested in arrows that's the only thing I just rather play the game and learn the tracks. That's part of the fun of it. I understand why they're there, but I won't be using those and I'm glad they've upgraded the feeling of the car and handling, and while the crew two wasn't bad, it was almost to arcade and two on rails to really enjoy. Where is this game? Looks like it has a nice balance of handling, but still retains the fun arcade style game that it was intended to be think you can have Sim-cade and still enjoy that
The racing line can be turned off. I haven't seen a racing game where you can't disable it.
I actually ended up loving The Crew 2, but this game ain't it.
I understand if you only have Playstation this is as close as you are getting to Forza Horizon, but this game falls very very short of that mark and it's not even close.

Going from forza horizon to the crew is gonna be tough on you. Mostly because the crew motorfest has some of the worst driving physics

They might be not on par with FH on the Right Settings, but they are far from being the worst in any way imo
I was honestly disappointed with how poorly the visual quality translated to the RUclips video. It looked a lot better playing it on my 4K tv on PS5.
@@Justaeuropeanman not necessarily, I’m well used to arcade like racing games, like NFS, etc. For me, i’ve played the crew two for a bit as well, and it wasn’t bad to go from two different driving styles. Im usually quick to adjust as long as i can maintain my concentration from the start and process what’s different. Have to respectfully disagree as well bud 😁

This game has more disappointments than appointments.
1. The map is not a 1:1 ratio. is a lot smaller
2. Game feels more like a DLC than a new game.
3. lobbies are 8 to 10 players max
4. no pedestrians
5. AI cars are just racing around like chickens with their heads cut off.
6. no mirrors... like seriously they look like they were made with Plato.
7. Cars ridiculous expensive, typical ubisoft trying to get you with micro transactions.
8. no ray tracing (massive let down)
This game is not worth $70 any youtuber telling you other wise it means they are getting paid for it.

3.PVP has 28 player lobbies in Grand Race, unless you mean freeroam which is still limited to 4 per crew.

5.Depends what difficulty you play on, sometimes you have to downscale the difficulty cause it's impossible to win.
6.Blame the TC1 engine this was built-on.
7.You don't have to buy anything with irl money, the game is just extremely grindy. The micro-transactions are there if you want to buy something easier.

I really like the lighting in the game. Part of me wants to get it. But I feel like I won't enjoy it enough and play it much. There are so many games out and coming out. Plus the new Forza is where I see myself spending much of my time with a racing game. Might wait for a sale or something

preordered for PS5…not a huge gran turismo fan and always loved the Forza games especially the last one, so looking forward to similar polished open world racing game on PS5. The later half of the year has some dope releases and i want them all.
I don't understand why 200kph look like its going at 70kph.
What I didn't see, is how this game can hook me for more than a dozen of hours. If it's going to be as dead on arrival as the horizon 5, then I see no point in getting it, honestly.

So I'm guessing you've never played a Gran Turismo game. Not to take anything away from this came, because I haven't played it, but I am thinking about. But Gran Turismo is a Beast.
Uh Gran Turismo is far from a casual sim, it's a pure racing sim, like Asetto Corsa. This game plays nothing like those games because it's not a pure sim, it's like Forza Horizon.
I see you used all those key words to over sell this game. It's really just a crew2 expansion that has nothing new to it, even racing is stupid since you need to purchase the cars but you're given a loner to race with, looks beautiful that's all it is

I think forza missed their mark with their newest game. I bought an Xbox series s just to play forza, and it was extremely underwhelming. The progression for how much you can mod your car doesn’t even exist. Before I had even completed the tutorial I had a 900 hp dune buggy. There isnt any progression in terms of making your car faster. Which is where I think motorfest did so well on. You unlock parts that are a little bit better than the current ones you have. So you don’t immediately get a 1000 hp car that ruins all other races. Just from the trial of the crew I already know it’s a better game

This game looks beautiful and it will probably take away some of the longevity of the game but I’m glad I can import my cars from the crew 2 instead of having to grind to get the same cars again
Or have them sell them back to you in dlc packs! Definitely a player friendly move to enable the transfer.

Yeah it’s a great feature that they let you do that looking forward to cruising around Hawaii in my Ferrari fxx which I got included with the gold edition which was on sale on steam ages ago!

While it is fair to compare motorfest to the FH series, to me, it feels like FH’s developers were just secretly copying Ivory Tower’s homework and releasing unfinished games in hopes of them being successful money-grabs. Especially when you take the time to consider how long Motorfest has been in development. I have both games and motorfest seems to accomplish a feeling that the Horizon series seems to lack.
If you take a look at Playground Games' history, its founders have no prior experience with open-world racing game development. As of now, I think this is where Ubisoft Ivory Tower has the edge as it was founded by former Eden Games devs, the studio that developed TDU, with Stéphane Beley being the game's director, who's also the director of all three The Crew installments.
The only feeling it really gives me is another super arcade-ish racer. "Especially when you take the time to consider how long Motorfest has been in development" How is that a pro lol? They took that long to give us what feels line the same game with newer graphics, a smaller map, and the ability to just import/unlock all the cars we had in the previous game. All this talk of "omg the handling is way better than Crew2" lol thats like polishing a turd. Anything would be an improvement over crew 2 physics and thats all everyone talks about

PS owners are still waiting for the next Test Drive instalment which isn’t far away so they don’t need to be worried about not playing Forza.
Now we have finally a new opponent for the Top 3 Best Games. Off Course the first hit is for Need For Speed, NFS still be the best Arcade with police chases but people are upset with Unbound while people now exited with Motorfest. The next One Forza Horizon it's now the Rival it needs. Forza need to do something because this was a hit for the game but not strong enough. And Solar Crown is coming so must do something big in Horizon 6. But then there's no way The Crew can Beat a Lengendary Game like Gran Turismo, only Asstto Corsa or Motorsport can do Something like this.
Horizon devs are currently making the new Fable game maybe be a while for Horizon 6 so great time for other good racing games in open world
The Crew and Gran Turismo are two different franchises (by racing game type), so it's obvious they're not rivals of each other.
If we had a game that used realistic physics/car handling like asseto corsa and the massive open world maps like FH5 or crew-moto I think they would have an unbeatable racing game as long as they dropped the arcade-ish crap and didnt include the silly little kid themes of FH series. Can you imagine the Crew-M map with realistic asseto corsa car handling and FH series sized car list and vehicle customization? Id beg the developer to take my $$ lol. Im praying TDU solar crown doesnt screw this up and finally gives us a grown up open world automotive gem. Fingers crossed.

Other than Crew Motorfest also being an open world racer there isnt much else on par with FH5 much less F-motorsport as far as driving. I think the sounds might be slightly better on some cars in CrewM and one may prefer the more lively map of CM over FH5 but all that could be subjective. The handling and physics are way, WAY more arcade-ish in CM. Sure its an improvement over Crew2 but that isn't saying much considering how ridiculous Crew 2 handling was. Take 1:04 for example. Like really? Even the least realistic hypercar upgraded to max X class in FH5 wouldn't be able to nearly dead stop in 20 feet from 245 km/hr and pull a 90 degree turn like that maintaining grip. Im not saying FH5 is a shining example of realistic car handling by any means but its multiple levels above what you can expect in CM. And then there is the ever recharging NOS....lol. It just screams cheesy NFS kiddy vibes. I think you said CM has a bit over 300 cars on the list? FH5 is at like 650 or more at this point I believe? I know CM has the bikes, boats and planes to add but those arnt something I really count in a primarily automotive focused game (Im all for the bikes being something different to try ). I have MANY criticisms of FH5 but its hard to compare the two when you talk about pure driving realism and car customization depth. And I totally get that isnt where CM ended up taking this game and FH5 wasn't trying to be asseto corsa or even on the Forza motorsport level. Also the fact that you can just completely import all the cars from Crew2 over to this game with zero effort into unlocking anything or grinding totally rubs me the wrong way and really screws over the new players. It just feels like a DLC with some shiny upgrades. Ok enough of my rant lol. I get it may be the new best offering on the PS platform, but setting the benchmark for open world racers across all platforms I cant agree with. I REALLY wanted this to be a true open world racing game that dropped all the arcade silly nonsense. But look at all the hotwheels loops in the middle of the city. It feels like a kids game. Im really hoping TDU solar crown finally gives us the open world exploration with some realistic physics, less focus on stupid fortnite emotes and silly races and themes. I want a grown up automotive open world game and I think a lot of people do as well.
Thinking we need a dev team that is willing to make this happen.

I think the big hurdle we would have to get over is these developers getting out of their comfort zone and and a ability to have free reign on the direction they took the game. They also need to be car people and not just a game dev. I think the reason we see so many copy/paste racing games is because the big wigs at the top try so hard to market games to absolutely everyone in order maximize profits. It's why we see these open world games include all these childish themes and races and content that really has nothing to do with pure automotive thrills. it's why FH5 has these silly races and events where you just plow through pinatas or stuffed donkeys or drive your car as fast as you can off this cliff and see how far you get type content. I mean no offence to the younger crowd I'm not saying all 10-16 year old like that stuff. But it just seems SO prevalent in all the new open world titles coming out yet they disregard what true car people really want. like I could care less that I have a hundred fortnite emotes to choose from to dance around when I win a race. I don't care that my player has all these handicap peg legs and like politically correct things my player can yell. I want cars that feel like the real thing. I want sounds and attention to car model detail. I want handling that doesn't feel like I'm being treated like a moron that has no idea how to drive or assume I want to constantly drive at 300mph smashing into every guardrail and never having to touch my brakes with no penalty. like the things that true car people enjoy. when I talk to people I drive with in games they want regular sports cars they can relate to instead of never ending x class, supped up to the max, turning on a dime type cars. yeah super cars are fun but at least make them feel like I'm driving it in real life. there is just something different about having a open world map and being able to cruise around with friends who can build/tune a modest car that they might own in reality. Those are the players that will stick around and put hours and hours into a game tinkering around. Maybe I'm crazy for wanting something like that. I'm just tired of these rinse and repeat titles that seem to market to an audience that usually isn't old enough to have a driver's license 😎. Ill definitely give the free trial a go. I'm just betting there won't be anything I haven't seen before to keep me coming back. I hope I'm wrong!

Not entirely sure what you meant when you said 60fps on perf mode because I played the closed beta and it was 120fps and if I used overdrive on my monitor it was 230

I’m coming from playing all horizon games, and this has honestly made me want to stop playing Forza. Maybe it’s not as fluid-flowing when it comes to the mechanics as FH, but it looks very promising compared to other Crew games. Fun fact…as soon as I heard the widebody charger was coming I pre ordered right away 😂

Looks OK, but I don't really see any reason to play it over Forza Horizon 5, even if FH5 is old at this point I think the driving feels better in that game than it looks like in this.
Demo framerate was janky, did they fix it in the full version?
