For Keys benefit, a Talk Box is an effect that guitarists use to add a new sound to the performance. Essentially it directs the sound of the guitar into their mouth where they can use their mouth and throat to alter the guitar sounds and send them through the mic. With the right person it can be magic.
At the time most guitarists called it a Throat Tube. Now it's called a Talk Box which is worn outside the mouth on the mic stand and is a processed sound like a synth. It was changed as the tube down the throat tended to damage vocal chords if you weren't careful.
The Division Bell, from this song is taken, is one of the most underrated albums of Pink Floyd's discography. The concept behind the album is the communication between humans and this song carries the concept too well. As a result of the lyrics' analysis, it’s true that without communication the human relationships will fall apart. It’s kind of mystical the treatment that this topic is receiving here, in this song. She made it all the way through Animals without becoming flustered (no small feat), but this song floored her. I love it! Best song of the concert, and I'm a huge fan of Sorrow. The voice box steals the show.

They have a female vocalist that to my mind is, second to none, when it comes female vocalists. Her name is Floor Jansen. She is Dutch singer from the Netherlands. Nightwish hired her in 2112, when their singer fell ill during the middle of their north american tour that year. She is a soprano, and operatic and classically trained. She was a vocal coach as well.
