sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot my password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
Nice live version, have had the album for many years. I like Mr. Scofield's older stuff, so funky and happy, etc......but then, I like his new stuff too.
I was there! really a mindblowing experience (despite the poor sound) The night after, they played the little club Montmartre, and now with super good sound. Especially Dennis Chambers scared the crap out of the audience tat night...!
Great structure and melody, and even better when it's right there in front of a open minded wiser audience that also love it as much as I do. Thank you for showing this. I am truly appreciative. Thanks
I wonder how this would sound if Sco were leading a band like Jaco's Word of Mouth band, including Chambers and Grainger. Basically, if there were no synths and horns instead. I do the super-staccato rhythms and mix of 70s fusion solos with tighter and more pop-oriented 80s fusion song structure. The keyboards are for the most part dated to the extreme, but the writing is so strong, it all still holds up well.
I've got a question, by the way: could someone provide a link or an audio file to the "yougai" track, maybe from a japanese import of Still warm ???? Unfindable ?? Tkx to all
foerfinad I know it's been 5 years since your post lol. He used a stereo set up. I believe he used a Rat overdrive, chorus and at that point in the song, it sounds like a very light octave pedal mixed very low, subtle.
Gary Grainger on bass, Jim Beard on keys. I still have the videotape I recorded in 1987 by letting the tape run on after taping a Meeting of the Spirits gig. Nothing to play it on. I'd never heard of Scofield until that.
Remember I had this music on my Walkman when I served in the Norwegian army..
Good
What a vibe
This is my favorite Scofield production ever. It´s pure inspiration and a kick-ass grooving power!!!!
classic, my all time favourite guitarist for sure

@Reece Orlando Instablaster :)
Dennis Chambers on the Drums!! YES!!!!
So good
He is building a big house out of notes with a strong foundation.
This album is one of my faves. I wish someone would post the track "time marches on". I think it's so gorgeous, a masterpiece...
Blue Matter record and this band were the apex of Scofields playing. This band was so good...
Damn this group was killer!! One of my absolute favorite Scofield compositions!!
Nice live version, have had the album for many years. I like Mr. Scofield's older stuff, so
funky and happy, etc......but then, I like his new stuff too.
John is the real deal, always. A thousand stars.
This kicks ass :)
One of the BEST albums PERIOD🔥🔥🔥
独特のタイム感と、緊張感走るフレージング!
熱いですね!
brings back good memories. thanks for sharing
Watching These guys live with low quality sound output is even more exhilarating than listening to the album
i love this music
This Band is the Most INSANE Johns Collaborated… Miss Gary Grainger with DAT FUNKY SLAP GROOVE🌹🌻🌈🔥🔥🔥🎶💜🌎🍄😍🎵☮️☮️☮️

That's phrasing at it's best, Scofield has a propensity to be fugal in a very laid-back manner.
Fugal yet laid back. May I borrow that one ? 😅
WTF is fugal?
More than 25 yrs ago please................lonegroover THANK YOU
Thanks for the upload, awesome!
sheer brilliance man. thanks for the up ;)
Great structure and melody, and even better when it's right there in front of a open minded wiser audience that also love it as much as I do. Thank you for showing this. I am truly appreciative. Thanks
8:39 the line from beyond. One of many.
Exactly. Blow, John blow.
Amazing! thank you very much
Grammavision Jazz at their height. I had all of these albums with this band back in the day.
Dennis OWNS!
Mega funky-rock Sco! With the magic funky-couple Grainger-Chambers!
Scofield at his peak, Blue Matter
Nice shuffle.-love it since I first heard it back in the day..Scofield is just ALL originality!

TOTAL PLEASURE, as always.
Very nice. Thanks for posting.
It's Gary ,He's on my latest cd reviewed by Just Jazz Guitar Magazine and Downbeat to name a few!
como puede ser este muchacho, esto tiene 25 años y es hoy !!!
How do you know when someone is ahead of their time? When they’re playing shit like this in the 80’s. Awesome. Thanks for the upload.
🤯
Incredible!!
love Sco!!!!!
Awesome !!!
JOHN SCOFIELD IS JUST SO FUCKING GREAT!~
This guy is too cool.
Jim Beard- keyboards, Gary Grainger- Bass and yes, Dennis Chambers on drums ;-)
Rob Aries keys
Thanks, don’t know where I got Jim Beard from!
@@Scinders Jim played in that band as well…
@@ChromaticHarpAh right , thanks, all the best :-)
Turn the volume of before you jack in...
I am so glad to hear that....I guess I was worried coz my ex-boss totally resembled him and was a MAJOR jerk!

❤👍❤👍❤👍❤👍❤
This is Jazz Fusion, not the crap you hear on the radio.
Dennis Chambers , slow heavy metal drumming technique .
Heavy metal? Come on......
Fusion, dude.
Heavy metal?
Wow.
Is the other way around.
...
おお! 黄金のメンバーですやん!!
Oh !! GOLDEN Members is it !!
THIS IS DENNIS CHAMBERS ON THE DRUMSS
Interesting but it occurs to me what an awkward time 1987 must've been...
so much less awkward than this -- 30 years later......trust me and all of us who lived through it. Today is as awkward as it will ever get.
Jason has a point. Anytime there is a keytar on stage, there is awkwardness in the air...
You mean awesome? I'd take 1987 over today any day. Guys like Sco, Chambers, etc playing fusion and it being KIND OF popular? Yeah, sign me up
@Sax4Him Who called it a trio?
Unbelievable...
We are olways in present times.
I've got a question, by the way: could someone provide a link or an audio file to the "yougai" track, maybe from a japanese import of Still warm ???? Unfindable ?? Tkx to all
With O. Hakim & D. Jones (sorry, forgot the keyboarder)
He is using Roland JC-120?
Iz Tak I see a Yamaha G100-III also, 2 of which he used with Miles.
It's an octave pedal I believe.
I wonder when he took his shades off.
That fucking keytar. lololololololol :P
Who is slapping the stingray bass?
Hi, does anyone know how Sco get this tone in 8:25 ...? Effects, setup?
foerfinad I know it's been 5 years since your post lol. He used a stereo set up. I believe he used a Rat overdrive, chorus and at that point in the song, it sounds like a very light octave pedal mixed very low, subtle.
That beat on the bridge sounds...familar. NAH. Never mind.
John Scofield - Uberjam - Live@Paradox -Tilburg -The Netherlands -10 november 2013!
@
-John eat this music for breakfast :) cool face
01:43 ToeJam & Earl
Yeah, that's your coke right there
Who are the other band members. Is that DC on drums?
DC - Drums, Gary Grainger - Bass,. Robert Aires - Keys. Same personnel as on the great Blue Matter Live album.
@Sax4Him
That's a group :)
What kind of guy is he offstage I wonder?
A really cool, articulate guy, w/ a great sense of humor.
Is this a Kind of smooth jazz? or what is the correct name ? thank you
Fusion
Its Jazz Fusion
but ther's a lot of funky
Jazz fusion is a mix of jazz and some other style. Sometimes its rock, sometimes its funk, latin...
Yes I know, but I mean that the funky rhythm in this case is very present
Who's tha bass player? Familiar face and groove but I just cannot place the name...?
Poopy Lee Poopta
Arguably the best ever! Other than Charlie Parker of course
Why is this quartet called a trio?.....
who's on bass and keyboard?
Bassman Gary Grainger
Thanks.
Robert Aries on keys.
Gary Grainger on bass, Jim Beard on keys. I still have the videotape I recorded in 1987 by letting the tape run on after taping a Meeting of the Spirits gig. Nothing to play it on. I'd never heard of Scofield until that.
robert aries, not jim beard
Micheal league on key tar?!
He bites the notes out of the air, eats them, and then regurgitates them out of his fingers.
Dennis Chambers ;)
This fantastic music has not aged a single day.
Quite the opposite, the oversized shoulder pads... 😅😉
I might be wrong but, Gary Grainger.
Chi è il bassista?
gary grainger
dead-end guitar !
And of course 4:58
#radical
Dennis Chmabers is the Man. End
Sounds like he's picking octaves....
lol, danmark :D
Keyitars are cool!
Yes, probably it´s just you.
what is aries doing with a keytar... hahahaha
Sco is real good but Albert Collins for the real raw energy feel ...
Yeah, it would seem that the keyboard player can't swing
Right. Can’t swing but he’s yet he’s jammin with Dennis, Gary and John. You should teach him how.
well maybe you have to start listen to jazz.
Probably its just me, I like jazz music. But this performance is a bit boring, un interesting note choices and a bad tone. It all turns me off !!
its just you
You sound just like one of those Sco-haters, I've met a few.
