I want to use such a device with a plastic corner-cube reflector plate, which reflects THOUSANDS as much back in the direction of the emitter than a white paper-like surface. (See Lambertian reflector.) I want to measure 500, 1000, 2000 meters, with a resolution of 1 millimeter . Problem is, I don't think the device will 'wait for' such a delayed reflection, even when it arrives with plenty of intensity. And, of course, the display also doesnt have sufficient digits to display this. Perhaps these manufacturers don't want to compete with professional distance measuring equipment?
Hello, I use the glm50 c for years. But now I have the new green laser GLM 50-27 CG from bosch. This laser measure works with li ion battery or AA battery, and is IP 65 rated.
@@lydialydia2337Bosch laser measures are ISO certified ant and they are very accurate. Indoor measurements are accurate to +/-1.5 mm. Outdoor measurements are the same, but direct sunlight or fog, dust can have very minimal effect on the results. The Leica laser measures are also very accurate. If I remember Leica Geosystems invented this measuring method.

But from my experience this model with the green laser is performing slightly better and the laser point is more visible outdoors. For better results you can use laser view enhancing targets.

I believe they are 2 to 3 mm for the entire range. Maybe it is 5 parts per million of the total distance.
