Hey Dean, great videos. You should consider wearing some surgical gloves to protect your skin from the cleaning agent your using in the bath and make sure in a ventilated area you could be damaging your health as your fixing and cleaning so many tools. I use a heavy duty degreaser which gives great results also. Might be less toxic than the heating fuel i think you use? Just look after yourself mate. I’ve been on health and safety courses and seem some of the cases from prolonged exposures to different substances. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Incredible skill and speed dean i wish you lived near me ive just bought one of these guns and its playing up probly the same as this one , i couldnt do this remenbering where everything goes and having the confidence to do it thanjs fir sharing 👍
Perfect video and very straightforward.. Very much appreciated too, Dean.. .. My next question is that I have two pin guns which need servicing. Do you also have a video available for them?.. In the meantime, I thank you very much.. Loxley
Dean firing pin not returning serviced cleaned and Reed valve done same issue then changed piston better rings not new but better same issue can it only be the rubber bumper or cylinder metal o rings
Hi Dean I have one of these guns bought it off ebay afew weeks ago , it was working OK some of the time but started not firing then sometimes making a underpowered popping sound and nail only goes half way in , I'm using new gas nails ect battery charged up, did watch a video on RUclips to give it a basic clean bought some cleaner oil ect put it back together now it doesn't seem to work at all😫 . I'm a disaster when it comes to anything mechanical. Have you any ideas what it could be ? Mant thanks Paul thank you for the excellent videos you've got me put of trouble before with a makita belt sander 👍
Paslodes should be fine in the rain. they are a proper roofing gun. Older im350 models are better as they have less electronics and they are all sealed up. The 360 models are not as good but should still be fine as long as them are not getting soaked. as over time the connectors and wires connecting the different boards can corrode and brake. Plus the new battery location on the latest 360 model is not good for rain. as if the gun is hooked on somewhere with the batter facing up, the battery slot can fill with water and short batteries
Hi Dean, I was given an old IM250 which was firing a few nails then not firing, so I cleaned it up as I’ve seen from your videos but now it won’t fire at all…I discovered that the ‘pink’ spark plug cable that goes into the ‘black control box’ in the handle just pushes in and out of the the box….I’m guessing this isn’t right. Any thoughts mate, I know it’s old but I’d love to have it working as I’ve never owned one of these guns before? Thanks in advance.
Hide my pencil gun works fine everything about it apart from wot eject the Nile when you pull the trigger it goes bang and it seems like the nails are springing back so H misses them. Could you tell me what the problem is please thank you
Another update: Battery kicking out 6.4volts, I then plugged it in and followed the voltage along the ‘rail’ to the purple wiring harness to measure it at 5volts. When plugging the purple wires into the sparking unit I got a very brief green light which faded away. Unplugged it and tried again to find no green light came on, not even briefly. Mechanically it appears to want a set of o-rings, piston rings, plus a very good clean!

Looks handy been took apart.. but how do you remember how it all goes back together again. And have you ever took something apart and couldn't remember how it went back together again...
@@deanthompson6664 yea it was kerosene, last ages. Probably leave it for to long before changing it out. Last time I changed it was around 4 months ago
⛔️ Great Video ⚠️ Just wish it were a bit slower with a wee bit more description of what goes where while re-assembling. Shaft had 3 or 4 pieces I could not get a good look at around the 9:40 mark. As a result, I don’t think I could complete the cleaning process. But, Thnx again for the Video. : j
The way you trip it and just toss the parts shows how much you know these guns 👌
Oh no! It's midnight and I started watching this. It's going to be a long night
Best video for paslode service
Committed as always. Love your blade knife 🔪 which has several purposes. Thanks for the video! Greetings from Indonesia
Best I've seen even though I from America I understood everything no nonsense beautiful presentation
These things are incredibly easy to work on, I love it.
Best tool repair man around

How do you replace the spring that retains the nails???band spring.
In your opinion can you use Paslode nail guns in wet weather will it do any damage?

No that cable is ment to come out. Check your spark plug is clean and the cable going to the spark plug socket is not broken at the head
Oh, ok Dean,
Thanks for that, I’ll give it a try.
I’ll let you know how I get on.
Thank you.
Dave.

Not pencil, Parslow
Mines not powering up at all, tried new battery to no avail. Any quick things to check
Update: stripped it right down to find no continuity between positive terminal where battery connects and plug that goes onto the fan

What is that scraper at 5:47, never seen one like that before😍😍😍😍
what does the reed strip actually do though? I'm interested.
It's a one way valve that allows the exhaust gas to escape. Them seals to allow suction that causes the pin to retract

Melt the lock tight.?
What type of cleaner did you use? Ive been buying the paslode degreaser spray, but it doesn't last long enough to get it perfectly cleaned
Just use cheap brake cleaner but try not to get it on the electriconic parts
