I mean back in the day we literally didn't know that there were Famicom and NES and thought that Subor's "Dendy" machines were the real deal. Regardless of how it looks now, (a year ago) its still exciting to hear that another console is being in development from a totally new company. It’s the same way I feel with smart phones. The PS4 and Xbox One are both sold in electronics stores, but people generally get their consoles from the grey market, as the price is often lower and the game selection MUCH broader. The grey market is the "not entirely illegal" import market that exists in small stores and on Taobao. The government doesn't really care enough about it to stop it, even when consoles were technically illegal, so the market is quite developed. Anyhow, I personally know a lot of Chinese guys in my age range (in my 30's) who game and own consoles. Perhaps it's just because I live in a big city in China, who knows.

This console will certainly fail. BTW, That about 14-year fucking game console ban actually wasn't really effective, consoles and games can be easily bought from both retail stores and online stores, I have owned GBA, GBA SP, DS, DSL, two PSPs, 3DS and a PSV during this time period and played many games. But that game console ban combined with the more pirate-able of PC games (Many Chinses, especially at early years, don't want to pay for software, while some consoles at that age like the PS3 was already not easy to pirate) and some other reasons (like many parents are more willing to buy kids a computer than a game console though a computer is more expensive and their kids will only game on that computer anyway), does actually made many people switched to PC gaming.

Reminds me of those Steam Machines that didn't really take off several years back. It was the same idea, use off the shelf PC parts and mimic the form and function of consoles, but it didn't appeal to console owners because they were still basically PCs and it didn't appeal to PC owners because customization options were limited. They were ultimately a solution in search of a problem.
Well the Nvida shield has actually been very popular in China because of the console ban, it didn't fall into the category of a gaming console so it apparently sold very well there and its possible it had influence in this machines design.
Consoles are not banned in China. I grew up with gameboy and psv. They are just really unpopular. And Microsoft and Sony don't bother to get licenses, which means Chinese players have to play on Hong Kong servers.

Actually Chinese children (in big cities) played console games a lot with Sony/Nintendo consoles from Hong Kong or Macau though these consoles never sold officially in mainland China.
Hong Kong and Macau were under a different ruleset rather than mainland china. They were democratic while mainland china were under communism. I really wonder if Mainland china has console smugglers or at the very least speakeasy type places where you can play consoles and consume western media.

Why is everyone acting like I am on "console"? I never said I owned a console. Plus I have a full Ryzen battlestation(not crazy expensive but R3 1300x)
Honestly that's a pretty cool system. I can understand the use, very limited (specific use case). But still cool, but it'd have to be convenient. you can always switch from a console to a PC with an HDMI cord switch and pushing a power button. But if the combination system is relatively cheap it gives the kid a fully function computer for schooling, and a console that can be more dedicated to playing games when you switch to console mode. And it being China, maybe they'd automatically have the 1 hour play time built into the system. So the parents get they're kids a console, the kid can only play the limited time they have that day anyways, and the rest of the time could be used for the PC functionality.

Regardless of how it looks now, (a year ago) its still exciting to hear that another console is being in development from a totally new company. It’s the same way I feel with smart phones. Before it was Samsung and apple. Now there’s one plus, google pixel, xiaomi, and don’t even jumped on. I can see in the near future, consoles becoming more abundant and having way more options!

The PS4 and Xbox One are both sold in electronics stores, but people generally get their consoles from the grey market, as the price is often lower and the game selection MUCH broader. The grey market is the "not entirely illegal" import market that exists in small stores and on Taobao. The government doesn't really care enough about it to stop it, even when consoles were technically illegal, so the market is quite developed.
Anyhow, I personally know a lot of Chinese guys in my age range (in my 30's) who game and own consoles. Perhaps it's just because I live in a big city in China, who knows.

Here comment from China. That company is basically a copycat off-brand of Nintendo in the early years and I as a console player didn't hear that thing until your video. This console will certainly fail. BTW, That about 14-year fucking game console ban actually wasn't really effective, consoles and games can be easily bought from both retail stores and online stores, I have owned GBA, GBA SP, DS, DSL, two PSPs, 3DS and a PSV during this time period and played many games. But that game console ban combined with the more pirate-able of PC games (Many Chinses, especially at early years, don't want to pay for software, while some consoles at that age like the PS3 was already not easy to pirate) and some other reasons (like many parents are more willing to buy kids a computer than a game console though a computer is more expensive and their kids will only game on that computer anyway), does actually made many people switched to PC gaming.

Reminds me of those Steam Machines that didn't really take off several years back. It was the same idea, use off the shelf PC parts and mimic the form and function of consoles, but it didn't appeal to console owners because they were still basically PCs and it didn't appeal to PC owners because customization options were limited. Consoles are not banned in China. I grew up with gameboy and psv. They are just really unpopular. And Microsoft and Sony don't bother to get licenses, which means Chinese players have to play on Hong Kong servers.
Before this video I had no idea of the console situation in China, that said it makes a lot of Sense why Pc Is dominant there, they literally had nothing else for many years so it's what they know and love as opposed to western and Japanese culture who mostly grew up on Nintendo xbox sony consoles
Actually Chinese children (in big cities) played console games a lot with Sony/Nintendo consoles from Hong Kong or Macau though these consoles never sold officially in mainland China.
Hong Kong and Macau were under a different ruleset rather than mainland china. They were democratic while mainland china were under communism.
I really wonder if Mainland china has console smugglers or at the very least speakeasy type places where you can play consoles and consume western media.

Though this law was effective all the way to 2015, people could still buy consoles from third parties without any issues. I myself grew up with a PSP, and I went to arcades and my friend's home to play Xbox/PS3 because my parents wouldn't buy me another console.

Honestly that's a pretty cool system. I can understand the use, very limited (specific use case). But still cool, but it'd have to be convenient. you can always switch from a console to a PC with an HDMI cord switch and pushing a power button. But if the combination system is relatively cheap it gives the kid a fully function computer for schooling, and a console that can be more dedicated to playing games when you switch to console mode. And it being China, maybe they'd automatically have the 1 hour play time built into the system. So the parents get they're kids a console, the kid can only play the limited time they have that day anyways, and the rest of the time could be used for the PC functionality.
